Fri Mar 2909:57Alec Burks Questionable On Friday
New York Knicks guard Alec Burks (shoulder) is dealing with a sprained right shoulder and has received a questionable tag ahead of the Friday night game against the San Antonio Spurs. The veteran combo guard has been absent for the last two games and has also seen a very inconsistent role since re-joining the Knicks. His playing time seems to be both matchup-based and based on injuries. That hasn't been a bad thing for the team, but can make fantasy managers' lives difficult when trying to judge a streaming option decision. If he does play, he's not likely to receive as many minutes since most of the rotation is healthy minus OG Anunoby (elbow) and Julius Randle (shoulder).

Wed Mar 2719:32Alec Burks Remains Out On Wednesday
New York Knicks guard/forward Alec Burks (shoulder) will miss a second consecutive game on Wednesday versus Toronto. There was initially hope of him returning when the team listed him as questionable for the game, but Burks has now been downgraded to out. Burks' absence leaves the Knicks without a good scoring option off the bench. He's averaged around 15 minutes a night in the Big Apple, and Bojan Bogdanovic will have a chance to get some extra action off the Knicks bench without Burks.

Sun Feb 1101:18Alec Burks Scores 22 Points In Knicks Debut
New York Knicks guard Alec Burks debuted with his new team on Saturday versus the Indiana Pacers. The former Piston came off the bench in this one. Although Jalen Brunson was unequivocally the game's top producer, Burks scored 22 points in just 22 minutes. The Knicks moved on from Immanuel Quickley and Quentin Grimes, so a stable ball handler to support Brunson was desperately a need for New York. Without question, there's a spot for Burks in the rotation. However, fantasy managers shouldn't expect this type of production, at least not consistently, moving forward.

Sat Feb 1018:43Alec Burks To Make Knicks Debut On Saturday
New York Knicks guard Alec Burks will play on Saturday against the Indiana Pacers. It will be the veteran's first game with the Knicks, and it comes after he averaged 12.6 points in 43 games with the Pistons this season. Burks probably won't be a consistent fantasy contributor. However, with Jalen Brunson (ankle) questionable and OG Anunoby (elbow), Isaiah Hartenstein (Achilles), and Julius Randle (shoulder) out, Burks could be more productive for fantasy managers right out of the gate.

Thu Feb 815:15Alec Burks Headed Back To Knicks
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Alec Burks is heading back to the New York Knicks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic are being sent to New York in return for Evan Fournier, Quentin Grimes, Malachi Flynn, and two second-round picks. Burks played two seasons with the Knicks prior to this deal in 2020-21 and 2021-22. He joined the Pistons via trade and is now right back where he started. Over the last season and a half with Detroit, Burks averaged 12.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 2.1 made threes, and 1.0 turnovers per game. He's not an automatic addition in fantasy leagues right now because the Knicks have a few forwards and guards ahead of him. He could become a solid streaming option, though, while some of their key players are hurt.

Sat Jan 623:51Alec Burks Probable Against The Defending Champs
Detroit Pistons guard Alec Burks (hamstring) is expected to play on Sunday versus the Denver Nuggets. Burks has slowed down since averaging 15 points per game in October. However, he scored at least 21 points or more in the previous two games leading up to Friday's loss to the Warriors, so there may be something there for fantasy managers willing to risk putting him in the starting lineup.

Fri Jan 516:38Alec Burks Questionable For Friday
Detroit Pistons guard Alec Burks (hamstring) is currently listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors. The veteran guard lands on the injury report after dropping 27 points in 34 minutes of action during Wednesday's loss. The assumption is that Ausar Thompson would have a bigger role if Burks is forced to sit out. Thompson would be an interesting streaming option with increased playing time. He has been inconsistent recently, but has good upside especially with increased minutes.

Sun Nov 12 202314:43Alec Burks Returning On Sunday
Detroit Pistons guard Alec Burks (forearm) will play on Sunday against the Bulls. The 32-year-old missed his previous seven games because of a forearm contusion, which was unfortunate considering he was averaging 15 points before going down with the injury. That said, there's a chance he could see fewer minutes than usual. However, Burks should still see enough work to be relevant in any fantasy format, especially since the Pistons won't have Jalen Duren (ankle), Bojan Bogdanovic (calf), Joe Harris (shoulder), and Monte Morris (quadriceps) on Sunday.

Wed Nov 8 202315:38Pistons Without Jaden Ivey, Alec Burks Against Bucks
Detroit Pistons guards Jaden Ivey (illness) and Alec Burks (forearm) have both been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Ivey hasn't played since Nov. 2 due to an illness, and Burks was last seen on Oct. 30 after he sustained a left forearm contusion. They'll both look to suit back up on Friday versus the Philadelphia 76ers. With Joe Harris (shoulder) also down with an injury in addition to several other key contributors, Detroit's depth is being tested very early on during the 2023-24 campaign. It leaves head coach Monty Williams heavily dependent on Cade Cunningham to dominate usage, while 2023 first-rounders Ausar Thompson and Marcus Sasser figure to receive run in the 30-minute range against the Bucks. In a nightmarish scenario on the road with a depleted Pistons rotation, there's some inherent blowout risk attached to Wednesday's game for both sides.

