Fri Dec 3 201017:30Bergmann inks minor league deal with Boston
Red Sox signed RHP Jason Bergmann to a minor league contract.
Bergmann was shuffled back and forth from the rotation to the bullpen in his six years with the Nationals but never had sustained success despite some nice numbers when he pitched in relief in the minors. It's a decent depth add for the Red Sox, but Bergmann is unlikely to crack the opening day roster.
Fri Apr 23 201014:46Nationals outright RHP Bergmann
Nationals sent RHP Jason Bergmann outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
The Cubs or another team in need of relief help could have done a lot worse than taking a flier on Bergmann. However, he went unclaimed on waivers, meaning he'll head back to Triple-A for at least a little while.

Sun Apr 18 201014:01Jays interested in Bergmann
MLB.com's Bill Ladson reports that the Blue Jays have some interest in Jason Bergmann, who was recently designated for assignment by the Nationals.
Livan Hernandez's incredible start makes Bergmann a little more expendable, but given the struggles the rest of the rotation has had, it would seem unlikely that the Nationals would be willing to part with another option cheaply. Still, if the Jays make them a good offer, Bergmann is expendable with Steven Strasburg just a phone call away.
