Mon Apr 8 201321:38Jamie Moyer not ruling out comeback
Jamie Moyer said Monday that he hasn't "closed that door yet" on a possible return to baseball.
"I don't know when I would make a decision," Moyer said. "I really haven't put a lot of thought into it. I'm enjoying my time at home at this point." Moyer added that he doesn't "forsee it happening this year." The left-hander will turn 51 in November and posted a 5.70 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in 10 starts last season for the Rockies. It goes without saying that him throwing another pitch in the majors is an extreme longshot.

Thu Jul 19 201209:08Jamie Moyer insists he's not retired
Jamie Moyer said Wednesday that he is not retired.
Moyer was released by the Blue Jays earlier this month after allowing 10 runs in 11 innings at Triple-A Las Vegas and remains unsigned on the free agent market. He hopes to give it another go at some point. "I'm just kind of laying in the weeds and just trying to figure out what's going on," said the veteran left-hander. "I'm just going to step back after the season and assess what's going on, and see how I feel and go from there."

Wed Jul 4 201222:49Jays yet to make decision on Jamie Moyer
Blue Jays manager John Farrell said the team is still pondering a promotion of Jamie Moyer.
Moyer's minor league deal with the Jays guarantees him only two starts, and he's been shaky in those two outings, posting an 8.18 ERA and 1.81 WHIP. But, with the injuries to the major league rotation, Toronto might decide to give him a shot, anyway. He shouldn't be considered in fantasy leagues if he does receive a promotion.

Tue Jun 26 201217:28Moyer's contract only guarantees two starts
Jamie Moyer's minor league contract with the Blue Jays only guarantees him two Triple-A starts.
The Jays are hurting badly for starting pitching depth at the major league level, so the 49-year-old left-hander stands a decent chance of actually getting promoted. Moyer just got done posting a 1.69 ERA and 16/0 K/BB ratio in 16 innings with the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate.

Tue Jun 26 201200:39Blue Jays ink Moyer to minors deal
Blue Jays signed LHP Jamie Moyer to a minor league contract.
Moyer will head to Triple-A Las Vegas to make some tuneup starts. The Blue Jays are really hurting in their rotation, so the opportunity is there, but the 49-year-old southpaw hasn't been given any promises of an eventual call-up.

Sat Jun 23 201215:47Orioles officially grant Moyer his release
Orioles released LHP Jamie Moyer.
It's no surprise, as Moyer had the ability to opt out of his contract and was granted his release. He'll attempt to continue his career elsewhere, but remains doubtful to hold any fantasy value.

Fri Jun 22 201217:59O's want Moyer to make another Triple-A start
Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette confirmed that the team has asked Jamie Moyer to make one more start with Triple-A Norfolk.
Moyer, who signed a minor league deal with Baltimore earlier this month, has a 1.69 ERA and 16/0 K/BB ratio in 16 innings over his first three starts with the Tides. Duquette is currently waiting to hear back from Moyer, but Eddie A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun writes that he "didn't sound too optimistic." The 49-year-old left-hander has the ability to opt out of his contract soon, so the O's may be forced to add him to the active roster.

Thu Jun 21 201210:38Jamie Moyer can opt out of contract with O's
Jamie Moyer can opt out of his minor league deal with the Orioles if not promoted in the next few days.
Moyer has allowed just four runs (three earned) in 16 innings at Triple-A Norfolk since signing that contract. He struggled mightily for the Rockies earlier this season and seems doubtful to fare much better against AL East teams, but the O's may decide to give him a look. The 49-year-old left-hander is in his 25th MLB season.

Tue Jun 12 201214:46Moyer starting in Triple-A on Friday
Jamie Moyer will start for Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.
There was some speculation that he could be a candidate to start Saturday for the Orioles, but it turns out he'll get another start or two in the minors before being re-evaluated. The 49-year-old southpaw tossed five shutout innings in his first start with the Tides on Saturday.

Sat Jun 9 201220:14Moyer goes five shutout frames at AAA Norfolk
Jamie Moyer tossed five shutout innings Saturday in his first outing at Triple-A Norfolk.
Moyer walked only one and struck out five. He signed a minor league contract with the O's earlier this week after being released by the Rockies. Baltimore may be tempted to give him a crack in the majors if the success continues, but the 49-year-old left-hander is doubtful to be very effective.

