Tue Jan 24 201208:38Report: Bulls offer Fabricio Oberto contract
The Bulls have reportedly offered Fabricio Oberto a contract to play this season.
Oberto's agent said that it's up to his client as to whether or not he wants to play, but we'll take this report with a grain of salt. Oberto was delaying his retirement until January and was set to sign overseas earlier this month, so we'll have to wait to see if Oberto will continue playing.

Fabricio Oberto is delaying his retirement decision until January.
Oberto retired last year due to a heart condition, but said he's working out and might attempt a comeback if the lockout is lifted. The salty veteran could probably find a spot on a roster for the veteran's minimum.

Thu Nov 4 201020:22Oberto retires due to heart condition
The Blazers announced on Thursday that Fabricio Oberto has retired due to a heart condition.
This news comes after Oberto left Tuesday's game in the first half with lightheadedness and dizziness. The Blazers now have just one true center available (Marcus Camby), which means that Dante Cunningham will see extended minutes until Joel Przybilla returns.

Thu Nov 4 201014:42Oberto out Thursday w/ light-headedness
Blazers center Fabricio Oberto experienced some light-headedness during Tuesday's victory and will not play against Oklahoma City on Thursday.
Oberto was brought in for emergency frontcourt depth, and his absence leaves the bench thin until Joel Przybilla returns. Consider him day-to-day.

Wed Oct 27 201002:06Oberto gets three minutes in debut
Fabricio Oberto, who signed with Portland on Monday, played three minutes and didn't score in Tuesday's win.
He could get some run if Marcus Camby suffers an injury, but as of now, it doesn't look like he'll have fantasy value any time soon.
Mon Oct 25 201020:31Oberto officially signs with Blazers
Fabricio Oberto officially signed with Blazers on Monday.
He could see some minutes early on with the Blazers banged up down low, but burning a draft pick on him or owning him doesn't make sense right now.

Mon Oct 25 201016:15Oberto still hasn't practiced with Blazers
Fabricio Oberto still hasn't practiced with the Blazers and has his physical scheduled for Monday afternoon.
He could be forced into early action given the Blazers' lack of health at center, but we'd be leery about owning or using him in fantasy right now.

Fri Oct 22 201020:28Report: Oberto reaches agreement with Blazers
Fabricio Oberto will sign a one-year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Don't be fooled into thinking Oberto will have value with the Blazers, even though they are desperate for bodies at center. He will probably fare better in Portland that he did with the Spurs, but he's not a guy we'd target in standard 12-team leagues. And given the fact that he's a center in Portland, he's probably already been cursed anyway.

Mon Oct 18 201019:43Blazers contact Oberto, nothing offfered
The Blazers have contacted free agent PF/C Fabricio Oberto, but have not offered him a contract, yet.
They could use the depth in their oft-injured frontcourt, and if he does land in Portland he could be useful if the chips fall the right way. Under no scenario, however, should owners be considering him on draft day.

Fri Jun 18 201010:52Oberto to play for Argentina this summer
Fabricio Oberto will play for his Argentina at the World Championships in Turkey this summer.
"Without Manu, we need as many players from the old hierarchy as possible," said coach Sergio Hernandez. "Fabricio has had no major injuries and is very well physically. He may be older (35) but his experience, intelligence and mentality are very important."
