Sat Aug 1 201515:09Williams (Achilles) will miss 2015 season
Williams (Achilles) will miss the 2015 season, Denver Post writer Troy Renck reports.
Williams wasn't likely to push for much more than a punt returner role on the bottom third of the receiver depth chart, so his injury shouldn't affect the offense much.
Sat Aug 30 201416:56Williams (shoulder) placed on injured reserve
Williams (shoulder) has been placed on injured reserve, the Chiefs' official site reports.
An injury settlement may be coming, as Williams was merely competing for one of the final roster spots before hurting his shoulder in Thursday's preseason finale.

Williams was forced out of Thursday's preseason finale with a shoulder injury.
While Williams is off the fantasy radar in most cases, if his shoulder issue is anything other than minor, it will hamper his chances of making any sort of impact in the Chiefs' offense (which will be without wideout Dwayne Bowe in Week 1) out of the gate.
Fri Aug 8 201401:28Williams (hamstring) worked as 3rd wide receiver with first-team...
Williams (hamstring) worked as the No. 3 wide receiver with the first-team offense in Thursday's preseason opener against the Bengals, Herbie Teope of Chiefs Spin reports.
Junior Hemingway and A.J. Jenkins were both inactive for Thursday's game, leaving Williams to work as the No. 3 by default. There isn't much of a ceiling to reach in this offense, but the No. 3 spot on the depth chart is up for grabs, with at least three players seemingly in the mix.
Sat Aug 2 201410:50Williams left practice after injuring hamstring Friday
Williams left practice after injuring his hamstring Friday, ESPN.com reports.
Williams injured his hamstring while running a route. He now joins fellow wide receivers Junior Hemingway and Mark Harrison as players who have gone down with hamstring injuries. Prior to the injury, Williams was having a solid camp, but with so much competition at wide receiver, an extended absence could potentially cost him a roster spot.
Tue Jul 22 201409:19Chiefs WR Kyle Williams (knee) ready for camp
Chiefs WR Kyle Williams (knee) is healthy entering training camp.
Williams tore his ACL for the second time in as many years in November and underwent surgery in December. He appeared in one game for the Chiefs after being claimed off waivers from the 49ers. ESPN Chiefs reporter Adam Teicher expects Williams to get a chance to win the slot receiver job vacated by Dexter McCluster, but he'll be competing with Junior Hemingway and rookies Weston Dressler and DeAnthony Thomas.

Sat Jun 14 201415:57Kyle Williams (knee) could be ready for camp
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he expects WR Kyle Williams (knee) to be ready for training camp.
Williams is rehabbing from his second ACL surgery in the last two years, so his camp status remains questionable despite Reid's comments. Even when healthy, Williams is a long shot to make Kansas City's roster. Williams appeared in just one game with the Chiefs last season after being claimed off waivers and was re-signed on a one-year, $730,000 contract.

Mon Apr 21 201416:55Chiefs re-sign WR Kyle Williams
Chiefs re-signed WR Kyle Williams.
The Chiefs claimed Williams off waivers from the 49ers in November last year, and he tore his left ACL a week later. Williams has now torn his left ACL twice in his NFL career. He'll be a long shot for Kansas City's 53-man roster.

Wed Nov 13 201316:47Chiefs claim WR Kyle Williams off waivers
Chiefs claimed WR Kyle Williams off waivers from the 49ers.
Williams was waived on Tuesday after losing his starting job to Mario Manningham. He caught just 12 passes for 113 yards in nine games (five starts) with the 49ers and will be reunited with QB Alex Smith. Williams will be no higher than the No. 4 receiver in Kansas City and remains off the fantasy radar.

