Mon Jul 21 201416:15Donte Greene arrested at nightclub on Sunday
Donte Greene was arrested early on Sunday outside of a Miami nightclub, and he now faces charges of battery and disorderly conduct.
The timing couldn't possibly be worse for Green as he was attempting to make a comeback to the NBA after spending the past two seasons in China. Greene reportedly got into a fight with Rams linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar outside of a Miami nightclub, and this certainly doesn't look great on his resume. It's possible this derails Greene's comeback attempt, but he wasn't going to have any fantasy value anyway.

Sun Jul 20 201412:03Donte Greene attempting to return to the NBA
Donte Greene, a former lottery pick from the 2008 draft, is attempting to make a return to the NBA.
"I'm just trying to come back and be a pro. I'm older now, more mature, and I've got a big family to take care of," said Greene. "[During Summer League I] Try to be a leader on the floor, be active, always be in the right spots. Play smart. Play hard. Trying to do the little things. Me being older now, it's not so much coming out and having 30, 40 points as it was when I was younger. Now it's about coming out and show teams I know how to play the game." Greene spent the last season in China, but even if he's able to land on an NBA roster, he will not have any fantasy value.

Tue Sep 17 201313:28Report: Celtics to waive F Donte Greene
The Celtics will waive F Donte Greene so that he can sign a contract in China, according to Greene's agent.
Greene was traded to the Celtics in August, but his contract was unguaranteed and he wasn't expected to make it past training camp. The CBA season ends early enough that Greene can conceivably earn an NBA deal toward the end of the regular season.

Fri Aug 16 201312:25Donte Greene's contract isn't guaranteed
Donte Greene's $1 million contract for this season is non-guaranteed.
The Celtics are slightly over the luxury tax line right now. If they cut Greene, they'll get under the tax. Considering the logjam at the 3/4 spots (Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace, Brandon Bass, Jared Sullinger, Kris Humphries), it would be a surprise if Greene sticks.

The Celtics acquired Donte Greene in a trade on Thursday.
He was signed by the Grizzlies back on April 17, but he didn't play in any games. Greene played in 253 games with the Kings from 2008-12, but didn't see any action last season. He figures to be an end-of-the-bench player for Boston this year.

Fri Aug 31 201208:55Report: Greene's deal with Nets in jeopardy
Donte Greene's deal with the Nets will reportedly "not go down now."
Greene's agent Chris Luchey had said previously that the expectation was for his client "to be a Net," but it sounds like that is in jeopardy following his ankle fracture. It will be interesting to see how the two sides handle it from here on out. Greene's expected to be sidelined for the foreseeable future following his injury.

Thu Aug 30 201208:28Report: Greene's ankle fracture could be bad
Donte Greene's ankle fracture "could be worse than a simple fracture."
Greene's agent Chris Luchey said that his client was dealing with "some type of fracture," but it sounds like Greene may have seriously injured the ankle. Pending MRI results, Greene may have to undergo surgery, which would obviously force him to miss a major chunk of time. The Nets may choose to go another route if Greene's injury is severe since Greene has yet to officially sign with the team. However, Luchey did say that he expects Greene "to be a Net."

Wed Aug 29 201217:20Donte Greene's Nets signing now on hold
Donte Greene's signing from earlier this week with the Nets is now on hold due to pending surgery on his ankle "with some type of fracture," according to his agent, Chris Luchey.
Greene suffered an ankle fracture while working out in Charlotte last Saturday, which is absolutely terrible timing for the free agent swingman. Greene's contract wasn't going to be guaranteed, but this definitely puts a major damper on the feasibility of it actually happening at all. He spent his prior four NBA seasons with the Kings and will now have to wait out the results of his surgery and/or MRI to find his next team.

Fri Aug 24 201209:10Donte Greene's deal with Nets not guaranteed
Donte Greene's contract with the Nets is "just a camp invite" and "isn't guaranteed," a source tells Hoopsworld's Alex Raskin.
However, Greene "definitely has a shot at making the team," and we'd agree with that assessment. The Nets need depth at small forward behind Gerald Wallace, and we're guessing the team isn't relying on Jerry Stackhouse to fill that role all season. Greene won't be a fantasy factor so long as Wallace stays healthy, but he's a nice depth addition for the reloaded Brooklyn squad.

Thu Aug 23 201212:21Donte Greene agrees to new contract with Nets
Donte Greene has "agreed in principle" to sign with the Nets, a source tells Yahoo! Sports.
Greene had said in early August that he was drawing interest from the Bulls, Knicks and Pacers, but he decided to join the Nets. Although he was drafted No. 28 overall in 2008, Greene has failed to leave his mark in the league over four seasons with the Kings. He has career averages of 6.1 points and 2.4 rebounds on 40.6 percent shooting in 17 minutes per game and will not be a fantasy factor next season despite changing teams.

Thu Aug 9 201218:56Donte Greene's charity game nixed by league
Donte Greene's charity basketball game, the Goon Squad Classic II, has been canceled by the league for violating the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
"Any players who play without prior league approval face suspension and fines," wrote Greene, who is an unrestricted FA. "We are saddened by this news and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause." Greene is attempting to issue full refunds for all ticket-holders, and may arrange a free meet-and-greet at a downtown Sacramento club. It seems mean-spirited of the league to cancel a charity game, but presumably Greene's camp didn't follow the necessary steps to gain approval.

Tue Aug 7 201209:11Report: Knicks, Bulls, Pacers want Greene
Unrestricted FA Donte Greene said that the Bulls, Knicks and Pacers.
Greene told a local Sacramento radio show that the three teams were interested. He previously said that Chicago and Philadelphia were interested, but now Greene claims that there are three teams after his services. An unrestricted free agent after the Kings chose not to extend a qualifying contract offer, Greene will have no fantasy value regardless of where he winds up.

Mon Jul 23 201209:14Donte Greene still talking to Sixers, Bulls
Unrestricted FA Donte Greene said that the Sixers and Bulls are "showing interest."
Greene hasn't received a contract offer from the Bulls, and it doesn't sound like he's received an official offer from the Sixers, either. His market has been uncomfortably quiet since Sacramento did not extend a qualifying contract offer to him, but he should be able to latch on somewhere and try to make an impression. Although he has an intriguing skill set, Greene is off of the fantasy radar regardless of where he lands.

Wed Jun 27 201218:46Greene announces he'll be leaving the Kings
Donte Greene announced Wednesday that he will be parting ways with the Kings.
The Kings did not extend him a qualifying offer and he will be an unrestricted free agent. The lanky wing never really caught on in Sacramento, but he was a good guy in the locker room and he'll almost certainly find himself on another team's roster by the end of the summer.
