Mon Mar 21 202219:23Georges Niang, Paul Millsap Starting On Monday
Philadelphia 76ers forwards Georges Niang and Paul Millsap will move into the starting five for Monday's game against the Miami Heat. Both James Harden and Joel Embiid will take the night off due to rest purposes. That means, Niang and Millsap will join Tyrese Maxey, Matisse Thybulle and Tobias Harris in the starting five. Maxey is probably the best fantasy option out of all the starters. However, Niang could have sneaky streaming appeal or DFS value, assuming he gets hot from beyond the arc.

Fri Feb 11 202218:39James Harden, Paul Millsap Will Not Make Team Debut Friday
Philadelphia 76ers point/shooting guard James Harden (trade) and center Paul Millsap (trade) have not yet been cleared to suit up with the team, ruling them out vs. Oklahoma City on Friday. Harden missed the final four games of his Nets tenure due to a tight left hamstring, as that will be an ailment to monitor moving forward. In the long-term, Harden's elite fantasy potential will only rise, as he is just one of two players (Chris Paul) to average a double-double this season with points and assists. Millsap is likely to fill a moderate bench role in the frontcourt, with his appeal emerging solely when/if Joel Embiid is forced to miss action. Their next chance to play comes Saturday against the Cavaliers.

Thu Feb 10 202218:23Paul Millsap Heads To Philadelphia At Trade Deadline
Brooklyn Nets power forward/center Paul Millsap has reportedly been acquired by the 76ers just prior to the trade deadline on Thursday, coming aboard alongside James Harden in this year's blockbuster deal. Millsap had fallen out of Brooklyn's frontcourt rotation, and with Andre Drummond joining the Nets in return, the veteran became expendable. Limited to a career-low 11.3 minutes per outing this season, Millsap has averaged just 3.4 points and 3.7 boards on a nightly basis. He is unlikely to play his way into season-long relevance with Philadelphia, but he should serve as an intriguing DFS asset should Joel Embiid be sidelined at any point.

Sun Feb 6 202213:54Paul Millsap Remains Out On Sunday
Brooklyn Nets forward Paul Millsap (personal) won't play on Sunday in Denver, as expected. The veteran remains out while the team looks to move him ahead of the February 10th trade deadline, so it's likely he has already played his final game in Brooklyn. However, with LaMarcus Aldridge (ankle) and Nicolas Claxton (hamstring) both out, the Nets certainly could have used him. Nevertheless, James Johnson, Day'Ron Sharpe, and Blake Griffin should handle most of the minutes in the frontcourt, although none of them have been consistent this season by any means.

Wed Jan 26 202218:15Nicolas Claxton, Paul Millsap Ruled Out For Wednesday
Brooklyn Nets centers Nicolas Claxton (rest) and Paul Millsap (personal) will be unavailable for Wednesday's contest vs. the Nuggets. Claxton is sitting the second leg of the team's back-to-back, having played 17 minutes in his return from a seven-game absence Tuesday. Millsap and the Nets have agreed to try and find the veteran a more favorable playing situation, so his absence is likely to press on beyond Wednesday. Day'Ron Sharpe and LaMarcus Aldridge both stand out as upside DFS plays, although they'll largely be tasked with keeping Denver's Nikola Jokic in check, no small obstacle in its own right. Fantasy managers can anticipate Claxton being cleared for Saturday against Golden State.

Mon Dec 13 202118:20Paul Millsap Lands In Health And Safety Protocols
Brooklyn Nets power forward/center Paul Millsap (health and safety protocols) has been placed in the league's health and safety protocols, knocking him out for an indeterminate period. Millsap's role off the bench for Brooklyn kept him from drawing much fantasy consideration, but his absence could pave the way for Blake Griffin to reenter the rotation, albeit in a limited capacity. LaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Claxton have taken over the lion's share of minutes at the five, with Millsap averaging just 3.4 points and 3.7 boards across 21 games. He stands to likely miss at least Tuesday's matchup with Toronto, but fantasy managers will want to check back for further updates as they become available.

Sun Dec 12 202116:18Paul Millsap Out For Personal Reasons On Sunday
Brooklyn Nets forward Paul Millsap (personal) won't play on Sunday in Detroit. The 36-year-old is averaging just over 11 minutes per game this season, so his absence likely won't impact the rotation too much. As a result, Nicolas Claxton, who recently returned after missing over a month because of a non-COVID-related illness, should get more work. His outlook is even more favorable, considering James Harden (rest) is getting the night off.

