Tue Nov 25 201417:29Gray
Gray, who was waived by the Pistons in October after a "cardiac episode" sidelined him throughout training camp, is still hopeful for a return to basketball, Mlive reports.
Despite being waived by the Pistons, Gray has remained with the team and helps put the big men through drills at practice. The veteran center is doing extensive cardio exercises while undergoing regular testing with hopes to return to the NBA. Gray will continue to rehab at the Pistons' practice facilities, but it remains unclear when or if he'll get the opportunity to play in the NBA again.
Sun Oct 26 201418:13Gray waived by Pistons on Sunday
Gray was waived by the Pistons on Sunday, Sportando reports.
The move to part ways with the veteran gets the Pistons down to 10 players in advance of Monday's roster cutdown deadline. Gray, who signed a two-year deal with Detroit over the summer, missed training camp due to a "cardiac episode" suffered in late-August. He'll look to catch on with another team as a free agent.

Gray will miss camp after suffering a "cardiac episode" in late-August.
Little is known about Gray's "episode," but obviously any type of heart issue is going to be taken seriously. The veteran will be held out of training camp, and his status for the preseason looks to be up in the air. Gray's absence leaves the Pistons thin up front behind starters Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe. The team also signed journeyman Hasheem Thabeet to a camp deal last week.
Mon Jul 7 201416:46Report: Aaron Gray agrees to deal with DET
Aaron Gray has reportedly agreed to a multi-year deal with the Pistons.
The terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed, but the Pistons needed a backup center to play behind Andre Drummond and they got that in Gray. Gray boasts career averages of 3.4 points, and 3.7 rebounds, so don't look to him as a fantasy option.

Sun Mar 16 201422:41Aaron Gray starts at C w/ DeMarcus out Sunday
Aaron Gray had four points, four rebounds, one steal and one block in 19 minutes as a fill-in starter with DeMarcus Cousins (knee) sidelined on Sunday.
Gray scored his first points since joining the Kings, and his averages in five starts earlier this season don't inspire confidence -- 3.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks. Keep in mind that Gray had an easier-than-usual matchup against the Wolves' decimated frontcourt, and with Cousins day-to-day he's a very sketchy source of fantasy value.

Sun Mar 16 201418:34Aaron Gray starting vs. the Wolves
Aaron Gray will start against the Wolves on Sunday.
DeMarcus Cousins (knee) is not playing due to tendinitis and the Kings are unlikely to use Gray much as far as scoring goes. Expect Jason Thompson and Derrick Williams to benefit on the stat sheet tonight.

Fri Jan 24 201410:44Aaron Gray projected as starter for Kings
Aaron Gray is projected as a starter in place of DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) Friday.
Rudy Gay (Achilles') is also out, leaving the Kings' likely starting five in Friday's game against the Pacers as: Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Thornton, Derrick Williams, Jason Thompson and Gray. Williams is the only one we'd consider as a realistic plug-n-play, and even he will be shaky against the Pacers' dominant defense. Gray is a plodding 7-footer with zero upside.

Sun Dec 8 201320:04Aaron Gray sent to Kings in seven-player swap
Aaron Gray will join the Kings after being traded from the Raptors along with Quincy Acy and Rudy Gay.
Gray's massive 270-pound frame may come in handy for spot minutes behind DeMarcus Cousins, but it's just as likely that Hamady N'diaye will assume most of the minutes left behind in Chuck Hayes' wake. Neither guy is worth a glance outside of deep leagues.

Sat May 18 201313:21Aaron Gray reportedly exercises player option
Aaron Gray exercised the $2.6 million player option in his contract, according to beat writer Josh Lewenberg.
Much like his teammate Linas Kleiza, Gray has no reason to decline the option. The five-year veteran had fits of fantasy usefulness in very deep leagues but is mostly an end-of-the-bench player. He averaged 2.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game.

