Hudson was officially waived by the Clippers, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Hudson was relieved of his contract to free up funds for the Clippers to sign rookie second-round pick Branden Dawson. For his career, Hudson sports averaged of 4.7 points, 1.2 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per game.

Hudson had averages of 3.6 points (43% FG, 50% 3Pt, 75% FT), 1.6 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 1.2 steals, and 0.2 blocks in 11 minutes per game during five regular season games with the Clippers in 2014-15.

In seven playoff games, Hudson posted 2.0 points (43% FG, 29% 3Pt, 0% FT), 0.1 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 0.3 steals, and 0.1 blocks in five minutes per game. He turns 31 in August, and is on the payroll for $1.0 million in 2015-16. Regardless of whether Austin Rivers is re-signed, Hudson is unlikely to warrant fantasy consideration unless the Clippers' deep guard rotation is hit with a slew of injuries.

Hudson has not seen playing time this postseason.

Chris Paul, Jamal Crawford, and Austin Rivers are all ahead of him for minutes at point guard, and it's unlikely he will play a role going forward.

Hudson will sign with the Clippers on Saturday, the Orange County Register reports.

Hudson wasn't expected to receive a new contract after his previous 10-day deal expired. However, the Clippers will keep him on for the final week of the season. In three appearances with the team, he's averaged 2.3 points (on 25 percent shooting), two rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 0.7 assists in 11 minutes.

Hudson saw 34 minutes on the court during his short stint in Los Angeles but apparently wasn't able to make a good enough impression on coach and general manager Doc Rivers. The 30-year-old will be eligible to sign elsewhere but the regular season is almost over and he'll likely head into next season without a team.

Hudston, a big-time scorer in college, is yet to find a permanent home in the NBA. He's spent time with the Celtics, Grizzlies, Wizards and Cavaliers since entering the league in 2008, but he's appeared in only 52 career games. Hudson was previously playing overseas in China. The signing all but guarantees Nate Robinson will not be signed for the rest of the season, and it's likely an indication that Jamal Crawford (calf) is not overly close to returning to the court.

Hudson averaged 26 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game while leading Xinjiang of China to the championship game. Last year, Hudson played for the Los Angeles Lakers summer league team, and was an invite to the Utah Jazz's training camp. Over the next month Hudson will workout for various NBA teams, and the Pacers have been reported as intrigued suitors. But for now, nothing is imminent.

Hudson has been playing with Xinjiang of the Chinese Basketball Association and helped lead the team to the second-best record in the league with averages of 26 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. Xinjian's regular season ended February 16th, but Hudson won't be available to NBA teams until the CBA's playoffs are over. He won't serve as much more than bench depth for whoever he signs with, however, so fantasy owners can feel free to turn their attention elsewhere.

He said he's still trying to figure out if Lester Hudson or Scott Machado can run the point, but it sounds like John Lucas III is out of the running. Hudson probably has the inside track, but his deficiencies as a passer could be his undoing. Tonight's game vs. the Lakers could be telling. This is hands-off territory in standard leagues for now.

He played down the stretch for the team in a close game, which is a bit telling since coach Ty Corbin went with most of his starters. Hudson played solid D and brought the ball up some of the time along with Alec Burks and Gordon Hayward. Burks and Hayward will likely continue to do much of the ball handling during the season while Trey Burke (finger) is out, so even if Hudson wins the job, his upside won't be too high. He's still on the radar, though.

ESPN New York's Ian Begley reported the Knicks also worked out Bobby Brown, Sean May and DJ White on Wednesday.

Hudson's NBA future is in jeopardy after failing to receive much interest on the open market, and he likely made the jump overseas to pursue a larger role.

Apparently, this is the reason that Hudson has changed representation. Amico has been providing us update on Hudson's free agency throughout the offseason, but a market for him just hasn't really existed to date. We're assuming there won't be any "Hudson-sanity" this year.

The Warriors are interested in unrestricted FA Lester Hudson, according to Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio.

We're not buying it at all. The Warriors have more than 15 players on the roster, and the club already has three point guards on the roster in Stephen Curry, Jarrett Jack and Charles Jenkins. There is just no place for Hudson, and the Warriors probably don't want to add more salary than they already have this offseason.

The Grizzlies are playing a numbers game with the salary cap and couldn't afford to tie up cash in a reserve guard who only appeared in three games for them last season.

Hudson scored nine points on 3-of-6 shooting (including a three) with one assist in 12 minutes, and it will be interesting to see if he can unseat Josh Selby as the backup PG going into the playoffs. A one-game playoff between the two on Thursday if the Grizzlies are out of it sounds like the best way to settle it if you ask us.

Hudson will be available to the Grizzlies for the playoffs because he was never cut by the Cavaliers, they just let his 10-day contract expire. Hudson caused quite a stir when he averaged 24.7 ppg over a three-game hot streak at the beginning of April in Cleveland, but the career journeyman will provide guard depth in Memphis. Hudson started his career in Memphis back in 2009-2010.

Lester Hudson will be signed by the Grizzlies on Friday according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

It's good to see Hudson make his NBA dreams come true, but it would be surprising to see him on the court much, if at all for the Grizzlies come playoff time.
