Thu Mar 27 201409:04Chris Johnson expected to sign 10-day w/Kings
Chris Johnson is expected to sign a 10-day contract with the Kings.
Johnson still has to pass a physical, but he is expected to join the Kings on Thursday for their upcoming three-game trip. Even though Johnson is in game shape from his most recent stint with Zhejiang Guangsha of China, he isn't expected to see much playing time upon signing and can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

Thu Jul 11 201319:10Chris Johnson puts on 15 pounds this summer
Chris Johnson added 15 pounds of muscle to his frame this offseason.
It was a goal of Johnson to get to 230 over the summer and it would appear he reached his goal with plenty of time to spare. Johnson has a guaranteed minimum contract for the upcoming season, but doesn't figure to get much playing time while the Wolves are healthy.

Sat Jun 8 201319:20Chris Johnson's deal guaranteed for 2013-14
The Wolves have fully guaranteed Chris Johnson's minimum-salary contract for 2013-14.
Johnson was signed out of the D-League for emergency frontcourt depth in January, and his early guarantee could influence Minny's decision on Greg Stiemsma's $2.7 million team option. Rick Adelman praised Johnson's quickness and athleticism, but he reiterated that Johnson (6'11", 210 lbs.) needs to get stronger.

Fri Mar 15 201307:28Adelman wants Johnson to improve strength
Rick Adelman said that Chris Johnson "has to get stronger" before next season.
Johnson's deal for next year is non-guaranteed, so if he's looking to make the team out of training camp, he's going to have to come in and really impress. Johnson is nearly seven feet tall, but he's listed at just 210 pounds and that is an issue when he has to defend bigger bodies down low.

Fri Mar 1 201301:13Chris Johnson starts second half Thursday
Chris Johnson started the second half against the Lakers on Thursday and finished with five points, two boards, one assist, one steal and one block in 18 minutes.
Nikola Pekovic is out with an abdominal strain and Johnson figures to benefit the most. He's a capable shot blocker with 0.6 per game in just 11.0 minutes and is also shooting 68.3 percent from the field this year. He's only worth a look in very deep leagues and holds a little more value than Greg Stiemsma (two points, one board and no blocks in 13 minutes) unless blocks are at a premium.

Chris Johnson, who is on a 10-day deal that expires on Friday, is reportedly in discussions to sign a contract to remain with the Timberwolves for the 2013-14 season.
If Johnson does sign on for next season, it will probably be a non-guaranteed deal so the team can have him in training camp.

Tue Jan 29 201315:05Chris Johnson gets another 10 days
Timberwolves signed C Chris Johnson to a second 10-day contract.
Johnson has performed reasonably well as a desperation backup to Greg Stiemsma. But with Nikolva Pekovic (knee/quad) on the verge of a return, this will likely be his final stint with the Wolves.

Fri Jan 25 201321:51Chris Johnson scores nine points Friday
Chris Johnson played 21 minutes off the bench and had nine points, five boards, one steal and one block in a 114-101 loss to the Wizards on Friday.
He was signed out of desperation with Nikola Pekovic (quad) out and he's arguably had the best inside presence of any Minnesota player in his tenure. He might get another 10-day contract, which could have a negative impact on Greg Stiemsma (two points, two steals and a career-high six assists in 19 minutes) and Dante Cunnningham (eight points and five boards in 29 minutes). Johnson is only worth a look in very deep leagues since Pekovic shouldn't be out for too long.

Wed Jan 23 201323:15Chris Johnson solid again off Wolves' bench
Recently signed big man Chris Johnson had 12 points, six rebounds, two assists and three blocks for the Wolves on Wednesday.
Johnson caught our eye with a 15-point debut, but followed that up with a four-point, five-foul dud on Sunday. He's worth keeping an eye on with half of the Wolves' roster on the injured list.

Mon Jan 21 201317:24Chris Johnson awful in second game w/ MIN
After scoring 15 points in his Wolves' debut, Chris Johnson had only four points and one rebound in 10 minutes during Monday's loss.
The backup big man, who was recently called up from the D-League, committed five fouls in his limited time on the court. Suffice to say, he's not worth fantasy attention.

Sat Jan 19 201323:25Chris Johnson has career-high 15 points
Chris Johnson made all four field goals and shot 7-of-8 from the line for a career-high 15 points, six boards and one block in 18 minutes against the Rockets on Saturday.
He was signed this morning and he made quite a splash with an exceptional fourth quarter. Johnson averaged 10.9 points in his 14 D-League games this year and he'll need a slew of things to fall his way to have value in even deep leagues.

Sun Apr 1 201222:35Chris Johnson leaves w/ concussion
Chris Johnson suffered a concussion during Sunday's game, and he will not return.
Hopefully it's not serious, but we all know the drill at this point -- Johnson will need to pass league-mandated tests before he's allowed to return. With Chris Kaman back in action, his absence doesn't have a big impact in fantasy leagues.

Sat Mar 31 201217:56Chris Johnson signed for rest of season
Hornets big man Chris Johnson, who was recently signed for the rest of the season, celebrated on Saturday with six points, eight rebounds and four steals in a season-high 26 minutes.
Johnson played heavy minutes by default with Chris Kaman, Carl Landry and Gustavo Ayon all sidelined, and we'll need to see a few more solid games before buying into him as a reliable option.
