Sun Mar 3 201310:27Nats' Garcia out with partial tendon tear
Christian Garcia will be shut down for at least another week after being diagnosed with a partial tendon tear in his right forearm.
This obviously puts Garcia's availability for Opening Day in question. The right-hander was dynamic down the stretch for the Nationals last season, posting a 2.13 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 15/2 K/BB ratio in 12 2/3 innings of relief. He had a lengthy history of arm issues in the minors, though, so this can't come as a surprise.
