Fri Jul 4 201413:53Roger Mason Jr. won't play in Summer League
Roger Mason Jr. (back) will not be joining the Pacers' Summer League team in Orlando.
He was going to try and give it a go but a recent back injury will keep him out of action. It's not clear if Mason Jr. will sign on with a team for the 2014-15 season, but even if he does, he is not a fantasy option in any format.

Fri Jun 27 201416:48Roger Mason Jr. to play in Summer League
33-year-old guard Roger Mason Jr. will reportedly play for the Pacers' Summer League team.
Mason Jr. has bounced around the leagues a lot during his career, spending time with Chicago, Washington, San Antonio, New York, New Orleans, Miami, and Toronto. Mason's greatest asset is his shooting, as he's shot 38.3 percent from beyond the arc throughout his career, and he will attempt to showcase himself this summer as a guy who can still offer something to an NBA team.

Thu Feb 20 201411:30Roger Mason dealt to Kings, will be waived
Heat guard Roger Mason has been traded to the Kings and will be waived, according to CBSSports.
Mason will likely become an unrestricted free agent, so we won't know where he'll land for several days. Not that it matters in fantasyland. The Heat are expected to receive a highly-protected second-round pick to complete the deal, but that pick will probably never end up being moved. Can you feel the excitement?

Sun Dec 8 201320:55Roger Mason Jr. scores 12 points w/ Wade out
Roger Mason Jr. took advantage of extra playing time to score a season-high 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting from downtown vs. the Pistons on Sunday.
The veteran SG logged 23 minutes off the bench. He might have specialist appeal if Dwyane Wade (knees) were ruled out for an extended period of time, but with Wade day-to-day there's no incentive to own Mason Jr. in any leagues.

Wed Oct 30 201318:26Roger Mason will start against the Sixers
Roger Mason will start at shooting guard on Wednesday in place of Dwyane Wade (rest).
He was on the inactive list last night and is unlikely to see too many minutes tonight. Mason is more famous for his "how u" mistake on Twitter than his play on the court, so owners in very deep leagues are better using guys like James Jones or Shane Battier as plug-in options.

Wed Oct 16 201310:15Report: Roger Mason Jr. makes Heat roster
Roger Mason Jr. has already made Miami's regular season roster, according to Ethan Skolnick of Turner Sports.
Mason is a career 38.4 percent shooter from downtown, and he'll be asked to fill some of the court-spacing duties left vacant when Mike Miller signed with Memphis. It's nice to see the VP of the NBA Players Association make an active roster, but his role isn't conducive to fantasy value.

Tue Sep 24 201320:32Heat working out Roger Mason Jr.
The Heat are working out free agent guard Roger Mason Jr., who is now the vice president of the player's union.
He appeared in 69 games for the Hornets last year, averaging 5.3 points on .433 shooting, along with 66 3-pointers on the season. The Heat have 13 players under contract, meaning Mason has a chance to make the team's final roster. And if he does, he'll be nothing more than a 3-point specialist, as usual.

Wed Aug 21 201309:34Roger Mason Jr. lone NBPA president candidate
Roger Mason Jr. is the only announced candidate to replace Derek Fisher as president of the NBA Players Association.
The NBPA is still combatting a wrongful-termination lawsuit from former union executive director Billy Hunter, who was fired last season after being accused of nepotism. Mason Jr.'s probable ascension to the presidency is a welcome step away from that debacle, and once the executive director position is filled the NBA might finally agree on standards for HGH testing. Possible candidate to replace Hunter include Steve Mills, Fred Whitfield and Stu Jackson, according to Fox Sports, while the New York Times refutes reports that Isiah Thomas is in the mix.

Thu Aug 15 201313:44Roger Mason will run for president of NBPA
Roger Mason said that he will run for president of the National Basketball Players Association.
Outside of Mason's "looking like a season. How u," tweet during the NBA lockout in 2011, he hasn't really been in the headlines. He is still unsigned and is unlikely to make much of an impact on the court this season.

