James will get extra playing time during the preseason after Brad Beal (fractured wrist) and Glen Rice (sprained ankle) suffered injuries, CSN Washington's J. Michael reports.
Rice may be back for the start of the season but Beal is out for 6-to-8 weeks. James, Rasual Butler and Xavier Silas have thus seen their chances to make the roster improve, though none of the bunch figures to have a huge role, as the Wizards will likely use point guard Garrett Temple and small forward Otto Porter to cover some of Beal's minutes.
Fri Sep 19 201410:29James signed with Wizards on Thursday
James signed with the Wizards on Thursday, RealGM reports.
It's likely just a training camp deal for the Texas product, who has bounced around since being selected in the first round by the Nets in 2010. James saw time in five games for the Spurs last season, making one start and averaging 1.2 points and 2.4 rebounds.
Mon Apr 14 201422:55Damion James starts on Monday night
Damion James started against the Rockets on Monday with six points, nine boards, two assists, one block and one turnover in 29 minutes.
Yep, it was that kind of party for the Spurs with several players getting plenty of rest tonight. Coach Gregg Popovich joked about James earlier this season when he joined them and was asked about how the forward will help. "If we're ahead by 20 or down by 20, we might find out," Popovich said. James made his 17th start of his career tonight.

Thu Apr 3 201411:48Spurs sign Damion James to 10-day
Spurs sign F Damion James.
With the Spurs playing the second half of a back-to-back set tonight, then another one on Apr. 10 and 11, it makes sense to add James to their roster. They may have lost Austin Daye for a bit with a lat strain and James should see some time on the court as soon as tonight. He might actually guard college teammate Kevin Durant for some point during tonight's game.

Wed Apr 2 201416:02Damion James to sign a 10-day deal
Damion James will sign a 10-day deal with the Spurs.
The first thing to come to mind here is that Austin Daye's lat strain could cost him time. The Spurs are going to rest some players over the next two weeks, so added healthy depth is high on the priority list. For all we know, James could get a couple starts, but he's not worth owning in almost any league yet.

Fri Sep 13 201311:27Damion James gets invite to Nuggets camp
Damion James will be in training camp with the Nuggets on an non-guaranteed invite.
James last played for the Nets and has seen his career slowed down by a foot injury that has been tough to overcome. He's reportedly healthy but whether or not he lands on an NBA roster remains to be seen. His chances of making the Nuggets' final roster aren't great, but it could happen if he has a great camp.

Sun Jul 21 201310:36Damion James healthy, hopes for NBA deal
Damion James said that his surgically-repaired right foot is "100 percent, ready to go," and he's eager to land a new NBA contract.
James played for Miami's Summer League team but hasn't yet been invited to training camp, much less offered a guaranteed deal. He averaged 15.7 points and 6.4 rebounds in the D-League last year but shot just 41.2 percent from the field, and will need to prove he can stay healthy after having two foot surgeries in two seasons.

Damion James will head back to the D-League after the Nets chose not to re-sign him.

Sun Jan 13 201309:36Nets sign Damion James on 10-day contract
Nets sign SF Damion James to a 10-day contract.
James was with the Nets for two injury-plagued seasons before going unsigned as an unrestricted FA this summer. There's too much competition in Brooklyn to think that he'll have a substantial role on a temporary deal.

Tue Oct 23 201208:22Damion James impressing in training camp
Damion James has "impressed" in the preseason and could have a leg up for a roster spot.
James is on a "make good" contract, and because he can contribute on the wing and is relatively young, it wouldn't be surprising to see him stick around as depth.

Thu Sep 13 201211:11James, Anderson to compete for roster spot
Damion James and James Anderson will compete for a roster spot in training camp.
Both 2010 first-round picks need a fresh start, but it sounds like only one will make the final roster. With the team looking to "fill the role of defensive-minded wing," the two players will battle it out to be a part of the second unit. Neither is a fantasy option.

Tue Sep 11 201215:13Hawks sign Damion James to one-year deal
The Hawks and SF Damion James have agreed to terms on a one-year deal, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Injuries have derailed James each of his two seasons in the NBA -- he appeared in only 32 total games for the Nets, averaging 4.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks in 18 minutes per game. Those per-minute stats are intriguing, but his outlook is dimmed by all the competition at SF in Atlanta (Josh Smith, Anthony Morrow, DeShawn Stevenson).

Damion James will visit one more team this weekend and then make his decision.
No word yet if this James decision will be a nationally-televised event. No matter where his talents wind up, the Longhorn has struggled to stay healthy and won't be a noteworthy contributor this season.

Wed Jan 25 201211:14Nets won't pick up Damion James' option
Nets will not pick up the contract option of F Damion James.
No surprise here, as James has missed huge portions of both his first two years as he deals with ongoing problems in his surgically-repaired foot. He'll look to latch on with another team in the offseason.
