SAN DIEGO (AP) — Four Seattle relievers were placed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday after the Mariners reported a positive test within the team. The Mariners did not identify who tested positive. INF Eric Campbell was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday for his fourth stint this season with the Mets. He made the team's Opening Day roster before being optioned on April 13. At Triple-A, Campbell batted .301 with 15 doubles, four triples, seven home runs and 47 RBIs in 83 games. In 30 games for the Mets, Campbell hit just .159.

INF Eric Campbell was called up to be the 26th man in the second game of the doubleheader in Pittsburgh, but didn't get into the game. He was sent back down to Triple-A Las Vegas after the game.

INF Eric Campbell was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday. Campbell started nine straight games for the Mets from May 20-29, including the final eight at first base, but he was just 3-for-29 during that stretch. He lost his job as well as his roster spot to 1B James Loney, who was acquired by the Mets on Saturday and activated in a corresponding transaction Tuesday. Campbell, who made the Mets' Opening Day roster before being sent down April 13 and recalled again three days later, is batting .159 with one homer and five RBIs in 30 games this season.

INF Eric Campbell will see more playing time at first base, according to manager Terry Collins, with the news Monday that 1B Lucas Duda has a stress fracture in his lower back. Campbell is hitting .200 with one RBI in 45 at-bats after going 0-for-3 Monday.

Campbell joins Eric Young, Jr. and Kevin Plawecki in being called up Tuesday, and he'll likely serve in a utility outfield role over the season's final month. Campbell hit just .176 in 156 at-bats earlier this season, but he demonstrated decent speed, so he could also see time as a pinch runner.

Campbell was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas to make room for Michael Cuddyer.

While many believed it would be Michael Conforto would be sent down to continue giving him regular at-bats, it is Campbell who gets sent down to make room for Cuddyer, who returns from the disabled list Monday. Campbell struggled in his time with the Mets, hitting .176 in 156 at-bats.

GM Sandy Alderson said that development takes a back seat to having the best 25 players on the Major League roster. That might mean that Campbell, who has just a .170 batting average despite several key pinch-hits recently, is sent to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Campbell will bat sixth and play first base Monday against the Nationals, according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.

Campbell played the second-half of Sunday's marathon game against the Cardinals and gets the start in favor of Lucas Duda on Monday. Campbell is hitting .170 across 52 games this season for the Mets with three home runs and 15 RBI.

Campbell is starting in left field Wednesday against the Giants.

The Mets are rotating players in left field with Michael Cuddyer sidelined with a sore left knee. Kirk Nieuwenhuis started Monday while John Mayberry got the nod Tuesday. Campbell gets his shot Wednesday with Jake Peavy on the hill for San Francisco.

Campbell walked three times, was hit by a pitch and scored three runs in Sunday's win over the Reds.

Campbell was in the throes of a deep slump, but the Reds put him on every time, thrice in front of pitcher Steven Matz, who followed up with three hits. Daniel Murphy is returning from the DL on Tuesday, and when he does he's expected to take over the regular third base duties until David Wright comes back, so Campbell will be getting far less playing time in the near future.

Campbell is out of the lineup Sunday against the Braves.

Campbell had been seeing consistent time at third base with David Wright (back) on the DL, but it looks like that run is nearing its end. According to manager Terry Collins, Ruben Tejada will serve as the primary third baseman until Wright is ready to be activated. Campbell will still stick around in the big leagues, but a .181 batting average and sporadic reps will greatly limit his fantasy value.

Campbell is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Braves.

An 0-for-4 showing in Friday's win lowered Campbell's batting line this season to .183/.278/.278 (133 PA). Danny Muno will step in Saturday for his third start of the year at third base and he could see a larger share of the playing time moving forward, though there have been murmurs that the Mets have been exploring options outside the organization.

Campbell rebounded from a first inning error to hit a two-run home run in the second and steal a pair of bases in the ninth in the Mets; 6-3 win over Arizona on Sunday.

Campbell recently ended an 0-for-28 skid and now has five hits his last three games. With Daniel Murphy (quad) out, Campbell could see substantial time again at the hot corner.

Campbell is starting at third base Friday against the Diamondbacks.

With Daniel Murphy (quad) landing on the disabled list, Campbell gets the first chance to fill his spot at the hot corner. Campbell has struggled mightily at the plate this season, so his possible hold on the spot is tenuous at best. If he struggles, look for Ruben Tejada and Danny Muno to start at second and third base.
