Roethlisberger relayed that team doctors are pleased with his progress, as the QB bounces back from an MCL sprain, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports.
While Fowler speculates that Week 8's game against the Bengals "seems like a prime return" for the QB, for his part, Roethlisberger (who has "graduated to stationary bike work") has not put forth a timetable on that front, noting "we're just going to keep taking it week-by-week and try and get back as soon as I can." In the meantime, Mike Vick will continue to start in Roethlisberger's place for the 2-2 Steelers.
Tue Sep 29 201514:58Ben Roethlisberger: (Knee) Timetable May Be Optimistic
Roethlisberger (knee) is more likely to miss six weeks than four, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Roethlisberger has a timetable of four-to-six weeks, which is typical for a sprained MCL. The concern is that he's also dealing with a nasty bone bruise that may actually take longer to heal than the sprain. However, recovery from the bone bruise is largely about pain management, and Roethlisberger's on-field toughness is beyond reproach.
Sun Sep 27 201522:19Ben Roethlisberger: (Knee) Out 4-6 Weeks
Roethlisberger (knee) will likely be out for four-to-six weeks, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Roethlisberger was diagnosed with a sprained MCL and bone bruise, but the MRI did not reveal any ACL damage. He can safely be ruled out through Week 6, leaving Mike Vick to start at least the next three games, beginning with Thursday's contest against Baltimore. Vick completed just 52.9 percent of his passes for the Jets last season (121 attempts), and he couldn't move the Pittsburgh offense during Sunday's win over the Rams, but he does have an excellent collection of talent around him.
Sun Sep 27 201522:00Ben Roethlisberger: (Knee) Avoids ACL Injury
An MRI on Roethlisberger's knee revealed only an MCL sprain, with no damage to his ACL, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports. His recovery is expected to take four weeks.
Given the hit that Roethlisberger took, this was the best the Steelers could have hoped for. The team reportedly plans to have him back for a Nov. 1 (Week 8) game against Cincinnati, but the four-week timeline might give him a shot to be ready for Week 7 in Kansas City. Mike Vick struggled with the Jets last season and couldn't get anything going in Sunday's game, but the talent around him is unquestionably top-notch.

NFL Network's Albert Breer relays that the Steelers are "hopeful" that the ACL in Roethlisberger's left knee is intact. With that in mind, the QB is slated to undergo an MRI after being injured in Sunday's win over the Rams.
Meanwhile, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Roethlisberger is expected to miss at least four weeks of action, though if the QB avoided an ACL tear, as hoped, a return as the season progresses would presumably be in the cards for him.
Sun Sep 27 201517:51Ben Roethlisberger: (Knee) Out At Least Four Weeks
Roethlisberger (knee) is expected to miss at least the next four weeks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Roethlisberger's official prognosis is subject to change depending on the results of Monday's MRI, during which the ACL in his left knee will be scrutinized. During his absence, Mike Vick is set to direct the Steelers' offense.
Sun Sep 27 201516:37Ben Roethlisberger: (Knee) MRI On Tap
According to head coach Mike Tomlin after Sunday's win at St. Louis, Roethlisberger will have an MRI on his left knee.
Such an examination is standard operating procedure for knee injuries, but this one will include intrigue, as Roethlisberger heads one of the league's most dynamic offenses. Once the official diagnosis emerges, we'll have a better indication of his return date, but he's almost certainly out in Week 4 with a Thursday night showdown against the Ravens on tap. If he sits out, as expected, Mike Vick will likely be under center Thursday.
Sun Sep 27 201515:19Ben Roethlisberger: (Knee) Won't Return Sunday
Roethlisberger has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game due to a knee injury, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Roethlisberger was carted off the field in the third quarter following a sack, and it's now known that a knee injury will keep him sidelined for the remainder of the contest. Mike Vick will take over and attempt to preserve what was a six-point lead at the time. Roethlisberger had been 20-for-24 with 192 yards and one interception prior to exiting.
Sun Sep 27 201515:13Ben Roethlisberger: Carted Off The Field
Roethlisberger was carted off the field in the third quarter of Sunday's game with an apparent leg injury.
Roethlisberger will head back to the locker room for further evaluation, while Mike Vick begins warming up on the sidelines. Look for the Steelers to update his status as soon as more information becomes available.

Roethlisberger completed 21-of-27 passes for 369 yards and three touchdowns Sunday against the 49ers, adding a pair of successful two-point conversions in the first half.
Roethlisberger and the Steelers put this game away early, as they took a 29-3 lead into the half. The team also went for two after each of its first three touchdowns, starting a potentially productive trend for Roethlisberger owners. Pittsburgh took the burden off its star quarterback's shoulders in the second half, but his first-half scoring explosion coupled with a garbage-time touchdown to Antonio Brown were more than enough to yield an excellent fantasy day nonetheless.

