TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays put utility man Chris Coghlan on the 10-day disabled list Friday with a contusion to his left wrist.The move made room for the return of infielder-outfielder Steve Pearce from the disabled list, where he had been since May 15 with a strained right calf. Pearce started in left field for the game against the Chicago White Sox Friday.Pearce completed a rehabilitation assignment at Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A Buffalo, going 2-for-22 (.091). He was batting .205 with four homers and 10 RBIs in 27 games before he went on the DL.Coghlan was batting .200 with one homer and five RBIs in 36 games.

UT Chris Coghlan signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays. Coghlan, 31, will accept an assignment to Triple-A Buffalo to begin the season. He initially signed a minor league deal with the Phillies in February, only to be released Tuesday.