Mon May 21 201222:27Moyer blasted by Marlins
Jamie Moyer was blasted for six runs on nine hits and four walks over just 3 2/3 innings in Monday's loss to the Marlins.
He somehow managed to record five strikeouts, but Moyer was underwhelming again in this one and served up a grand slam to Giancarlo Stanton. The 49-year-old's return to the majors has been a nice story, but Moyer has been terrible four of the last five times out and now holds a 4.99 ERA and 1.75 WHIP for the season. He's scheduled to face the Reds this weekend.

Thu May 17 201200:07Moyer baffles D-Backs in win
Jamie Moyer kept the Diamondbacks off balance in Wednesday's win, allowing just one run on six hits in 6 1/3 innings of work.
Moyer struck out five and walked two in a badly needed quality start. He also plated two runs with a fourth inning infield single, becoming the oldest player in major-league history to drive in a run. Moyer entered tonight having allowed 15 runs (14 earned) in 15 innings over his past three starts. He'll need to reel off a few more decent outings to earn himself any real job security. Regardless of how Moyer pitches, he may be removed from the rotation when Jorge De La Rosa is ready to come off the disabled list. Moyer will bring a 4.20 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 29/13 K/BB ratio into his Monday start in Miami.

Sat May 12 201201:38Jamie Moyer gives up five runs to Dodgers
Jamie Moyer was tagged for five runs in five innings by the Dodgers in a loss Friday.
The last run came after an intentional walk to Matt Kemp with two outs in the fifth. Moyer struck out seven in this one, but it still qualifies as his third rough start in a row. The Rockies are sure to stick with Moyer for a while longer, but once Jorge De La Rosa comes back, it might be time to move on.

Sun Apr 29 201219:35Jamie Moyer allows 13 baserunners
Jamie Moyer allowed four runs on 11 hits and two walks in five innings of Sunday's 11-inning loss to the Mets.
Moyer struck out seven, but was lucky more men didn't cross the plate. Through 28 2/3 innings, Moyer has put up a solid 3.14 ERA, but his 1.57 WHIP and 16/9 K/BB ratio suggest his earned run average will be steadily on the rise. He's not a recommended start at Coors Field. He'll get the Braves at home next weekend.

Tue Apr 24 201222:24Moyer strong, bullpen blows chance at win
Jamie Moyer pitched very well against the Pirates on Tuesday, allowing just one run on six hits over six innings of work.
Moyer struck out three and walked three on the night. He left after the sixth with a 2-1 lead, but Rex Brothers immediately gave the lead away in the seventh. Moyer still sits at 1-2 on the season, though with a very respectable 2.28 ERA through his first four starts. He'll look to continue his strong start to the season when he takes on the Mets on Sunday.

Jamie Moyer will start Tuesday against the Pirates.
Moyer was scheduled to take the mound on Monday night, but the game was postponed due to rainy conditions in the Pittsburgh area. Juan Nicasio will start the first half of Wednesday's make-up doubleheader and Jhoulys Chacin will get the nod in the second half.

Wed Apr 18 201200:02Moyer, 49, becomes oldest to win MLB game
Jamie Moyer became the oldest pitcher in MLB history to win a game Tuesday night against the Padres.
Moyer, at 49 years and 150 days, bested Jack Quinn, whose last win came at 49 years and 70 days. The soft-tossing left-hander allowed two runs to the San Diego offense, but they were both unearned. He's rocking a respectable 3.57 ERA and 1.30 WHIP through three starts this year despite a laughable 6/4 K/BB ratio.

Thu Apr 12 201218:45Jamie Moyer gives up four runs in loss
Jamie Moyer surrendered four runs -- two earned -- in 5 2/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Giants.
Moyer might keep the Rockies in some games, but it doesn't look like he'll do much more. After giving up eight hits to another poor offense today, he's 0-2 with a 4.22 ERA.

Sat Apr 7 201221:46Moyer allows three earned in 2012 debut
Jamie Moyer yielded five hits and three earned runs in a five-inning outing Saturday against the Astros.
It was Moyer's first start since the 2010 season, and it probably didn't go the way he was hoping. The 49-year-old walked just one batter, but his slow-moving pitches looked far too hittable and the Houston lineup was able to take advantage. Moyer will look to bounce back next week against Arizona.
