Thu May 22 201423:19T-Mac makes second start in minors
Tracy McGrady made his second minor league start and went 2.2 innings on Thursday, allowing no runs, one hit and four walks.
He didn't strike anyone out and only threw 28 of his 58 pitches for strikes. McGrady took the loss in his 1.2 innings during his debut on May 10 while walking two and giving up a homer, so it would appear he has a better chance of making it back in the NBA than getting to the majors. Yes, we're reaching for news a bit here with the NBA playoffs on hold until Saturday.

Tue Sep 3 201309:25Tracy McGrady may still sign w/ Chinese team
Tracy McGrady is "highly likely" sign with the Chinese team Sichuan Jinqiang Whale, assuming the team is admitted to the CBA this season.
T-Mac has had success in the CBA and he's hugely popular after playing alongside Yao Ming for years. His "demand of an annual salary of at least $2 million" seems to have scared off a few potential suitors in China, but at least one team might be willing to extend his playing career.

Tracy McGrady said he's retiring from the NBA on Monday.
"It's been 16 years playing the game I love. I've had a great run, but it's time for it to come to an end," McGrady said. The Spurs signed him for their postseason run, but he did not see any playing time. He's a seven-time All Star and won the league's scoring title in 2002-03. T-Mac could end up continuing his career overseas.

Tracy McGrady wrote on Saturday that he'll soon decide whether to return to the Chinese Basketball Association or the NBA.
T-Mac made six cameos with the Spurs in the playoffs last season, but it's doubtful whether an NBA team would give him a guaranteed deal at this stage of his career. In his first CBA season he averaged a healthy 25.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

Tracy McGrady may return to play in the China Basketball Association this season.
"For those who have played years in NBA and still want to prolong their career like me, CBA is a great alternative," said McGrady. He served as emergency depth during the Spurs' playoff run last year and is unlikely to find another guaranteed deal in the NBA, but it doesn't sound like he's ready to retire.

Wed Jun 5 201313:32McGrady will consider retirement after finals
Tracy McGrady will consider retirement after the NBA Finals.
It's hardly a surprise. T-Mac spent the season in China before being brought in as an insurance policy by the Spurs. We expect this will be his last season in the NBA.

Sun Apr 28 201321:32Tracy McGrady finally going to second round
Tracy McGrady played five minutes, missed his only shot and failed to score in Sunday's Game 4, and will finally advance to Round 2 of the playoffs for the first time in his career after the Spurs easily swept the lifeless and injured Lakers.
He made his Spurs debut tonight in garbage time, but it's hard to imagine him having much of an impact for the Spurs this postseason.

Fri Apr 26 201322:02Tracy McGrady will not player vs. LAL
Tracy McGrady is not active for the Spurs on Friday.
The signing of T-Mac was a good bit of fun on April 16, but he's looking like just some emergency depth. The good news is that it looks like his team will be advancing to the second round.

Wed Apr 24 201309:33McGrady likely to be inactive for Game 2
Tracy McGrady is unlikely to be active for Game 2.
T-Mac was inactive for Game 1, and Gregg Popovich said the team is "going real slow" with the veteran, again referring to him as an insurance policy. He's not going to make a significant contribution at any point in the near future.

Sun Apr 21 201315:32Tracy McGrady is inactive for Sunday's game
Tracy McGrady is inactive for Sunday's Game 1 vs. the Lakers.
Well, it would have been fun to see T-Mac out there, but we're going to have to wait a little longer. The Spurs have some depth on the wing with Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard and Manu Ginobili expected to play 25-30 minutes, so they shouldn't miss McGrady too much.

Wed Apr 17 201311:40T-Mac might not be ready for a couple weeks
Tracy McGrady will not play on Wednesday, and he may not be ready for a couple of weeks, according to Gregg Popovich.
If he's really not going to be ready for a couple of weeks, it's hard to understand why the Spurs signed him instead of someone who could contribute immediately. It will be interesting to see what kind of impact he has during the playoffs if he has one at all.

Tue Apr 16 201316:32Spurs dust off former All-Star Tracy McGrady
Spurs signed G/F Tracy McGrady.
Yes, that Tracy McGrady. The seven-time All-Star, two-time All-NBA first-teamer and two-time scoring champ hasn't appeared in an NBA game since last year's playoffs. But he's still "just" 33 years old and has spent this season dominating the Chinese league. With Stephen Jackson kicked to the curb by coach Gregg Popovich, McGrady might actually see some bit minutes in the playoffs. It remains to be seen if his balky knees and back can hold up to the physicality of the NBA game.

Thu Jan 10 201318:49Tracy McGrady whining about refs in China
Tracy McGrady's team in China has a 2-17 record, and he recently threatened to leave if the league's officiating doesn't improve.
"This bad officiating has to change," McGrady wrote. "No way I'm coming back if the officiating continues to be this errant." It's discouraging that the former All-Star is publicly pointing fingers after 19 games in a new league, and he should probably focus on improving his 27.8 percent shooting from downtown. It's very unlikely that we'll see him in the NBA again.

Tue Oct 9 201218:22McGrady signs a deal with Qingdao in China
Tracy McGrady has signed a one-year deal with Qingdao of the Chinese Basketball Association.
It would appear that no NBA team was willing to roll the dice on the oft-injured swingman. The NBA's scoring champ from the 2002-03 season may have taken his last shot in the NBA.

Mon Oct 8 201220:33McGrady finalizing one-year deal in China
Tracy McGrady is finalizing a one-year deal to play with Qingdao of the Chinese Basketball Association.
Playing with Yao Ming made him a star in China, so after he could not secure an NBA deal this move made logical sense. It's possible we won't see him in an NBA uniform ever again.

Wed Oct 3 201210:52Tracy McGrady focused on staying in NBA
Tracy Mcgrady, who is drawing interest from a team in China, is focused on signing with an NBA team.
T-Mac wants to play for a contender, but his market has been bone dry other than a couple of workouts late in free agency. It will likely take an injury in training camp for a contender to really consider McGrady for a bench role.

Fri Sep 14 201210:13McGrady 'in good health' at Knicks workout
Tracy McGrady "appeared to be in good health" during his Knicks workout, a source tells ESPN New York.
However, "it doesn't appear that a signing is imminent," which should surprise nobody considering T-Mac isn't really a good fit for the final spot on the Knicks roster. It's more likely that New York uses its final roster spot on a big man.