Fri Oct 8 202118:44Paul Millsap Out Due To Health And Safety Protocols
Brooklyn Nets power forward/center Paul Millsap will not play in the team's preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. He has been ruled out due to health and safety protocols. We don't know any other specifics at this point. The Nets will have some firepower on Friday as Kevin Durant and James Harden are both set to make their preseason debuts in the game. Kyrie Irving, meanwhile, is forced to sit as it's a home game. The team will be playing a heavily short-handed Bucks squad that will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee), Khris Middleton (hamstring) and Jrue Holiday (knee).

Fri Mar 26 202101:12Nuggets acquire forward Aaron Gordon from Magic
DENVER (AP) — The Denver Nuggets made another aggressive move at the trade deadline by acquiring forward Aaron Gordon from the Orlando Magic. The Nuggets officially announced the deal for Gordon late Thursday night. In exchange, the Magic receive veteran shooting guard Gary Harris, rookie R.J. Hampton and a future first-round draft pick. Denver also is receiving forward Gary Clark as part of the trade package. Earlier in the day, the Nuggets acquired backup center JaVale McGee from the Cleveland Cavaliers for Isaiah Hartenstein and two second-round picks. The 25-year-old Gordon averaged 14.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Magic this season. He was the fourth overall pick by Orlando in the 2014 draft. Gordon could find himself in the running to be in Denver's starting rotation — possibly in place of veteran Paul Millsap. He would join a lineup that includes Michael Porter Jr., Jamal Murray, Will Barton and All-Star big man Nikola Jokic as the Nuggets chase after their first... [More]

Mon Mar 15 202114:38NBA probe finds no proof of bigoted remark toward Millsap
The NBA said Monday that an investigation into whether Utah Jazz player Elijah Millsap had a bigoted remark directed at him during an end-of-season interview six years ago has ended and was unable to find proof that the statement was made. Millsap alleged last month that Dennis Lindsey, then the team’s general manager and now its executive vide president, said “if u say one more word, I’ll cut your Black ass and send you back to Louisiana" during that April 2015 meeting. Lindsey denied saying that, and the NBA's review — done by the league and with independent counsel — could not prove otherwise. Millsap and Lindsey were both interviewed, the NBA said, as were others who were part of that meeting. That would include Jazz coach Quin Snyder, who has said he was in the meeting but had no recollection of Lindsey using those words. “The investigation was unable to establish that the alleged statement was made," the NBA said. Millsap had no immediate comment when told of the NBA's decision. “Obviously,... [More]
Thu Feb 25 202119:53Jazz say they will investigate allegation of bigoted comment
The Utah Jazz said they will “thoroughly investigate” an allegation from former NBA player Elijah Millsap that longtime team executive Dennis Lindsey directed a bigoted statement toward him during an end-of-season exit interview in 2015. Millsap, the brother of former Jazz standout and current Denver forward Paul Millsap, made the allegation in a tweet Wednesday. Millsap alleged that Lindsey, then the team’s general manager, said “if u say one more word, I’ll cut your Black ass and send you back to Louisiana.” Lindsey, now the team’s executive vice president, has denied saying that. “The Jazz organization has zero tolerance for discriminatory behavior of any kind,” the team said in a statement Thursday night. “We take these matters seriously. We have proactively engaged outside counsel to work in coordination with the NBA to thoroughly investigate this matter. We seek a comprehensive and unbiased review of the situation.” Millsap did not immediately respond to a message seeking reaction... [More]

Tue Feb 16 202122:40Brown scores 27, Celtics outlast Jokic, Nuggets 112-99
BOSTON (AP) — Jaylen Brown had 27 points and eight assists to help the Boston Celtics withstand a 43-point night from Nikola Jokic and beat the Denver Nuggets 112-99 on Tuesday. Jayson Tatum added 21 points and eight assists as Boston bounced back following two anemic performances in back-to-back losses to Detroit and Washington — the Eastern Conference’s bottom two teams. “We just lost two bad ones. I think it was obvious we needed a win tonight,” Brown said. “We needed to come out with some energy. And for the most part we did.” It was Jokic’s third 40-point game of the season. Jamal Murray added 25 points but Denver had its three-game winning streak snapped. The Celtics led by as many as 15 in the first half and took an 11-point edge into the fourth quarter. Denver briefly got within seven points, but couldn’t string together a run down the stretch. “I think the energy was there. We just need to be a little bit smarter maybe,” Jokic said. The Nuggets were extremely short-handed playing... [More]

