Thomas signed a deal with Germany's Eisbaeren Bremerhaven Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports reports.
The former top-five pick was last seen on an NBA court this past January, when he signed a 10-day deal with the Grizzlies. Prior to that, Thomas had not played in the NBA since the 2012-2013 season. The 29-year-old now has a chance to resurrect his career overseas in Germany.
Tue Jan 20 201517:07Thomas signed 10-day deal with Grizzlies on Tuesday
Thomas signed a 10-day deal with the Grizzlies on Tuesday, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Thomas, who has not played in the NBA since the 2012-13 season, recently spent two games with the Iowa Energy of the D-League, where he caught the attention of the Grizzlies. The former top-five pick has generally been written off as a bust, but at 28 years old, he's still an excellent athlete who can rebound and block shots. Right now it's unclear how he'll fit in with the Grizzlies, but it's a low-risk move that could pay dividends if he carves out a regular bench role.
Fri Aug 2 201309:35Tyrus Thomas training with John Lucas
Tyrus Thomas has been training with John Lucas this offense.
Lucas said on his Twitter account on Thursday that Thomas' first day "included some tough love."The coach has his work cut out for him and Thomas' minutes per game have dropped in each of his last six seasons. He'll likely get a camp invite from some team, but nothing is guaranteed at this point.

Wed Jul 10 201316:45Knicks could have interest in Tyrus Thomas
The Knicks could have interest in Tyrus Thomas if he passed through buyout waivers as expected.
The Bobcats officially bought out Thomas on Wednesday and any team that claims him would have to pick up his $9.4 million price tag for next season. The Knicks, who could definitely use frontcourt depth, would make sense for Thomas. We expect Thomas will land somewhere as a backup big man for next season.

Wed Jul 10 201314:13Bobcats officially buy out Tyrus Thomas
The Bobcats officially bought out Tyrus Thomas on Wednesday.
The Bobcats made the move to make room for Al Jefferson, but also to get out of a deal that's been a mistake for a long while. Thomas was scheduled to count $9.4 million this season and although he won't get anything close to that as a free agent, he should still be able to find a job as a depth big man.

Mon Apr 1 201322:43Tyrus Thomas scores 13 points vs. Bucks
The Bobcats gave Tyrus Thomas 23 minutes of playing time on Monday and he scored 13 points with two boards, two assists and one steal.
The Bobcats were missing Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Byron Mullens, which is why they let Thomas loose. MKG should be back for Wednesday, so Tyrus isn't exactly the Bryce Harper of basketball players in fantasy leagues. Jeff Taylor got the start and scores seven points with five boards, one steal and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes.

Sun Mar 17 201309:18Tyrus Thomas (personal) back w/ Bobcats
Tyrus Thomas (personal) has rejoined the Bobcats but he is not part of Mike Dunlap's rotation.
We're taking Thomas off the injury report, as he's merely been the victim of a string of DNP-CDs. He remains a leading candidate for the Bobcats' amnesty clause this summer.

Sat Mar 9 201311:01Tyrus Thomas finally active but doesn't play
Tyrus Thomas was active for the first time in 12 games Friday but did not get into the game.
Thomas was active because Ramon Sessions (sprained MCL) is sidelined. We imagine that will continue for the next four weeks while Sessions is out, but we don't expect Thomas to see much game action despite the $18 million left on his contract after this season. It's entirely possible he'll be amnestied this summer.

Tue Mar 5 201308:49Bobcats tell Tyrus Thomas to stay at home
The Bobcats have told Tyrus Thomas to stay home and he will not travel on the team's 4-game road trip.
President of basketball operations Rod Higgins said that the front office felt Thomas was better served working out and doing rehab in Charlotte than accompanying his team. Thomas is signed through 2014-15 and is owed approximately $18 million after this season. That's not bad for a guy averaging 4.8 points and who hasn't played in a game since February 6. He's a definite amnesty candidate in the offseason.

