Rangers released RHP Sean Green.
Green made 13 relief appearances with the Brewers last season but had little chance to crack Texas' bullpen. The 32-year-old right-hander has a 4.41 ERA in the big leagues but is a long shot to make it back. He should be able to procure another minor league contract, if he so chooses.

Sean Green (ribs) may be close to returning from the disabled list.
After a misdiagnosis that led to a longer rehab than was at first expected, Green feels good for the first time since April. He even returned to his 3/4 arm slot after trying out the submarine style earlier this year. The Mets are required to make a decision on Friday, so he should be in the bullpen at Citi Field soon.

Mets placed RHP Sean Green on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right rib cage muscle.