Thu Jan 31 201302:51Roger Mason starts for Gordon, scores 9
Roger Mason started at shooting guard for Eric Gordon (resting knee) and had nine points, three assists, a steal, a block and three 3-pointers Wednesday.
He'll go right back to the bench once Gordon is back, which should be Friday at Atlanta.

Thu Jan 10 201300:22Roger Mason scores 17 in comeback win
Roger Mason caught fire in the fourth quarter and finished with a season-high 17 points, five rebounds, a steal, a block and three 3-pointers on 6-of-7 shooting.
This was Mason's sixth double-figure scoring game of the season and he simply got hot late. Ignore him in all but the deepest of leagues.

Sun Dec 9 201209:47Mason Jr. on his way out as starting SG?
Roger Mason Jr. played just 15 minutes on Saturday, and he could be on the bubble as the Hornets' starting SG.
Monty Williams said recently that he would shake up the backcourt if he didn't see defensive improvement, but it's not as though Austin Rivers or Darius Miller have done anything to deserve a promotion. No matter whose starting, fantasy owners should swerve to avoid Mason Jr.

Sat Nov 24 201201:46Roger Mason scores nine in start for NOH
Roger Mason started at shooting guard over rookie Austin Rivers and had nine points, seven rebounds, two assists, a steal and three 3-pointers on 3-of-12 shooting.
The shooting was obviously awful, but the rest of his line looked pretty good. Rivers had just three points in 16 minutes and dropping him for Mason in deep leagues makes some sense, but only if Mason is going to hold onto the job long term. And we just don't know if it's going to happen or not.

Fri Nov 23 201219:41Mason starting over Rivers for Hornets
Roger Mason will start over rookie Austin Rivers for the Hornets on Friday.
Anthony Davis will miss another game with his ankle injury, and Monty Williams will apparently see what Mason can do as a starter. If Mason were to win this job outright, he'll be worth keeping an eye on deeper fantasy leagues.

Tue Oct 23 201203:23Mason scores eight points off the bench
Roger Mason scored eight points off the bench on Monday, hitting 3-of-9 shots (including two threes) with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 19 minutes.
If Austin Rivers' ankle injury keeps him out for any length of time, then Mason will carry some short-term value for his 3-point shooting and that's it.

Thu Aug 9 201209:48Mason came to Hornets for playing time
Roger Mason said that he signed with the Hornets because it "presented the best opportunity for me on the court."
Mason had drawn interest from the Lakers, Thunder and Bulls, but those teams couldn't offer a big role off the bench, and that's what he "expects to play for the Hornets." Mason also revealed that the opportunity to be a veteran leader in a young organization appealed to him as well. He's expected to serve as the backup shooting guard behind Eric Gordon.

Sat Aug 4 201212:54Hornets sign G Roger Mason
Hornets sign G Roger Mason.
Mason gives the neophyte Hornets some veteran guidance, but won't emerge with a fantasy-worthy role unless Eric Gordon misses time with an injury. For his career, Mason has averaged 6.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 18.1 minutes per game.

Wed Aug 1 201216:53Roger Mason Jr. agrees to deal with Hornets
Unrestricted FA Roger Mason Jr. has agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Hornets.
Mason will be another athletic swing player competing for minutes in New Orleans this season. He will back up Eric Gordon and Austin Rivers for the Hornets and won't have any fantasy value unless injuries strike.

Wed Jul 25 201208:22Roger Mason Jr. drawing free agent interest
Unrestricted FA Roger Mason Jr. is drawing interest from the Lakers, Bulls, Thunder and Hornets.
Mason is also reportedly not interested in playing for the veteran's minimum on a one-year deal as his been the case over the last two seasons. The Lakers remain in search of a backup shooting guard, the Bulls could use more depth at shooting guard and it's conceivable the Hornets are searching for an experienced player on a youthful roster. The only team listed here that doesn't make a ton of sense is the Thunder.