Tue Nov 12 201313:2049ers part ways with WR/PR Kyle Williams
49ers waived WR Kyle Williams.
Williams "started" five of the 49ers' first nine games at receiver, but caught just 12 passes for 113 yards. He was also dead last in the league in punt-return average. Williams was a fringe NFL talent even before tearing his ACL last Thanksgiving, so it was extremely surprising how much time he got with San Francisco's offense. He's unlikely to draw much interest on waivers. The 49ers are moving forward with Mario Manningham opposite Anquan Boldin.

Fri Nov 8 201318:1049ers WR Kyle Williams (knee) listed probable
Kyle Williams was added to the Week 10 injury report with a knee injury.
Williams practiced in full Friday and is officially listed as probable, so it's not a major concern. With Mario Manningham set to return this week, Williams is going to lose considerable snaps opposite Anquan Boldin in two-wide sets.

Sun Oct 27 201316:20Kyle Williams manages one catch, seven yards
49ers WR Kyle Williams caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's Week 8 win over the Jaguars, adding one carry for ten yards.
Williams played the No. 2 receiver role with Jon Baldwin (illness) inactive, but that hasn't translated to much production for the reserve-caliber wideout all season, and again didn't today. Look for Mario Manningham (knee, PUP) to return after the 49ers' Week 9 bye, relegating Williams to a fourth receiver at best. Quinton Patton (foot) and Michael Crabtree (Achilles') are also eventually on their way back.

Fri Sep 27 201314:47Kyle Williams sees reduction in snaps
49ers WR Kyle Williams' offensive snaps took a significant dip in Thursday night's Week 4 win at St. Louis.
Williams was playing about 75 percent of the downs coming into the game. He only played 32 percent against the Rams, as the 49ers tried to work Quinton Patton into the mix more. Unfortunately, Patton left the game with a foot injury after playing only seven downs. The Niners are clearly mixing and matching at No. 2 wideout. Jon Baldwin played 16 snaps in his season debut.

Fri Sep 27 201302:03Kyle Williams fails to record catch in Week 4
Kyle Williams failed to record a catch in Week 4 against the Rams.
Even with Quinton Patton sidelined, Williams was only targeted once in the passing game. He has zero fantasy value and should continue to be limited to special teams.

Mon Sep 16 201301:51Kyle Williams leads 49ers in Week 2 receiving
Kyle Williams caught four passes for 39 yards in Sunday night's Week 2 loss to Seattle.
Williams led the 49ers in receiving and finished with six targets. He remains no higher than the third option in the passing game, but could see an expanded role if Vernon Davis (hamstring) misses any time.

Sun Sep 8 201320:37Kyle Williams starts, runs as No. 2 WR
Kyle Williams had three catches for 36 yards in Sunday's Week 1 win over the Packers.
Williams started opposite Anquan Boldin and ran as the No. 2 wideout for the whole game. He still managed just six targets even though Colin Kapernick attempted 39 passes. The Niners will stick with Williams for as long as it's working, but eventually turning to rookie Quinton Patton would give them more upside. Williams is not on the fantasy radar with Boldin and Vernon Davis hogging targets.

Fri Sep 6 201318:48Kyle Williams to start at wide receiver?
CSN Bay Area expects Kyle Williams to open the season as the 49ers' No. 2 wide receiver.
If so, he'd do it over Marlon Moore, who started all four preseason games, and rookie Quinton Patton, who figures to be the No. 3 receiver. "He's had an extremely good camp," coach Jim Harbaugh said of Williams. "(He's) getting better, getting faster. I think he's come back stronger and faster than he was before." Jon Baldwin and Chris Harper will likely be scratched on game day.

Fri Aug 30 201322:14Kyle Williams missed the entire preseason
49ers WR Kyle Williams missed the entire preseason with injuries to his hamstring and knee.
Williams never even made a run at one of San Francisco's top-three wideout jobs. Expect the Niners to open the year with Marlon Moore at X receiver, Anquan Boldin at Z, and rookie Quinton Patton as the No. 3. Jon Baldwin will put heat on Moore. Williams is a punt return candidate after LaMichael James' MCL sprain.
