Wed Oct 1 201415:48Mensah-Bonsu added to Nuggets' training camp roster
Mensah-Bonsu was added to the Nuggets' training camp roster, the Denver Post's Christopher Dempsey reports.
The 6-foot-9 power forward hasn't played in an NBA game since 2010-11 and if he's fortunate enough to make the team out of camp, he'll be buried on the bench.
Tue Sep 24 201318:41Wizards invite Pops Mensah-Bonsu to camp
The Wizards have invited power forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu, as well as small forward Josh Childress, shooting guard Xavier Silas, and center D'or Fischer to training camp.
Even with Emeka Okafor (neck) out indefinitely, the Wizards still have some solid depth. Mensah-Bonsu may have a fun name, but there's little reason to pay attention to any of these guys.

Tue Oct 19 201001:24Mensa-Bonsu fighting for roster spot
Pops Mensah-Bonsu played like a man fighting for a roster spot on Monday, scoring 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting with 10 rebounds, one assist, four steals, and one block in 32 minutes off the bench.
He played that way because he is fighting for a roster spot, and with this performance 2008 first-round bust Joe Alexander probably shouldn't be looking at property in the New Orleans area. Pops will back up David West along with Jason Smith.

Sun Oct 17 201003:40Mensa-Bonsu leading Alexander for spot
Pops Mensa-Bonsu may have secured the Hornets' last roster spot on Saturday, with six points and nine rebounds in just 13 minutes off the bench.
He is a terror on the boards, but his lack of other skills make him difficult to play for long stretches. Joe Alexander, who flew up 'real' draft boards to get picked No. 8 for the Bucks in 2008, got the quick hook after two turnovers in two minutes and is on the verge of being cut.

The 27-year old journeyman was set to play overseas but that was nixed because of a rumored knee injury. If he makes the squad in New Orleans, he will be a big bruiser coming off the bench and not much more.

Mon Sep 13 201009:36Spanish team releases Pops Mensah-Bonsu
The Spanish team Caja Laboral has released Pops Mensah-Bonsu, possibly because of a knee injury.
The 27-year-old PF just signed overseas last month but the club said he "didn't pass satisfactorily the signing process." He averaged 19.3 points and 13.5 rebounds while helping Great Britain qualify for the European Championships, and should find another team before long.

Sun Aug 8 201022:13Pops Mensah-Bonsu signs w/ Spanish team
Former NBA power forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu has signed with a team in the Spanish league after spending last season with CSKA Moscow.
Pops could be a role player in the NBA, but has opted for what is surely a bigger role (and a bigger payday) overseas. He is currently playing for Great Britain in the Eurobasket qualifiers, and scored 27 points to lead the team to an OT victory on Sunday.
