Wed Sep 30 201517:52Quarless (knee) placed on IR/designated-to-return list Wednesday
Quarless (knee) was placed on the IR/designated-to-return list Wednesday, the Packers' official site reports.
Quarless' sprained MCL was expected to required 4-to-6 weeks of recovery anyway, so he should be approaching full health when he's eligible to return in eight weeks. In the interim, Kennard Backman will move into the backup tight-end role, but expect another body to enter the TE ranks in the near future.

Quarless (knee) will be out for four-to-six weeks with a sprained MCL, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Richard Rodgers has received most of the snaps at tight end, but Quarless has cut into his workload. Potentially looking at an every-down role for the next four-to-six weeks, Rodgers could emerge as a low-end fantasy option, though he'd likely still be touchdown-dependent.

Quarless (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of Monday's game against the Chiefs.
The Packers have not provided any details about the knee injury Quarless suffered in Monday's game, but the setback will prevent him from returning to the contest, and puts his availability for Week 4 in question.

Quarless is questionable to return to Monday's game versus the Chiefs due to a knee injury, Weston Hodkiewicz of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.
In the second quarter, Quarless seemed to pick up the ailment on his first catch of the season. If he remains sidelined, the Packers will have just one available tight end (Richard Rodgers) for the remainder of the contest.

Quarless did not catch a pass in Sunday's victory over the Bears.
Quarless started at tight end for most of the 2014 season, but he has was passed on the depth chart by Richard Rodgers over the offseason, and was used primarily as a blocker in Week 1.

Quarless made just one catch for six yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Eagles.
Quarless has put up meager preseason numbers to date -- four catches for 44 yards -- and has fallen behind Richard Rodgers in the race for the starting tight end gig. Quarless will still find himself on the field in plenty of two-tight end sets, but his chances of duplicating his 2014 numbers (29 catches, 323 yards, 3 TDs) seem slim with Rodgers likely becoming more involved in the offense.

Quarless recorded one catch for 17 yards in a preseason loss to the Steelers on Sunday.
Quarless, who caught 29 passes for 323 yards and three TDs last year, appears to have fallen behind Richard Rodgers in the race for the Packers' starting tight end job, based on the team's posted depth chart. While that slotting doesn't preclude Quarless from seeing his share of looks in tandem with Rodgers this season, any sort of time-share on that front would hamper Quarless' chances of making a fantasy splash.
Tue Aug 18 201513:57Quarless passed by Richard Rodgers for playing time
Quarless has been passed by Richard Rodgers for playing time, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Quarless and Richard Rodgers split playing time last season, and it appears the latter is set for a larger role in 2015. Already lacking in upside, Quarless now seems unlikely to offer even deep-league value unless Rodgers suffers an injury.
Mon Aug 3 201517:52Quarless practiced fully on Monday
Quarless, who did not participate in the first two practices of the Packers' training camp due to the death of his daughter, practiced fully on Monday, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports
Quarless spoke to reporters on Monday, relaying the tragedy that he and his family suffered last week. "This past Wednesday, July 29, I lost my daughter on delivery," Quarless said. "Probably the saddest day of my life." After practicing Monday, Quarless added, "it felt real good just to get out there, catch some passes, be able to run around a little bit, kind of get back to your old self and get back into things. I'm looking forward to moving on in this camp and getting ready for the season."
Sat Aug 1 201512:59Quarless didn't participate in Saturday's practice
Quarless didn't participate in Saturday's practice, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Quarless spent the initial days of training camp away from the team to tend to a personal concern. Despite donning full pads to start drills Saturday, he didn't fit in any team reps, which coach Mike McCarthy confirmed was deliberate afterward. Instead, Quarless will slowly increase his workload as camp revs up in the coming days and weeks.
Sat Aug 1 201509:58Quarless has returned to practice and participating in full pads
Quarless has returned to practice and is participating in full pads, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
There was a worry Quarless would be gone for longer due to an unknown family situation, but he was only gone for two days. He should now be expected to get the majority of first team reps at tight end and remains the very likely Week 1 starter.

