Fri Aug 23 201316:34Johan Petro bolts for China
Free agent Johan Petro has reportedly signed with Zhejiang Guangsa Lions of the Chinese League.
Petro has been in the league as a second or third center since 2005. Last year, he appeared in 31 games for the Hawks and averaged 3.5 points and 3.6 rebounds in 11.3 minutes a night. Petro is just 27 years old and a true 7-footer, but NBA interest was apparently non-existent.

Mon Apr 29 201316:56Johan Petro en route to Atlanta, still a GTD
Johan Petro (wife having baby) is en route to Atlanta but it's unknown if he'll arrive in time for Monday's Game 4.
Tip-off tonight is scheduled for just after 7:30 p.m. ET. Petro is technically being called a game-time decision, but this situation is more up to timing than anything else. Even if Petro is available, it's unclear how much of a role he'll have beyond playing roughly 15 minutes.

Johan Petro (wife having baby) skipped shootaround, but he's still expected back in time for Monday's Game 4 vs. the Pacers.

Sun Apr 28 201312:49Johan Petro questionable to play in Game 4
Johan Petro (wife having baby) is questionable for Game 4 vs. the Pacers.
Petro's wife is expecting their new baby on Sunday, and it's unclear if the center will be back in time for Game 4. Even if he's unavailable, it should have no impact on the Hawks or fantasy leagues despite Petro starting (and playing under 14 minutes) in Game 3.

Johan Petro (wife having baby) will not play Wednesday against the Sixers.
Petro didn't travel with the team to Philadelphia and remains in Florida with his expectant wife. His absence shouldn't affect your fantasy league. Kyle Korver, on the other hand, rejoined the Hawks and will continue his 3-point barrage against the 76ers.

Johan Petro (wife having baby) remains away from the team.
Petro's with his expectant wife in Florida, leaving his status for Wednesday against the Sixers up in the air. His availability shouldn't impact any fantasy leagues with Al Horford and Josh Smith healthy.

Sat Apr 6 201323:15Johan Petro double-doubles w/ 11 & 15
Hawks center Johan Petro scored 11 points and tied his career-high with 15 rebounds in a fill-in start for Al Horford on Saturday.
Petro even chipped in a steal and a block in his 31 minutes, about as good a game as we could have hoped for from the eight-year veteran. Horford (hamstring) has until Wednesday to recuperate, which makes Petro a very dubious fantasy pickup.

Sat Mar 30 201322:19Johan Petro starts again for Hawks on Sat.
Johan Petro had six points, seven rebounds and one block in another start at center for the Hawks on Saturday.
He also dished out two assists in 18 minutes of action. Zaza Pachulia is done for the year with a partially torn Achilles, which guarantees Petro a role in the rotation, but his fantasy relevance will vanish once Al Horford (illness) returns.

Johan Petro went to the locker room in the first quarter of Monday's game.
He's dealt with some back issues and it's unclear what the injury is. Petro played 19 minutes on Sunday, but he doesn't have fantasy value in the vast majority of leagues.

Thu Mar 14 201300:27Johan Petro double-doubles Wednesday
Johan Petro grabbed a season-high 11 boards with 10 points and two assists in Wednesday's 96-92 win over the Lakers.
He matched his season high in points and it was obviously his best game of the year. Petro has four DNPs in his last seven games, so his value will evaporate once Josh Smith can return to the lineup.

Sat Mar 9 201321:44Johan Petro starts, plays just 14 minutes
Johan Petro had 10 points, six rebounds and zero blocks in his second consecutive start at center, logging 14 minutes in the Hawks' home loss.
Zaza Pachulia (Achilles) has no return date, but owners shouldn't get too comfortable with Petro as the starting center, which shifts Al Horford (15 points, 12 rebounds) to PF and Josh Smith (12 points) to SF. Larry Drew frequently changes his lineups on-the-fly and he'll probably lean toward small lineups vs. the Heat on Tuesday and the Suns on Friday.

Tue Mar 5 201312:03Johan Petro sounds off on role with Hawks
Johan Petro sounded off on his role with the Hawks this season, calling his experience "awful."
"It's just tough to be in that position," he said. "That's the business." He's played in less than a third of the Hawks games this season and is averaging 2.4 points to go along with 1.8 rebounds. An unrestricted free agent after the season, we think it's safe to say he won't be returning to Atlanta.
