Suisham (knee) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Burt Lauten of the Steelers' official site reports.

Suisham suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in Sunday's Hall of Fame Game, which will predictably require surgery and ends his season before it kicks off. After Monday's tryouts, the Steelers will give Garrett Hartley the first shot to fill what will likely be busy cleats in 2015.

Suisham, who has a torn left ACL, will have knee surgery this week, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

With Suisham likely headed for injured reserve as a result of his serious knee injury, the Steelers are in line to seek out another kicker. Whoever lands the job -- the report mentions Billy Cundiff, Shayne Graham and Jay Feely as potential options -- should emerge as a fantasy option, thanks to the team's capable offense.

Suisham indicated that the belief is that he tore his ACL in Sunday's preseason loss to Minnesota, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Suisham is slated to undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm such an outcome, but at this stage, it looks like the Steelers will be seeking another kicker in short order. Whoever lands the assignment would then merit fantasy consideration while working behind Pittsburgh's capable offense.

Suisham suffered a potentially significant left knee injury in Sunday's preseason loss to Minnesota, head coach Mike Tomlin told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Suisham was hurt when helping to make a tackle in the second quarter. The Steelers don't have another kicker on the roster, so the team is likely to sign another kicker even if the injury doesn't cause him to miss any regular season games.

Suisham converted three-of-three field goals (22, 45, 47) in Pittsburgh's 30-17 Wild Card loss to Baltimore on Saturday.

Coming off of the best season of his career, Suisham delivered when given the opportunity, although the team was forced to go for a two-point conversion trailing late in the game. Suisham has now connected on his last six post-season field goal attempts dating back to 2011.

Suisham made two-of-two field goals (25, 29) and 3-of-3 extra points in Pittsburgh's 27-17 win over Cincinnati on Sunday night.

Suisham finished the season seventh in scoring among kickers with 132 points. He converted 29-of-32 field goals and all 45 extra point attempts. The Steelers have Suisham under contract through 2018 and he should continue to produce for fantasy owners next season. That said, he faces the Ravens in a wild card game on Saturday, against which he averaged just 5.5 points in two games this season.

Suisham converted both field goals (23, 23) and both extra point attempts in Pittsburgh's 20-12 win over Kansas City on Sunday.

This was Suisham's fifth consecutive game with eight or more points. For fantasy owners still playing in Week 17 he faces the Bengals, against whom he scored 10 points earlier this season.

Suisham made both field goals (38, 38) and three-of-three extra point attempts in the Steelers' 27-20 win over Atlanta on Sunday.

Suisham continues to be reliable for fantasy owners, converting 25-of-28 field goals and all 40 extra point attempts. He should get plenty of scoring opportunities in Week 16 against the Chiefs, who rank 25th in the league, allowing opposing kickers eight fantasy points per game.

Suisham made two-of-two field goals (22, 44) and four-of-four extra points in Pittsburgh's 42-21 win over Cincinnati on Sunday.

On the year, Suisham has now converted 23-of-26 field goals and all 37 extra point attempts. He is a top 10 kicker, averaging over eight fantasy points per game.

Suisham connected on three-of-four field goals (31, 47, 49) and his lone extra point in Pittsburgh's 35-32 loss to New Orleans on Sunday.

Suisham continues to have a solid season, with his one miss this week coming from 54 yards. He'll face division rival Cincinnati in Week 14, against whom he scored 12 points in their last meeting in Week 15 last season.

Suisham made 2-of-2 field goals (23, 49) and all three extra point attempts in Pittsburgh's 27-24 win over Tennessee on Monday night.

Suisham has now converted all 32 extra point attempts and 18-of-20 field goals, including a career long of 53 yards. The Steelers will host New Orleans after their Week 12 bye.

Suisham made his lone extra point attempt and two-of-three field goals (27, 53) in the Steelers' 20-13 loss to the Jets on Sunday.

After going the previous two games without a field goal attempt, Suisham looked sharp on a 53-yard attempt as time expired in the first half, but hooked a 23-yard attempt wide left late in the game. The Steelers looked awful offensively all game, committing four turnovers, and falling behind early. They should fare better in Week 10 against the Titans, who allow opponents 24.8 points per game, giving Suisham more scoring opportunities.

Suisham was perfect on all five extra point attempts in Pittsburgh's 43-23 win over Baltimore on Sunday.

A sixth extra point conversion went awry when punter Brad Wing botched the hold, but scrambling to his right and connected with tight end Matt Spaeth for the 2-point conversion. Suisham has now gone two games without even attempting a field goal, as the Pittsburgh offense has been scoring touchdowns at ease thanks to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's record-setting 12 touchdown passes during that span.

Suisham made 7-of-7 extra point attempts in Pittsburgh's 54-31 win over the Colts on Sunday.

The Steelers' offense was firing on all cylinders and, as a result, Suisham did not attempt a field goal all game. He'll face a tough Baltimore defense in Week 9, against whom he provided all the scoring for Pittsburgh earlier this season in a 26-6 loss.

Suisham made three-of-three field goals (30, 40, 44) and three-of-three extra points in the Steelers' 30-23 win against Houston on Monday night.

Suisham continues to make the most of his opportunities. The question for Week 8 is just how many opportunities he'll get against a Colts team that allows the fourth fewest points per game (19.4) in the league.

Suisham made his only extra point and field goal attempt (20) for the Steelers against Cleveland on Sunday.

Another anemic offensive showing by Pittsburgh resulted in a low scoring game for Suisham, who missed an opportunity for another field goal when punter Brad Wing botched the hold on a 35-yard attempt.

Suisham was 2-for-2 on extra points and made his lone field goal attempt (24) in the Steelers' 17-9 win over Jacksonville on Sunday.

Pittsburgh struggled offensively against the Jaguars, limiting Suisham's scoring opportunities. He'll face Cleveland in Week 6, who he torched for three field goals and three extra points in Week 1.

Suisham made one-of-two field goal attempts (25) and three-of-three extra points in Pittsburgh's 27-24 loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Suisham's one miss came from 50 yards out as the first half ended, so fantasy owners should still feel good about inserting him in their lineup in Week 5 against an awful Jacksonville team.

Suisham was perfect in Pittsburgh's 37-19 romp of Carolina on Sunday, hitting all three field goal attempts (24, 42, 45) and all four extra point conversions.

Suisham has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners, connecting on eight-of-eight field goals and seven-of-seven extra points through three games. With Tampa Bay up next in Week 4, he should continue to be a viable kicking option for fantasy owners.
