Free agent Gary Forbes will work out for the Lakers Tuesday.
Forbes, who played in China last season, is also expected to work out for the Knicks next week. Both teams are just looking to fill out their rosters at this point, although Forbes could see some minutes with the Lakers if Kobe Bryant misses time this season.

Wed Jul 11 201212:11Gary Forbes officially traded to Rockets
Gary Forbes has officially been traded to the Rockets as part of the deal for Kyle Lowry.
Forbes hasn't averaged 15 minutes per game in either of his two NBA seasons, with the Nuggets and Raptors, and he's unlikely to emerge with a major role in Houston.

Mon Apr 9 201200:12Gary Forbes scores eight in return
Gary Forbes returned from a sore knee on Sunday and had eight points and two 3-pointers in 15 minutes.
As long as Jose Calderon is healthy, Forbes will struggle to offer much fantasy value.

Fri Apr 6 201211:23Gary Forbes ruled out on Friday with bum knee
Gary Forbes (knee) won't play on Friday against the Cavs.
Forbes has missed two straight games with the injury and will miss his third straight on Friday. This news should have no impact on fantasy owners in standard-sized leagues with DeMar DeRozan, James Johnson, Linas Kleiza and Alan Anderson all healthy.

Wed Apr 4 201209:03Gary Forbes likely game-time call Wednesday
Gary Forbes (knee) will "likely" be a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against the Sixers.
Forbes is dealing with soreness, so there is no reason to be overly concerned. Regardless, his fantasy prospects have come crashing back down to earth with DeMar DeRozan, James Johnson and Linas Kleiza all playing in front of him.

Tue Apr 3 201218:29Gary Forbes out on Tuesday
Gary Forbes (knee) will not play in Tuesday's game against the Bobcats.
Forbes has some soreness in his left knee. He's fallen off the fantasy radar anyway now that DeMar DeRozan, James Johnson and Linas Kleiza are all healthy.

Fri Mar 30 201223:18Forbes crashes to Earth on Friday vs. MIA
Gary Forbes scored eight points on 3-of-5 shooting (including a three) with one rebound in 19 minutes on Friday.
This is more like it, unfortunately, as it was unlikely that Forbes could continue to produce in such a limited role. Go ahead and drop him for a free agent.

Thu Mar 29 201201:07Gary Forbes double-doubles in 19 minutes
Gary Forbes had 11 points, 10 assists and three 3-pointers on Wednesday, despite being limited to just 19 minutes.
Forbes is now the backup point guard in Toronto, and while his minutes took a big hit with the return of DeMar DeRozan, he still managed to get it done. But with both Jose Calderon and DeRozan now healthy, nights like this may be few and far between. If you recently picked him up, you might as well ride him until he cools off, but he needs a lot more minutes than 19 to be able to put up fantasy-worthy numbers on a nightly basis.

Tue Mar 27 201200:36Gary Forbes goes off once again
Making his second straight start in place of DeMar DeRozan (ankle), Gary Forbes had 21 points and four 3-pointers in Monday's loss to the Magic.
With DeRozan and Jerryd Bayless (hip) both sidelined, Forbes has been thrust into a prominent role out of desperation. Over the last three games, he's averaging 17.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.3 3-pointers per night. Owners combing the wire should note that Forbes came into Monday as a career 27.8 percent 3-point shooter and that DeRozan/Bayless are both merely day-to-day.

Sat Mar 24 201223:00Gary Forbes has 12 & 13 in start for DeRozan
Gary Forbes started at SG in place of injured DeMar DeRozan (ankle) on Saturday, scoring 12 points on 6-of-16 shooting, with a season-high 13 rebounds, one steal and one block in 47 minutes.
Forbes dropped 19 points in 20 minutes on Friday, but anyone considering him as a FA should remember two things: DeRozan's injury doesn't seem serious and he's listed as day-to-day, and this was just the fifth time all season that Forbes has scored double-digit points.

Sat Mar 24 201201:03Forbes scores 19 points off the bench
Gary Forbes scored 19 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 8-of-12 shots from the field (no threes) with six rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 20 minutes.
Forbes is a name to keep in the back of your head, as Jerryd Bayless (hip) is having trouble staying healthy and DeMar DeRozan had a minor ankle injury tonight. Bayless has been ruled out so far for Saturday's game against the Bulls, while DeRozan sounds like he's a go, leaving Forbes as a spot-option only in deep formats as of right now.

Sat Mar 17 201201:08Gary Forbes scores career-high 20 points
Gary Forbes backed up Jerryd Bayless at point guard and finished Friday's win with a career-high 20 points in just 22 minutes.
He also had four rebounds, two assists and a 3-pointer, but is only worth keeping an eye on. This was flukey, and Jose Calderon should be back soon from his ankle injury.

Sun Mar 11 201201:42Forbes plays after having dental procedure
Gary Forbes returned to action on Saturday after recently having a "dental procedure," and had 12 points in 16 minutes off the bench.
Forbes hit two 3-pointers, and the points are nice, but his playing time is too limited and erratic to rely on him for fantasy value.

Wed Mar 7 201218:20Gary Forbes will be active on Wednesday
Gary Forbes (dental procedure) will be active on Wednesday.
However, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll play. Forbes has appeared in just two of Toronto's last 12 games and is averaging only 3.3 points per game this season.

Wed Mar 7 201211:57Gary Forbes a game-time decision Wednesday
Gary Forbes (dental procedure) is a game-time decision on Wednesday.
Forbes had an emergency dental procedure on Wednesday morning and is a game-time decision as a result. The fact that he hasn't been had a blurb in over a month tells you all you need to know about his relevance to fantasy owners this season.

Fri Jan 20 201223:48Forbes plays 11 minutes in loss on Friday
Gary Forbes played just 11 minutes on Friday, scoring three points on 1-of-5 shooting with three rebounds, one assist, and three turnovers.
This is a momentum killer for Forbes, who is coming off a season-high 18 points on Wednesday. Until he provides some consistency, he should be watched from a very far distance.

Wed Jan 18 201223:39Gary Forbes scores 18 in loss to Celtics
Gary Forbes got hot and hit 5-of-6 shots and a 3-pointer for a season-high 18 points in 19 minutes of Wednesday's loss.
With Jerryd Bayless out, Forbes has been playing some back up point guard, and is also a candidate for heavy minutes at small forward if the James Johnson experiment fails. Forbes has had some decent lines this season, but his minutes are too inconsistent for fantasy use right now. Just keep an eye on him.

Sat Jan 14 201223:15Gary Forbes back in Raptors rotation
Gary Forbes had five points, eight rebounds, five assists, a steal and 3-pointer on 2-of-6 shooting in just 16 minutes of action on Saturday.
Forbes has actually been playing out of position at point guard, helping to back up Jose Calderon with Jerryd Bayless out with a sprained ankle. And given how badly James Johnson and Rasual Butler have played thus far, it wouldn't be a shock to see Forbes see a minutes increase at small forward once Bayless is back. He's not worth owning right now, but keep an eye on him.