Fri Feb 1 201323:43Gray scores seven points with 12 boards
Aaron Gray scored seven points on 3-of-6 shooting with 12 rebounds and four assists in 25 minutes in Friday's blowout win over the Clippers.
Gray did not record a steal or block and he will stop producing any time now with Jonas Valanciunas and Andrea Bargnani moving in on his turf. But if you're desperate for very short-term value, give him a look while he's providing low-end numbers.

Wed Jan 30 201323:50Aaron Gray goes for 8 & 11 in win
Center Aaron Gray had eight points, 11 rebounds and a block in Wednesday's loss.
He's hot right now, going for a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds on Monday, but had literally done almost nothing up to that point this season. He should continue to play well as long as Jonas Valanciunas is out, especially with Amir Johnson needed at power forward now that Ed Davis has been traded. If you're desperate at center and are only in it for the short-term, Gray is a decent grab right now.

Tue Jan 29 201300:47Aaron Gray comes out of nowhere w/ 22 & 10
Aaron Gray started in Monday's loss to the Warriors for matchup purposes, scoring a career-high 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting with 10 rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes.
Gray started because Andrew Bogut started on the other side, and this says more about the Warriors' soft interior defense than anything else. This line will be in the running for flukiest line of the year.

Fri Jan 11 201322:12Aaron Gray returns from the flu Friday
Aaron Gray made his return to the lineup on Friday and had no points, four boards and one block in seven minutes against the Bobcats.
Gray was starting before he became ill and before Dwane Casey came to his senses and started Amir Johnson. The seven minutes played tonight is all you need to know about Gray's fantasy value.

Sun Jan 6 201311:58Aaron Gray (flu) will not play Sunday
Aaron Gray (flu) will not play on Sunday, moving Amir Johnson into the starting lineup.
Johnson will need to somehow avoid foul trouble for his short-handed team, which has no depth in the middle and will need to get creative against the Thunder.

Mon Oct 8 201216:16Gray, not Valanciunas likely to start for TOR
Aaron Gray is expected to start at center for the Raptors this season.
We had Jonas Valanciunas penciled in as the starter, but he's not fully healthy and is learning the NBA game. Bump Gray up on your cheat sheets if you are desperate for a center late in your draft.

Fri Oct 5 201209:41Aaron Gray has chance to start at center
Aaron Gray is a possibility to start at center on opening night.
Gray started 40 games at center last season for Toronto, but he averaged just 4.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 0.4 blocks in under 18 minutes per game. Even if he does start some games this year, he's not on the fantasy radar.

Fri Jul 27 201211:54Raptors agree to new deal with Aaron Gray
Raptors signed C Aaron Gray.
Gray's agency, ASM Sports, broke the news of his signing. The two sides verbally agreed to a new two-year deal back in early July, but now he's officially back in the fold. He's simply not a fantasy factor and should be an insurance policy at the end of the bench.

Sat Jul 7 201222:25Raptors agree to deal w/ FA center Aaron Gray
The Raptors and free agent center Aaron Gray have verbally agreed to a two-year contract.
As with all deals during the FA moratorium, nothing can be signed until July 11 at the earliest. Gray is thoroughly unremarkable (last season he averaged 3.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 0.4 blocks in 17 minutes per game), but he gives Toronto a legitimate big man (7'0", 270 lbs.) off the bench. Presumably it's a cost-effective addition to the Raptors' depth chart, though the value of the deal hasn't been disclosed.

Fri Mar 23 201218:10Aaron Gray to start at C on Friday night
Aaron Gray will start over Amir Johnson on Friday against Tyson Chandler and the Knicks.
The Raptors often start Gray over Johnson against bigger physical centers and Chandler certainly fits that bill. They also made this change last Friday when they took on Marc Gasol and the Grizzlies. This shouldn't affect Amir Johnson's value in the long term.

Fri Mar 16 201219:58Aaron Gray starting over Amir Johnson
Aaron Gray will start over Amir Johnson on Friday against Marc Gasol and the Grizzlies.
This is strictly a matchup thing, and Amir is expected to reclaim the starting center job in the next one.