The Celtics led by as many as 15 in the first half and took an 11-point edge into the fourth quarter. Denver briefly got within seven points, but couldn’t string together a run down the stretch. The Nuggets were extremely short-handed playing without five rotation players, including Paul Millsap (left knee sprain) and Monte Morris (right shoulder strain). It left Jokic to pick up the offensive load and he did his best, scoring 15 of the Nuggets’ first 18 points. But that couldn’t offset... [More]
Thu Feb 11 202101:55Millsap scores 22 on 36th birthday, Nuggets rout Cavs 133-95
DENVER (AP) — Paul Millsap scored a season-high 22 points on his 36th birthday, Michael Porter Jr. added 19 and the Denver Nuggets routed the Cleveland Cavaliers 133-95 on Wednesday night to snap a three-game skid. The Nuggets opened a 23-point lead in the first half, saw it increase to 34 in the third — notoriously a problem quarter for them this season — and coasted from there as Nikola Jokic and his fellow starters got the fourth quarter off. Jokic finished with 12 points and 12 assists. “When we play the right way, we’re a really good team,” Millsap said. It was the fifth straight loss for the Cavaliers. It's also tied for their most lopsided loss of the season. They were beaten 141-103 on Jan. 24 at Boston. “To me, the Nuggets sent a clear message from the jump ball to the end of the game,” Cleveland coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “The message was, there was an intent to embarrass us, whether it was through physicality, whether it was showboating after plays, whether it was the shot... [More]

Wed Feb 10 202123:35Millsap scores 22, Nuggets rout Cavs to end 3-game skid
DENVER (AP) — Paul Millsap scored a season-high 22 points, Michael Porter Jr. added 19 and the Denver Nuggets routed the Cleveland Cavaliers 133-95 on Wednesday night to snap a three-game skid. The Nuggets opened a 23-point lead in the first half, saw it increase to 34 in the third — notoriously a problem quarter for them this season — and coasted from there as Nikola Jokic and his fellow starters got the fourth quarter off. Jokic finished with 12 points and 12 assists. It was the fifth straight loss for the Cavaliers. Jarrett Allen had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who are 0-2 on their five-game trip out West. Cleveland swept the season series with Denver last season. Denver's season-high 133 points meant a lot of eating for injured Cleveland forward Larry Nance Jr., who posted on social media a playful vow to consume as many McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets as the Nuggets scored points. Nance, sidelined with a broken left hand and not with the team, had 12 boxes of 10-piece... [More]
Wed Jan 20 202116:18Front & center: Nuggets big man Jokic steps up another level
DENVER (AP) — Nikola Jokic faced a situation he couldn’t pass, shoot or dribble his way through. The Denver Nuggets big man was befuddled by a simple yet complicated question: How does he define an NBA MVP? “I don’t know,” Jokic answered after a long pause. “Probably the best player in the NBA? The top scorer? I don’t know.” By any measure, the 7-footer who views himself equal parts center and point guard has definitely put himself in the early MVP conversation. After all, he is averaging a triple-double this season. Not only that, but he's displaying an array of dunks — he's never been known for his dunks — and a newfound aggressive shooting mentality that his coach certainly appreciates — and playfully takes credit. “I locked him in my office one day, and I beat him with a pillowcase filled with soda cans, and said, ‘You’ve got to score more,'" coach Michael Malone cracked. “He’s a great player. He’s playing at an MVP level.” Reserve point guard Monte Morris believes Jokic fully belongs... [More]
Thu Dec 3 202013:35Denver Nuggets re-sign Paul Millsap to one-year deal
DENVER (AP) — The Denver Nuggets have re-signed forward Paul Millsap to a one-year deal. Millsap has spent the last three seasons in Denver, averaging 12.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and a steal in 159 games. Although Millsap, 35, played fewer minutes (24.3) last season than he had in any season since 2007-08, he remained highly effective, averaging 11.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting a career-high 43.5% from three-point range. The 14-year NBA veteran helped the Nuggets reach the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2008-09 and his re-signing comes after Denver lost key frontcourt players Jerami Grant and Mason Plumlee in free agency. Last month, Millsap’s agent, DeAngelo Simmons, told The Athletic that Millsap’s deal with Denver would be worth more than $10 million. Millsap signed a three-year, $90 million deal with Denver in 2017 and last year he was set to make $30 million before having to take a coronavirus pay cut like the rest of the NBA’s players. ___ More AP NBA: https://apnews.com/tag/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