Coach Mike McCarthy indicated Thursday that Quarless was absent from training camp practice due to "an extremely difficult family situation and he's where he needs to be," the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The report further notes that McCarthy does not know when Quarless might return, with the coach adding that the tight end will "be gone as long as he needs to be." In Quarless' absence, Richard Rodgers, Kennard Backman, Harold Spears, Mitchell Henry and Justin Perillo are in line to handle Green Bay's tight end reps in training camp.
Tue Jul 7 201511:38The Packers have no plans to release Quarless ESPN.com reports
The Packers have no plans to release Quarless, who was charged with a misdemeanor for discharging a firearm in public on July 4, ESPN.com reports.
Following the incident, a Packers spokesperson noted that the team was "aware of the matter involving Andrew Quarless" and "in the process of gathering more information." Per the report, Quarless could be subject to discipline under the NFL's personal conduct policy down the road. In the meantime, the tight end, who is in the second year of a two-year, $3 million contract with Green Bay, is line to compete this summer with Richard Rodgers for a starting assignment. Quarless is coming off a campaign in which he caught 29 passes for 323 yards and three TDs in 16 games, numbers that resulted in modest fantasy utility for the 26-year-old in 2014.

Quarless was arrested in Miami on Saturday morning on a charge of discharging a firearm in public, the Miami New Times reports.
According to a police report cited by the Miami New Times, Quarless is accused of firing a gun twice -- once in the air, and once in an unspecified but seemingly target-less direction -- around 5:30 am. The other details are less clear, but the report cites a parking attendant's claim that Quarless fired the gun from his Porsche during a conflict with a group of women in a nearby car. The attendant quoted one of the women as yelling "No, get away, leave me alone," though Quarless is not yet accused of doing anything aside from firing the gun. Still, this is a bizarre incident that could reveal something worse yet, so Quarless' standing with Green Bay could be on notice for now.

Quarless did not catch a pass in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks.
Quarless caught four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' playoff opener, but he was shut out in the NFC Championship game. He started for most of the season, but only caught 29 passes and was used primarily to block. He will likely have to fend off fellow tight end Richard Rodgers to retain the starting tight end job in 2015.

Quarless did not catch a pass in the Packers' Week 17 victory over the Lions.
Quarless averaged 38.5 receiving yards per game between Weeks 11-14, but his production fell off at the end of the season, and he totaled just 24 receiving yards over the final three games. Fellow tight end Richard Rodgers caught five passes for 40 yards in Sunday's game and seems to be the better bet to produce for those playing in playoff leagues.

Quarless caught two passes for 17 yards in Sunday's victory over the Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers defend opposing tight ends well, and that was again the case against Quarless and the Packers on Sunday. Quarless has a career-high 323 yards this season, but he will enter Week 17 having totaled just three receptions and 24 yards over his last two games.

Quarless caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's loss to the Bills.
One week after putting up a season-high 52 receiving yards, Quarless was held to his lowest output since Week 4. It will be difficult to expect much of him in Week 16, particularly facing a Buccaneers defense that has given up just one touchdown to opposing tight ends in its last 10 games.

Quarless caught 3-of-4 targets for 52 yards in Monday's 43-37 win over the Falcons.
Quarless and Richard Rodgers both seem to catch one or two passes each week, and it was Quarless who came out ahead Monday night. Rodgers finished with zero catches on one target, while Quarless recorded his best yardage total of the season. Neither can be counted on for much of anything, heading into a Week 15 contest in Buffalo.

Quarless caught two passes for 17 yards in Sunday's victory over the Patriots.
Quarless was held in check by the Patriots after tallying a season-high 50 receiving yards the previous week. He remains the Packers' starting tight end, but he has not caught more than two passes in a game since Week 3, and will face an Atlanta team in Week 14 that has done a good job containing opposing tight ends this season.
