English became a minor league free agent in November but took a while to draw offers because he is still in recovery mode from elbow surgery. The Tribe will use him as organizational depth once his health returns. |

The surgery will repair bone chips in his left elbow. The 25-year-old southpaw posted a 3.86 ERA over seven appearances with the Nats in April and leaves behind a 5.03 ERA in 16 games with Triple-A Syracuse. |
