Williams was waived by the Bucks on Tuesday, Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders reports.

Milwaukee acquired Williams as part of the Ersan Ilyasova trade earlier this month. It was purely a cap-clearing move by the Bucks, and the intent all along was to waive Williams. The veteran will become a free agent and seek a new team after spending time with the Nets, Lakers, Pistons and Heat since 2012.

Williams was traded from the Pistons to the Bucks on Thursday in three-player trade that also saw Caron Butler go to the Bucks and Ersan Ilyasova get moved to the Pistons, Yahoo Sports! reports.

Williams will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and Caron Butler has one more year on his contract at $4.5 million, but there has been some speculation that Butler might retire this offseason. This trade was likely just a salary dump for the Bucks, and there's a chance Butler and Williams will never play for Milwaukee next season.

Williams appeared in 19 contests for the Pistons, averaging 2.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 8.6 minutes per game.

Williams began the season with the Heat before being dealt to New Orleans at the trade deadline. He was waived by the Pelicans a few days later and Detroit claimed the Memphis product off waivers. Williams held down a deep bench role, seeing double-digit minutes in just six games. He struggled with his new team, particularly from beyond the arc. A career 34 percent three-point shooter, Williams, who was shooting 39.5 percent during his 44 games with Miami, converted at a horrendous 15.4 percent clip (4-of-26) as a member of the Pistons. Williams is under contract for a very palatable $1.4 million next season, and at this point it's unclear whether he'll see an increased role.

Williams returned from a two-game absence Tuesday and put up two points (1-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist, and one block in 13 minutes off the bench against the Raptors.

Williams has a limited role off the Pistons' bench, and he's been shockingly ineffective lately, muting his value in most standard leagues. Through 10 games with the Pistons, Williams has shot 32 percent from the field, six percent (not a typo) from beyond the arc, and 100 percent from the free-throw line.

Williams (illness) will return to the court Tuesday against the Raptors, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.

Williams missed the previous two games with an illness but is apparently feeling better after reportedly losing seven pounds while battling the ailment. Before his absence he was averaging just eight minutes on the court over his last four games so he's not expected to see much playing time moving forward.

Williams didn't even make the trip to Boston and should be considered day-to-day moving forward. His next opportunity to get back on the court will be against the Raptors on Tuesday.

Williams missed morning shootaround and is questionable to play Saturday against the Bulls, the Pistons' official site reports.

Williams has logged a combined 24 minutes in the past two games with Greg Monroe (knee) out of the lineup. However, with his status in question, Williams would yield time to Joel Anthony and Quincy Miller, if he's ruled out Saturday.

This was just the third time Williams played 15 or more minutes since joining the Pistons. Since Dec. 23, Williams hasn't broken more than eight points in a game.

Williams is still coming off the bench, but his return from a one-game suspension, he will get extra run at power forward Tuesday.

Williams will head to the Big Easy along with Norris Cole, while John Salmons, and his expiring deal, come to Miami. Williams projects to come off the bench and play a similar role in New Orleans, serving primarily as a spot-up shooter.

Williams is no longer dealing with a hip injury, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Williams missed the final five games before the All-Star break, but after an extra week of recovery, he's no longer battling the issue and is considered fully healthy heading into Friday's matchup with the Knicks.
