The news was passed along by Nick Collias of MLB Trade Rumors. We're still awaiting confirmation from the team, but Ballesteros was told of the signing by Dessens' agent. Dessens, 40, posted a superficially impressive 2.30 ERA over 53 appearances with the Mets last season, but had an awful 16/16 K/BB ratio over 47 innings.