Roethlisberger completed 26-of-38 passes for 351 yards, with a touchdown and an interception in the Steelers' 28-21 loss to New England.
Playing from behind most of the game, Big Ben did a good job moving the Pittsburgh offense, but struggled in the red zone. He'll face a stingy San Francisco pass defense in Week 2 that allowed the fifth fewest yards per game last season.

Roethlisberger completed 11-of-14 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in the team's third preseason game.
Big Ben looked solid for the second preseason game, and is now 14-of-17 for 159 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Roethlisberger is not in line to play in Sunday's Hall of Fame Game against the Vikings, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
The same applies to teammates Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Maurkice Pouncey, Heath Miller and James Harrison, as the Steelers plan to rest several regulars in order to give some of their younger players an opportunity to showcase their talents in the team's preseason opener. Starting in place of Roethlisberger on Sunday will be Landry Jones, who is expected to play a significant amount of snaps in the contest.
Fri Aug 7 201512:04Roethlisberger unlikely to play in Sunday's preseason opener
Roethlisberger is unlikely to play in Sunday's preseason opener, Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest reports.
Roethlisberger is not hurt, and the Steelers may hold him, as well as a number of other veterans, out as merely a precaution.

Roethlisberger's new contract signed last week is worth $99 million over five years, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Roethlisberger scrapped his previous contract in favor of this new agreement that will keep him with the Steelers through the 2019 season. While the two-time Super Bowl Champion will be handsomely rewarded throughout the duration of his latest deal, Roethlisberger is slated to earn $53 million in salaries and bonuses over the next two years. At 33 years old, Roethlisberger is coming off a career-best 4,952 passing yards and 32 touchdowns last season.
Fri Mar 13 201516:08Ben Roethlisberger: Agrees To Contract Extension
Roethlisberger agreed to a contract extension with the Steelers on Friday.
The details of the contract are still forthcoming, but Big Ben was originally scheduled to earn $11.5 million next season. Coming off a career-best 4,952 passing yards in 2014 including 7.9 yards per attempt, it comes as no surprise the Steelers want to lock him up past 2015. Assuming he stays healthy, which hasn't been a problem throughout his career, Roethlisberger could be in line for another big campaign in 2015.

Roethlisberger's agent said the quarterback will not require knee surgery during the offseason, NFL.com's Conor Orr reports.
Roethlisberger appeared to sustain some sort of knee ailment in the Steelers' Week 16 win over the Chiefs, but it didn't prevent him from suiting up for the final regular season game nor the Wild Card loss to the Ravens. While Roethlisberger will be held out of the Pro Bowl for precautionary purposes, the expectation is that he will enjoy a normal offseason and enter 2015 completely healthy.

Roethlisberger completed 31-of-45 passes for 334 yards in Saturday's playoff loss to the Ravens. He threw a touchdown pass and ran for 16 yards but also threw two interceptions as well.
Roethlisberger put up more yards than he averaged in the regular season, but he could not do enough without LeVeon Bell to lead the Steelers to an opening-round victory. Roethlisberger put up the best numbers of his career this season, and he will be in prime position for another quality year in 2015 with all his primary weapons back in the fold.

Roethlisberger completed 24-of-38 passes for 317 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception, in Sunday's 27-17 win over the Bengals.
Roethlisberger was far from perfect while playing through a minor illness, but his previously middling stats got a huge boost late in the fourth quarter, when Antonio Brown took an intermediate pass for a 63-yard, game-sealing touchdown. Roethlisberger had an odd mixture of massive and mediocre performances this year, but the end result is easily the finest statistical season of his career. He either set or matched personal bests in completion percentage (67.1), passing yards (4,952) and passing touchdowns (32). Roethlisberger's own excellent play was a huge factor, but it's not as if he's ever been the problem. After years of dealing with a mediocre supporting cast, Roethlisberger benefited immensely from the emergence of Le'Veon Bell, along with a strong offensive line. Bell suffered a hyperextended knee in Sunday's game, and while the injury doesn't sound overly serious, there's perhaps some chance that the Steelers' workhorse won't be ready for Saturday's playoff game against the Ravens. Last time the two rivals met, Roethlisberger torched Baltimore for 340 yards and six touchdowns.

Roethlisberger completed 18-of-25 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's win over the Chiefs, but he took a huge hit in the third quarter that forced him back to the locker room to get his knee examined, though he returned before missing a snap, ESPN.com reports.
Roethlisberger returned from the injury to lead the Steelers on a 12-play, 70-yard drive that resulted in a field goal, and he didn't appear to be bothered by it later in the game. The good news is that he hasn't turned the ball over in three consecutive games, though on the flip side, he's thrown only one touchdown pass in the last two. Up next is a Week 17 matchup against the Bengals to determine the winner of the AFC North.
