Beckum signed with the Saints on Wednesday.
Beckum spent his first three seasons with the Giants; however, his career took a downward turn in New York's 2012 Super Bowl victory, when Beckum suffered a torn ACL in the second quarter. Since then, Beckhum has spent time on injured reserve, in addition to being signed by the Seahawks last February. Ultimately, Beckum couldn't stick with Seattle, who released him in May. Now, Beckum will aim to show the Saints' coaching staff he is healthy enough to merit a roster spot.

Travis Beckum (ACL surgery) declined to put a target date on his return.
Beckum tore his right ACL in the first half of the Super Bowl. "If I were to say I wanted to be back by Week 1, that's putting pressure on myself," he said. "And I think that's what happens with these guys. They want to get back too soon, put the pressure on themselves, then come back and re-tear it. I'm going to try to be smart about it." Mon May 7 201211:36'Pretty good chance' Beckum ready for Week 1
According to the New York Daily News, there's a "pretty good chance" Giants TE Travis Beckum (torn ACL) will be ready for the start of the regular season.
"If everything works out, yeah," Beckum said. Beckum is still only two months removed from surgery, so color us skeptical. Even with Jake Ballard (torn ACL) in danger of missing the entire year, the G-Men have little incentive to rush Beckum back after signing Martellus Bennett and drafting Adrien Robinson. Beckum remains a strong candidate for the PUP list.

Sat Apr 21 201210:38Beckum 'further along' than Ballard
Giants TE Travis Beckum is "further along" in his recovery from a torn ACL than teammate Jake Ballard, who also underwent microfracture surgery.
Beckum is "far more advanced" in his rehab after getting a nearly six-week head start. "It sucks but it's a part of the game," Beckum said. "Obviously, I'm mentally here for Jake and we kind of push each other." Beckum is the far better bet to suit up this season, but neither player is guaranteed of playing a down.

Wed Apr 4 201210:25Beckum: Good chance I'll be ready for season
After a recent medical checkup, Giants TE Travis Beckum (ACL surgery) suggested there is a "very good chance" he will be ready for the start of the 2012 season.
Skepticism is advised. Beckum will be just seven months removed from surgery by Week 1. While it's a good sign that he's ahead of schedule, Beckum's progress will likely have little effect on the Giants' draft plans.
