Wright was listed as probable and expected to play, so he'll be lined up at strong safety. He'll likely help out trying to defend Julius Thomas on occasion.
Fri Oct 9 201515:41Wright (abdomen) probable for Sunday's game against Jaguars
Wright (abdomen) is probable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
It seems likely Wright will return to the field after missing the last three weeks with an injury to his abdomen. While Chris Conte performed admirably during his stay, Wright will most likely regain the starting strong safety job if he can return to the field Sunday.

Wright (abdomen) turned in a second consecutive full practice session Thursday, Joe Kania of the Buccaneers official site reports.
Wright appears set to retake the field in Week 5 against the Jaguars. Although Chris Conte turned in three consecutive solid performances while he was sidelined, Wright is expected to regain the starting strong safety job come Sunday.
Wed Oct 7 201521:37Wright (abdomen) full participant in practice Wednesday
Wright (abdomen) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Joe Kania of the Buccaneers official site reports.
The unrestricted participation falls in line with the activity level Wright had built up leading into the Week 4 matchup against the Panthers. Wright is clearly trending towards finally retaking the field Sunday against the Jaguars, and another day of full participation Thursday would further confirm this. However, with Chris Conte's strong performances over the last three contests in Wright's place, it remains to be seen if there will be any timeshare at the strong safety position in the immediate future.
Sun Oct 4 201512:02Wright (abdomen) inactive for Sunday's contest against Panthers
Wright (abdomen) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Panthers, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Wright built up to a full practice by week's end but will nonetheless miss his third game in a row due to an abdominal injury. In his stead, Chris Conte (hip) will again serve as the starting strong safety.

Wright (abdomen) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Wright returned to a full practice Friday, after logging limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday. The increased activity level would typically point strongly to active status come Sunday, but the Bucs have been rather unconventional/difficult with their approach to the injury reports this season. Chris Conte has done a nice job filling in, but Wright is tentatively expected to regain his starting job upon returning.
Thu Oct 1 201523:50Wright(abdomen) limited participant in practice for second conse...
Wright(abdomen) was a limited participant in practice for the second consecutive day Thursday.
Wright has certainly elevated his activity level over last week, but his availability for Week 4 remains in question. If Wright is forced to miss a third straight game or can only be used sparingly in Week 4, Chris Conte (hip) appears ready to step in once more.
Wed Sep 30 201523:01Wright (abdomen) limited participant in practice Wednesday
Wright (abdomen) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Joe Kania of the Buccaneers official site reports.
The partial participation was actually an improvement over last week for Wright, who sat out practice altogether leading up to Week 3. Wright would likely regain his starting strong safety spot upon returning to the field, although veteran Chris Conte has done an admirable job in his place over the last two games.
Sun Sep 27 201511:52Wright (abdomen) inactive for Sunday's game in Houston
Wright (abdomen) is inactive for Sunday's game in Houston, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
With Wright out for a second consecutive week, he'll yield strong safety to Chris Conte, who has racked up 11 solo tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble this season.
Fri Sep 25 201515:38Wright (abdomen) doubtful for Sunday's game against Texans
Wright (abdomen) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Texans, FOX Sports 1's Jenna Laine reports.
With Wright expected to miss a second straight game, the Bucs may again rotate Chris Conte and D.J. Swearinger (shoulder) next to Bradley McDougald. None of the Tampa Bay safeties makes for a strong IDP option, but Conte does lead the bunch with 11 tackles through two games.
Thu Sep 24 201523:13Wright (abdomen) remained sidelined at practice Thursday
Wright (abdomen) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Joe Kania of the team's official site reports.
Wright's status for Week 3 appears increasingly bleak with each missed day of practice. It remains to be seen if the Bucs will utilize a combination of Chris Conte and D.J. Swearinger, as they did in Week 2, to replace Wright if he is unable to go against the Texans.
Wed Sep 23 201522:36Wright (abdomen) did not practice Wednesday
Wright (abdomen) did not practice Wednesday, Joe Kania of the team's official website reports.
The sixth-year veteran exited the opener after only 18 snaps, and missed the Week 2 tilt against the Saints. Chris Conte filled in admirably for Wright against New Orleans, tallying six tackles and an interception over 43 plays on defense. With fellow safety D.J. Swearinger, who also pitched in with 29 snaps in Week 2, ailing with a shoulder injury as well, the Bucs' strong safety picture for Week 3 against the Texans remains muddled.
Sun Sep 20 201512:11Wright (hip) inactive Sunday against Saints
Wright (hip) is inactive Sunday against the Saints, Greg Auman of the Tampa Times reports.
Wright is the Bucs' starting strong safety and will be missed against the potent Saints' offense. DJ Swearinger should make the start in Wright's place.
Fri Sep 18 201519:20Wright (hip out for Sunday's game against Saints
Wright (hip is out for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Wright didn't practice all week, suggesting his Week 3 availability is also in doubt. D.J. Swearinger is expected to fill in as the starter next to Bradley McDougald on Sunday.
Thu Sep 17 201522:57Wright (abdomen) non-participant in Thursday's practice
Wright (abdomen) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice, Joe Kania of the Bucs' official site reports.
Wright logged seven starts for the Bucs last season and opened the season as the starting strong safety, recording two tackles (one solo) and one pass defensed in 18 snaps against the Titans. Third-year pro D.J. Swearinger would step into Wright's starting role in Week 2 against the Saints if the sixth-year veteran's injury prevents him from taking the field.
Sat Dec 20 201416:13Tampa Bay placed Wright (ribs) on season-ending IR
Tampa Bay placed Wright (ribs) on season-ending IR, NFL.com reports.
The Buccaneers don't have much to play for, so they opted to rest Wright over the next two weeks rather than try to get another game out of him. Brad McDougald is the likely replacement.
Fri Dec 19 201419:06Wright (ribs) out for Sunday's game against Green Bay
Wright (ribs) is out for Sunday's game against Green Bay.
Wright was able to practice in a limited capacity Thursday and Friday, so he might be able to return in Week 17.
Sun Dec 14 201411:48Wright (ribs) inactive for Sunday's matchup against Panthers
Wright (ribs) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Panthers.
Wright didn't see the practice field Thursday or Friday, so it's not much of a surprise to see him sit this one out. Look for Bradley McDougald to see yet another week of extra reps in the Tampa Bay secondary.
Fri Dec 12 201415:36Wright (ribs) questionable for Sunday's game against Carolina
Wright (ribs) is questionable for Sunday's game against Carolina.
Wright is expected to miss this game, despite technically avoiding an 'out' declaration. He didn't practice Thursday or Friday.

Wright (ribs) was not at practice Friday, and the Tampa Bay Times' Greg Auman believes the safety will likely miss Sunday's game against Carolina.
We'll wait and see how the Buccaneers list him on their official injury designations, but anyone planning to deploy Wright this weekend should begin the search for a Plan B.
