Nady didn't play in the majors last season and hit .296/.360/.456 with 15 home runs and 65 RBI over 124 games at the Triple-A level between the Royals and Rockies. The 35-year-old was a second-round pick of the Padres in 2000 and spent his first four MLB seasons with the club.
