Tue Apr 14 201519:50Gordy signed one-year contract with Giants on Tuesday
Gordy signed a one-year contract with the Giants on Tuesday, Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News reports.
With neither of the other two safeties currently on the Giants' roster (Cooper Taylor and Nat Berhe) possessing NFL experience, Gordy will at least give the team a veteran body in the defensive backfield. Gordy spent the last three seasons with the Colts in a backup capacity, racking up 51 tackles over 43 games. Expect the Giants to address the safety spot in the upcoming NFL Draft, which could prevent Gordy from having much of a chance at claiming a starting gig.

Gordy had an interception and one total tackle in Sunday's win over Cleveland.
Gordy played 26 snaps on defense as he moved to nickelback with Darius Buter starting at cornerback in place of injured Vontae Davis. It's not clear when Davis may return from a concussion, so Gordy could have a larger role again this week.

Gordy will likely have a more limited role Sunday against Pittsburgh with Darius Butler probable to return with an ankle injury
Gordy played well as Indy's nickelback with Gordy out, so it's possible the two could split playing time. However, more likely Gordon sees a sharp reduction in snaps.

Mon Apr 21 201416:28Colts sign restricted free agent CB Gordy
Colts signed restricted free agent CB Josh Gordy to a one-year, $1.431 million contract.
Gordy struggled in coverage last season, appearing in 12 games and getting torched when injuries forced him into Indianapolis' nickel package. He finished with a dozen tackles and one interception. Gordy's salary is lofty for his on-field play, and not guaranteed. He'll compete for a roster spot in camp.

Thu Mar 6 201415:43Colts extend RFA tenders to Gordy, Reitz
Colts extended original-pick tender to restricted free agent CB Josh Gordy.
OG Joe Reitz was also tendered a contract, though it's unclear at what level. Gordy came into the league as an undrafted free agent, so the Colts won't be entitled to compensation if he walks in free agency. Gordy played 185 snaps on defense last season.

Tue Aug 21 201221:51Colts acquire CB Gordy from St. Louis
Colts acquired CB Josh Gordy from the Rams for an undisclosed draft pick.
Thrown into the fire after injury decimated the Rams' secondary last season, Gordy started nine games, but struggled in coverage despite making three picks. He saw some time with the first-team defense in Saturday's preseason game, however, and could be in the mix to start opposite RCB Jerraud Powers in Indy. Justin King, Kevin Thomas and Cassius Vaughn have been competing for left-corner duties.

Rams DC Ken Flajole believes RCB Josh Gordy has improved as much as any player has in the past 6-7 weeks.
The silver lining in the Rams' ridiculous string of secondary injuries is that they may have unearthed a keeper acquired off waivers from the Packers in early September. Pro Football Focus still rates Gordy as well below average in coverage and run support.

Mon Dec 12 201122:33Rams lose another cornerback to injury
Rams RCB Josh Gordy was forced from Monday night's game against the Seahaawks with a hip injury, and is questionable to return.
Par for the course for a team that's sent 10 cornerbacks to injured reserve this season. Gordy has been replaced by Roderick Hood, which has forced Chris Smith into the game at nickel back. He was signed off the practice squad just five days ago. Reserve S Craig Dahl is also out with an ankle injury.
