He posted a 3.22 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 54:20 K:BB in 40 appearances with Gwinnett, but may be hard-pressed to crack the Angels' active roster in 2015.

Mon Aug 6 201214:51Nationals designate Severino for assignment
Nationals designated LHP Atahualpa Severino for assignment.
The 27-year-old southpaw was booted from the 40-man roster to make space for newly-acquired shortstop Caesar Izturis. An amateur free agent originally signed by the Expos who remained in the organization after the move to D.C., Severino could very well clear waivers. He's posted a 2.91 ERA over seven seasons in the minors and is left-handed, however, so it also isn't out of the realm of possibility that another franchise could put in a claim.