Sat Feb 2 201323:38Tyrus Thomas (knee) limited in return
Tyrus Thomas (knee) returned to action on Saturday with two points in seven minutes off the bench.
Jeff Adrian played 21 minutes and continues to start at PF, and there's no upside for either Thomas or Adrian because Byron Mullens (ankle) is targeting a return on Monday.

Fri Feb 1 201314:35Tyrus Thomas a game-time call Saturday
Tyrus Thomas (knee) is listed as a game-time call for Saturday's game in Houston.
Thomas has a mere bruise, but he shouldn't be near fantasy rosters anyway. Byron Mullens (ankle) is close to a return and Thomas has appeared in just eight of the Bobcats' last 14 games.

Wed Jan 30 201320:41Tyrus Thomas out for Wednesday's game
Tyrus Thomas will not play in Wednesday's game due to a left knee contusion.
The injury was suffered in practice on Tuesday and no report was released until Wednesday's tip vs. San Antonio. Tyrus has no value in almost any league. Jeff Adrien should play a little more while he's out and until Byron Mullens (ankle) can return.

Sun Jan 27 201311:07Tyrus Thomas finally gets off Bobcats bench
Tyrus Thomas had two points, six rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes Saturday.
It was the first time Thomas cracked double-digit minutes since Jan. 9 and only his second appearance in the last seven games. Unfortunately for Thomas, Byron Mullens is hopeful of returning on the team's upcoming road trip, which would likely eliminate whatever scattered minutes Thomas would have gotten.

Wed Jan 9 201323:05Tyrus Thomas plays 10 minutes in loss
Tyrus Thomas made another start at power forward Wednesday, but failed to score on 0-of-4 shooting and added just two rebounds.
Thomas played 38 minutes on Sunday, and while there's no report of an injury tonight, you have to wonder if he aggravated his calf injury. And once Byron Mullens returns from his ankle injury, Thomas will become an afterthought.

Sun Jan 6 201322:48Tyrus Thomas plays 38 minutes in spot-start
Tyrus Thomas played over 38 minutes in his first start of the season on Sunday, scoring 13 points on 4-of-14 shooting, with five rebounds, one steal and one block.
Usual starting PF Hakim Warrick (flu) was unavailable, and it's anyone's guess how long Thomas will stay healthy, so don't get too excited. He's still only 26 years old and we can't totally discount his upside (career averages of 0.8 steals and 1.4 blocks in 20 minutes per game), but the return of Warrick and eventually Byron Mullens (ankle) will eradicate his appeal.

Sun Jan 6 201318:57Tyrus Thomas will start on Sunday
Tyrus Thomas will start against the Pistons on Sunday.
Hakim Warrick is out with an illness and Thomas will be called upon in just his second game back from a severe calf injury. He played only 13 minutes in his debut, so it would be tough for him to play near 30 minutes. Thomas has been a huge fantasy tease over the years for his defense and he'd have to really go off in order to get our attention. Jeff Adrien should also see some playing time with Warrick out.

Fri Jan 4 201323:04Tyrus Thomas returns from his calf injury
Tyrus Thomas returned from his calf injury and scored four points with four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 13 minutes against Cavs on Friday.
He missed over seven weeks with the calf injury and the Bobcats could use him to help their lack of depth up front. Thomas and Hakim Warrick (four points, one rebound and two assists in 12 minutes) will split time at power forward, but as you can probably see don't offer much in the majority of leagues. Thomas has some upside for defense, but we'd need to see at least a few games before putting him on the radar.

Fri Jan 4 201317:54Tyrus Thomas likely to get 15-20 minutes
Coach Mike Dunlap would like to play Tyrus Thomas (calf) 15-20 minutes Friday night.
It's Thomas' first game since he strained his left calf way back on Nov. 17. He'll come off the bench as a shot-blocking athlete for Dunlap, but shouldn't cut into Hakim Warrick's minutes too much.

Fri Jan 4 201313:41Tyrus Thomas probable to play Friday
Tyrus Thomas (calf) is listed as probable for Friday.
Thomas was expected to return "very soon," but it wasn't expected to be this early. With Byron Mullens still nursing an ankle sprain, Thomas could see minutes right away.
