Ronnie Brewer was waived by the Bulls on Tuesday.

Brewer's $1.3 million was fully unguaranteed, and he wasn't likely to have a significant role this season with Jimmy Butler, Mike Dunleavy, Tony Snell and Doug McDermott on the roster.

Ronnie Brewer pleaded not guilty to a DUI charge in Beverley Hills, California.

He was charged last month and prosecutors allege his blood-alcohol content was at 0.15 percent. Brewer could face a suspension should he find his way onto a roster next season.

Brewer is familiar in Chicago, where he played from 2010-2012, and he was brought in to provide some emergency depth on the wings for the playoffs. He averaged 0.3 in 23 appearances with the Rockets this season and his days as a viable fantasy option are long gone.

He's been hurt for much of the season and his career has really spiraled downward this season. Brewer played just 6.9 minutes per game and scored 0.3 per game in 23 games with the Rockets. He may have a tough time catching on with another team.

$100k is a nice paycheck by most standards, but this is the NBA. The relatively small amount the Rockets guaranteed to Brewer shows that he is fighting for a spot on the team. Don't count on him to contribute to the steals and FG% categories as in his earlier days with the Jazz.

The Rockets had a big summer with Dwight Howard coming to town, but they do lack some depth on the wing behind James Harden and Chandler Parsons. Brewer is capable of playing at a fast pace, so it's a nice fit for the team, as well. He's not worth drafting in any league.

He has no fantasy value, but owners of Kevin Martin have to hope he doesn't eat into his run. Martin had 14 points and two 3-pointers in just 18 minutes tonight, but the game was a blowout, so we're not overly concerned just yet.

Brooks said that Brewer may only have "one or two practices," but he doesn't think it will take long for Brewer to "blend in" with what the Thunder are doing.

Brooks said he wants Brewer to practice before he plays, which he should have time to do Monday and Tuesday. Brewer will play a mainly defensive role and backup Thabo Sefolosha and has no fantasy value.

Ronnie Brewer is unlikely to play on Friday for the Thunder.

Brewer has to undergo a physical after being traded to OKC, and the process may not be completed in time to debut with his new club on Friday.
