Tue Jul 21 201513:08Thabeet played with D-League Select in Las Vegas Summer League
Thabeet played with D-League Select in the Las Vegas Summer League. He averaged 4.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in 15 minutes per game through five games.
Thabeet has not cracked an NBA roster since was released by the Pistons last October. Unless an NBA team begins to have depth issues, it is not likely that he will be signed.
Mon Oct 20 201413:00Thabeet released by Pistons on Monday
Thabeet was released by the Pistons on Monday, MLive's David Mayo reports.
It's somewhat hard to fathom the former No. 2 overall pick not catching on with another NBA team, given his size, but for now his fantasy value for the upcoming season is almost non-existent.

Thabeet is expected to sign a non-guaranteed deal with the Pistons in advance of training camp, ESPN reports.
Thabeet signing with Detroit gives him a chance to make the Pistons' roster during training camp. At 7-3, the former No. 2 overall pick has averaged just 2.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 10.5 minutes throughout his previous five seasons.

Thabeet has been traded to the Sixers in exchange for a $1.25 million trade exception and a highly protected second-round pick, The Oklahoman reports. He's expected to be waived in the near future.
If Thabeet is, indeed, waived, he'll become a free agent and should draw mild interest on the open market. The 7-3 center is still only 27 years old but is yet to make even the slightest impact in the NBA. He played 13.0 minutes per game as a rookie for the Grizzlies in 2009-10 but has not come close to topping that mark in any season since. In 23 games for the Thunder last season, Thabeet averaged 1.2 points and 1.7 rebound sin 8.3 minutes.
Tue Jun 10 201410:02Hakeem Thabeet hopes to return to Thunder
Hakeem Thabeet is hoping to return to the Oklahoma City Thunder next season.
Thabeet has a $1.25 million team option for next season and should have his option picked up as long as the Thunder don't find themselves in salary cap trouble. The Number 2 overall pick of the 2009 saw his minutes dip to 8.3 per game this season, but would still like to return to the team who gave him a chance. "That's the goal," Thabeet said of coming back. "I don't know anything else. I haven't heard anything else. I'm going to be here over the summer working out. That's really all I can say about that situation." We'll update this situation as soon as more information is available, but 27-year-old doesn't hold much fantasy value heading into the 2014-15 season.

Thu Mar 27 201413:28Hasheem Thabeet returns to Thunder
Hasheem Thabeet (personal reasons) has returned to the Thunder.
It is unclear why Thabeet was away from the team, but his return shouldn't have fantasy owners all excited. Thabeet has scored 25 total points during the entire 2013-14 season and hasn't fared much better in the rebounding category with just 35 boards. Despite his status as a former Top 5 draft pick, Thabeet is better off left unowned in every fantasy league.

Mon Mar 24 201417:26Hasheem Thabeet away from team
Hasheem Thabeet (personal) will not play against the Nuggets on Monday.
He is also considered doubtful for Tuesday's game. Thabeet has seen some minutes here and there while Kendrick Perkins (groin) has been out, but it's only been 9.3 per game over his last nine. OKC won't miss him much.

Wed Mar 5 201400:55Hasheem Thabeet scores season-high seven
Hasheem Thabeet scored a season-high seven points against the Sixers on Tuesday with three boards and two blocks in 18 minutes.
Of all the things the Sixers did tonight, allowing Thabeet to score seven points might be the worst. He scored just 12 points in 78 minutes before tonight and his seven-point night should hold up as his best game of the season. We hope you don't need fantasy analysis here.

Mon Nov 4 201312:19Hasheem Thabeet picks up another DNP-CD
Hasheem Thabeet picked up his second straight DNP-CD on Sunday.
He also missed OKC's first game due to a one-game suspension. Steven Adams (???) has taken over backup center duties behind Kendrick Perkins, relegating Thabeet to bench-warmer status.

Mon Oct 21 201318:33Hasheem Thabeet suspended for one game
The NBA suspended Hasheem Thabeet for one game without pay for headbutting Greg Stiemsma on Oct. 17.
The Thunder won't be needed him for their opener on the 30th against the Jazz. Steven Adams has clearly outplayed him and Thabeet isn't worth drafting in any format.

Mon Jul 22 201309:14Hasheem Thabeet could be released or traded
Hasheem Thabeet could be traded and become the Thunder's third trade exception.
It hasn't been a smooth ride for Thabeet in his four-year career. The Thunder spent a lottery pick on Steven Adams, so Thabeet has become expendable. He was taken with the third pick in the 2009 NBA Draft -- one pick before James Harden -- and is unlikely to see much more than his 11.7 minutes per game from last season.

Thu Jun 6 201308:30Hasheem Thabeet happy about his season
Hasheem Thabeet said that he was "happy with how the year turned out."
Thabeet's signing raised some eyebrows when the Thunder inked him, and he averaged 2.4 points, three rebounds and 0.9 blocks in just 11.7 minutes per game. While we wouldn't say Thabeet is a "diamond in the rough" as the article suggests, he has shown to be a capable reserve center at this stage in his career.

Sat May 11 201316:20Hasheem Thabeet could play a few more minutes
Scott Brooks said that Hasheem Thabeet could play a few more minutes in Game 3 on Saturday.
Well, Scott Brooks is getting a little desperate here. If he does play Thabeet more than the 13 minutes he played in Game 2, he's basically playing right into Lionel Hollins' hands. The Grizzlies thrive at a slower tempo and ranked 28th in the NBA in pace, so Brooks' logic is likely to try and limit the Grizzlies on the offensive glass. Brooks added that he will put Thabo Sefolosha on Mike Conley more, which does make sense.

Wed Mar 20 201319:06Hasheem Thabeet to be active Wednesday night
Hasheem Thabeet (sore lower back) will be active against the Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
Thabeet had missed two straight games with the ailment. However, much like his absence, Thabeet's return to the lineup is unlikely to affect all but the deepest of fantasy leagues.

Mon Mar 18 201300:08Hasheem Thabeet (back) out again on Sat.
Hasheem Thabeet (sore lower back) sat out his second straight game on Sunday.
Thabeet's absence goes unremarked in all but the deepest fantasy leagues, as he's averaging 2.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocks.

Fri Mar 15 201319:08Thabeet out on Friday with back issue
Hasheem Thabeet will not play on Friday against the Magic due to a sore back.
Thabeet's minimal minutes will get absorbed by Kendrick Perkins, Serge Ibaka and Nick Collison.

Thu Feb 21 201302:19Hasheem Thabeet starts on Wednesday
Hasheem Thabeet started at center on Wednesday, scoring six points with two rebounds and one block in 11 minutes.
Thabeet ranks eighth in the league in points per shot attempt, which isn't hard to believe considering he's made just two jumpers all year compared to 43 dunks, layups and tip-ins. He was also drafted before James Harden in the 2009 NBA Draft, so he'll need a miracle to shed the "bust" label.

Wed Feb 20 201315:29Hasheem Thabeet to start Wednesday night
Hasheem Thabeet will start in place of Kendrick Perkins against the Rockets on Wednesday night.
We haven't written about Thabeet since Nov. 27, which should tell you all you need to know about his season. He's averaging just 2.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11 minutes per game and hasn't scored or rebounded in double digits since Nov. 26. He'll likely return to a minimal role once Perkins is healthy.
