Michael Stutes will undergo arthroscopic shoulder surgery Tuesday.
Stutes, 25, has been on the disabled list since April 22 and has failed to make much progress. The surgery is expected to ''clean out fraying'' in his injured right shoulder. There is believed to be no serious damage to his rotator cuff, but he is still at risk for missing the rest of the season.

Michael Stutes has been nursing more shoulder issues lately.
Stutes had shoulder problems in spring training, as well, and it's possible that they've contributed to his 6.35 in his first six outings. He said the current soreness he's dealing with isn't as bad as it was in spring training. Stutes could possible be available to pitch Tuesday. "At the end of spring, I was like, I couldn't throw," Stutes said. "It was sore and I couldn't throw. Now, I go out there and do everything just like normal and I'm up for the game."