Mon Nov 6 202316:15Alec Burks Unlikely To Return Monday
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Alec Burks (forearm) is considered doubtful for Monday's game versus the Golden State Warriors. Helping fill Bojan Bogdanovic's (calf) vacated lineup spot, Burks looks set to be a spectator for the fourth consecutive contest on Monday due to a left forearm contusion. The 32-year-old swingman is posting 9-category fantasy value inside the top 75 with averages of 15.0 points, 3.5 three-pointers, and 3.3 rebounds without a single turnover in 102 total minutes during four games this year. Burks should continue being regarded as day-to-day unless we hear otherwise. With Joe Harris (shoulder) also missing for Detroit, versatile first-round rookie Ausar Thompson should continue to be featured more prominently for as long as Burks may be sidelined. Fellow first-rounder Marcus Sasser should be able to maintain his spot in head coach Monty Williams' rotation against the Warriors, as well.

Sun Nov 5 202314:57Alec Burks Still Out On Sunday
Detroit Pistons guard Alec Burks (forearm) won't play against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. The 32-year-old veteran has had a fantastic season, averaging 15.0 points while shooting 53.8% from behind the arc. Unfortunately, he's been limited to just four games due to a forearm strain, so he may also miss Monday's clash with the Golden State Warriors. That said, Jadey Ivey (illness) also won't play, meaning Marcus Sasser and Joe Harris could see enough action to make a difference for fantasy managers looking to fill a void.

Tue Jun 27 202323:10Alec Burks Sticking Around In Detroit
The Detroit Pistons plan on exercising guard Alec Burks' team option for the 2023-2024 campaign. The 31-year-old should return to serve as a versatile rotational piece and veteran presence to help mentor the young Pistons roster featuring Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Killian Hayes, and Ausar Thompson. Burks was also quite efficient in his own right, gathering 12.8 points and 1.9 threes on 41.4% shooting from deep in just 22 minutes per game last season in Detroit. The three-level scorer possesses positional flexibility, but Burks may not see enough playing time in the Motor City next year to muster much fantasy relevance.

Sun Jun 11 202310:14Pistons Expected To Pick Up Option On Alec Burks
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Alec Burks is set to remain in Motown for the 2023-24 campaign, with NBA insider Michael Scotto noting that the Pistons are expected to pick up the $10.5 million team option on his contract. Burks' performances were one of the few positives for Detroit during a miserable 17-65 campaign, as the 31-year-old averaged 12.8 points off the bench with 3.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists, shooting 41.4 percent from deep. It's the fourth straight season the well-traveled veteran has averaged 10-plus points per game as mostly a bench contributor.

Thu Mar 16 202314:24Alec Burks Out Again Thursday
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Alec Burks (foot) will remain on the sidelines for Thursday's contest against the Nuggets. The 31-year-old will miss a sixth consecutive game while trying to overcome left foot soreness. Burks has been a good option off the bench for the Pistons this season, averaging 12.8 points with 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Cory Joseph and R.J. Hampton have been benefiting from Burks absence and should continue to get plenty of minutes until the roster is near full health again.

Fri Mar 10 202323:52Alec Burks Remains Out On Saturday
Detroit Pistons guard Alec Burks (foot) remains out for Saturday's meeting with the Pacers, marking his third straight absence. Jaden Ivey is also out because of health and safety protocols, while Hamidou Diallo (ankle) is likely out for the rest of the season. As a result, Killian Hayes, Cory Joseph, and R.J. Hampton should get plenty of minutes versus Indiana, making them all worthy of a start in deeper fantasy setups.

Thu Mar 9 202314:29Alec Burks Remains Unavailable Thursday
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Alec Burks (foot) will miss a second consecutive game Thursday against Charlotte. Burks is bothered by a sore left foot and will be unavailable for a third time in four games. The 31-year-old has had a good year in Motown, averaging 12.8 points in 22.0 minutes. Cory Joseph, R.J. Hampton and Rodney McGruder should soak in Burks' minutes Thursday.

Fri Mar 3 202320:17Alec Burks Won't Play Against The Cavs
Detroit Pistons guard Alec Burks (foot) won't play on Saturday against Cleveland. Detroit will also be without Bojan Bogdanovic (Achilles), Isaiah Stewart (hip), and Jalen Duren (ankle), so Killian Hayes, Hamidou Diallo, and Jaden Ivey could see a significant uptick on the scoring end. At the same time, James Wiseman and Marvin Bagley III should handle most of the minutes underneath the basket.

Wed Nov 23 202220:29Alec Burks Questionable For Wednesday
Detroit Pistons guard Alec Burks (rest) is considered questionable for Wednesday's game against the Utah Jazz. The 31-year-old made his team debut on November 11th and was already able to play in one back-to-back set. However, the Pistons don't want to push anything with Burks recently joining the team. Rodney McGruder would likely see increased playing time, assuming Burks is unable to play. However, McGruder normally doesn't do enough to warrant streaming in most fantasy formats.

Sat Nov 12 202215:16Alec Burks May Sit On Saturday
Detroit Pistons guard Alec Burks (foot) may not play in Saturday's meeting with Boston. The veteran made his 2022-23 debut on Friday night against the Knicks and finished with 17 points in 25 minutes of work, taking advantage of Cade Cunningham's (shin) absence. With Cunningham to miss his second consecutive outing, Burks should remain involved if he can suit up. However, it's possible he'll sit this one out for load management purposes, so Isaiah Livers, Killian Hayes, and Hamidou Diallo could see more minutes than usual, giving all three some upside in DFS formats.

Tue Nov 8 202221:17Alec Burks Questionable Wednesday
Detroit Pistons guard Alec Burks (foot) is listed as questionable Wednesday against the Boston Celtics. Burks has yet to make his season debut with his new team, but is nearing a return to the court after participating in the team's practice. The questionable tag is a good indicator he should be playing sooner rather than later. If Burks is able to go, he would likely cut into the playing time for Hamidou Diallo and Killian Hayes.
