The Brooklyn Nets believe that former top overall pick Anthony Bennett and veteran guard Randy Foye have more in the tank.Bennett reached an agreement on a two-year contract with the club that will be worth the veteran's minimum and Foye accepted a one-year deal, according to multiple reports on Thursday.Brooklyn also signed guard/forward Caris LeVert to a multi-year contract.Bennett was selected with the first overall pick in the 2013 draft but struggled mightily in three seasons with Cleveland, Minnesota and Toronto. The 23-year-old Canadian averaged just 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds during those stints.A 6-foot-8 power forward, Bennett was traded along with Andrew Wiggins from Cleveland for Kevin Love in 2014 following a disastrous rookie season.Foye played in 81 games last season with Denver and Oklahoma City. G Randy Foye scored four points in the final 21 seconds, including a tiebreaking 3-pointer, and Denver rallied to beat Indiana 129-126. The Nuggets rallied to tie it late and went in front 126-123 on Foye's 3-pointer from the top of the arc with 20.9 seconds left. Foye floated to the 3-point area as G Will Barton drove to the basket to draw in the defense. "I got to the open area, and Will found me and I knocked the shot down," Foye said. "It's been a shot I've been working on all year."

It was a rather modest showing for Foye, who is locked into a competition with second-year player Gary Harris for the starting role. Harris is regarded as the superior defender of the two players, and has helped his cause by submitting double-digit scoring efforts in each of the Nuggets' three preseason games. That may give him a leg up in the job battle for now over Foye, who has shot 3-for-8 from three-point range over the three contests but has otherwise been largely quiet.

Foye will remain in Denver for the 2015-16 season after the Nuggets picked up his third-year option Saturday, Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reports.

The option on Foye's contract is for just $3.1 million, leaving an easy decision for the Nuggets who'll retain a veteran scorer that averaged 22 minutes per game last season. Given that Foye only made 50 appearances due to various injuries in the previous year, he'll compete for reserve playing time with Will Barton and Gary Harris this upcoming season.

Foye averaged 8.7 points (37% FG, 36% 3Pt, 82% FT), 1.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.2 blocks in 22 minutes per game during 50 regular season games in 2014-15.

Foye's 37 percent field goal percentage is the worst he's shot during his nine-year career. The 31-year-old guard is on the Nuggets' payroll for $3.3 million in 2015-16.
