Fri Apr 3 201513:48Flores released by Braves on Friday
Flores was released by the Braves on Friday.
Flores was a long shot to earn a roster spot over either Christian Bethancourt or A.J. Pierzynski, and his .179 (5-for-28) spring batting average certainly did not help. Flores has not appeared in the majors since 2012, but he should be able to land a minor league job somewhere.
Fri Jan 30 201512:15Flores has signed minor league deal with Braves
Flores has signed a minor league deal with the Braves, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
A former back-up for the Nationals, Flores has fallen onto hard times, hitting .200 in Triple-A for the Rays, Dodgers, and Royals' affiliates across the last two seasons. He will compete for a back-up spot in spring training, but it's doubtful he comes anywhere close to the major league roster without an injury to Christian Bethancourt and A.J. Pierzynski.

Nationals non-tender C Jesus Flores.
With Wilson Ramos and Kurt Suzuki handling the catching duties, Flores appears to be the odd man out. The 27-year-old had a disappointing season, hitting .213/.248/.329 with six homers and 26 RBI in 2012.

Fri Nov 30 201214:38Mets looking at Nats' catchers
Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com hears that the Mets are eyeing Jesus Flores and Carlos Maldonado of the Nationals in their search for catching help.
Flores is a former Mets farmhand that the Nats picked up in the Rule 5 Draft. He's batted .241/.289/.375 over parts of five seasons with Washington. Either he or Maldonado would likely be used in a platoon role with Josh Thole.

Tue Aug 21 201222:48Jesus Flores' three-run shot bests Braves
Jesus Flores launched a three-run homer Tuesday night in the Nationals' 4-1 defeat of the Braves.
The critical blast off Paul Maholm in the fifth inning was his only hit in three trips to the plate. Flores is batting just .218 on the season with four homers and 22 RBI, and has been losing at-bats to Kurt Suzuki over the past few weeks. They're both weak fantasy options.

Sat Jul 14 201221:44Flores plates lone run in loss to Marlins
Jesus Flores went 2-for-3 and drove home the Nationals' lone run Saturday in a loss to the Marlins.
Flores delivered an RBI single off Mark Buehrle in the fifth inning, scoring Ian Desmond and tying the game at 1-1. While Flores doesn't possess the same dynamic talent as Wilson Ramos, he has done a serviceable job as his fill-in, hitting .238 with three homers and 16 RBI since being forced into regular duty. Flores remains a playable option for those in deep two-catcher leagues.

Flores has taken over as the Nationals' starting catcher in the wake of Wilson Ramos' ACL tear. The 27-year-old is batting just .231/.273/.256 so far this season but has shown flashes of offensive production in the past when given regular playing time. He's worth owning in NL-only fantasy leagues.

Sat Mar 3 201216:44Jesus Flores doubles twice for Nationals
Jesus Flores doubled twice and drove in the Nationals' lone run Saturday against the Astros.
A healthy Flores could be the game's best backup catcher, but considering that he's played in just 59 games the last three years, there is reason for skepticism. His shoulder is supposed to be sound now, so he'll likely get a lot of action this spring.

Jesus Flores is 11-for-18 through his first four games in the Venezuelan Winter League.
The Nationals are expected to shop Flores this offseason in order to clear more playing time for young catcher Wilson Ramos. The 26-year-old Flores will only help his stock with a big winter league stat line.
