Hummel agreed to a deal to play in the Italian League with Olimpia Milano, Sportando reports.

The Timberwolves extended and then rescinded the qualifying offer to Hummel, making him an unrestricted free agent. He spent the last two seasons with the Timberwolves after playing in Spain during his rookie year. In 45 games last season, he averaged 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 16.5 minutes per game.

Hummel was extended a qualifying offer by the Timberwolves on Sunday and will thus become a restricted free agent, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Hummel played in just 45 games last season, finishing with averages of 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds over 17 minutes per game. As long as he isn't extended an offer by another team that the Timberwolves aren't willing to match, he'll return to Minnesota as a depth option behind the likes of Kevin Martin, Zach LaVine, Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett. He'll likely remain very limited in his potential fantasy output.

Hummel appeared in 45 games for Minnesota this season, averaging 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 16.5 minutes per game.

Hummel returned for his second season with the Timberwolves after appearing in 53 contests in 2013-14. He was a rotational player for the first half of the season before breaking his hand in late-January. That injury caused him to miss two months, and he was able to return to the active roster for the final 10 games of the season. He was not overly impressive in that span, however, as he averaged 4.6 points per game and shot just 39 percent from the floor (22.3 minutes per game). At this point in his career, Hummel is solidified as a borderline-rotation player who's unlikely to make an impact from a fantasy standpoint. He'll enter the summer as a restricted free agent with a $1.15 million qualifying offer.

Hummel finished with 11 points (5-9 FG, 1.2 3Pt), 10 rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes against the Pelicans.

Minnesota has been decimated by injuries and Monday was no different. Chase Budinger (ankle) and Justin Hamilton (hamstring) both went down during Monday's game. Hummel may be the beneficiary again on Wednesday if those two aren't able to play against the Thunder.

Even if Hummel does play Sunday, it's unlikely that he will see enough time to be a useful fantasy option. It's more likely that he just sits out the final games of the regular season and focuses on next year.

Hummel started at forward in Wednesday's loss to Dallas, but scored just five points with five rebounds in 25 minutes.

Hummel has started three games in a row and is averaging 30.4 minutes and 6.7 points per game over that span. However, his role is likely to decrease with the imminent return of Kevin Martin.

Hummel got the start again on Monday, but was held scoreless and attempted just one shot in 24 minutes on the floor. He added seven rebounds, one steal, and an assist in the contest

Hummel was coming off a stellar 15 point, 13 rebound performance Saturday against Denver, but put up a dud against the Hornets. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if he returned to the bench soon if has another abysmal performance. Also, Kevin Martin is nearing a return, which would also put a serious limit on Hummel's value.

Hummel replaced Chase Budinger in the starting lineup Saturday, registering his first career double-double, scoring 15 points (6-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with 13 rebounds and one block in 43 minutes.

Kevin Martin's imminent return nixes any long-term value Hummel may have, but if you were able to stream him in when the news was announced, yu would've have been pleasantly surprised. Hummel is averaging just 4.2 points and 2.4 rebounds for the season and this outburst isn't something to get too excited about, given his likely limited opportunities moving forward.

Hummel (illness) will be available off the bench Wednesday against the Suns, Paul Coro of AZ Central Sports reports.
