Indians signed LHP Jesse English to a minor league contract.
English became a minor league free agent in November but took a while to draw offers because he is still in recovery mode from elbow surgery. The Tribe will use him as organizational depth once his health returns.

Nationals sent LHP Jesse English outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
English, who had season-ending elbow surgery to repair bone chips in July, will become a minor league free agent later Saturday. It's not clear if the Nationals will attempt to retain him.

Jesse English will undergo season-ending elbow surgery on Wednesday.
The surgery will repair bone chips in his left elbow. The 25-year-old southpaw posted a 3.86 ERA over seven appearances with the Nats in April and leaves behind a 5.03 ERA in 16 games with Triple-A Syracuse.
