Thu Aug 13 201509:24Randolph agreed to three-year
Randolph agreed to a three-year, $7 million deal with China's Liaoning squad on Wednesday, Basketball Insiders reports.
The deal includes an opt-out clause after each season, so Randolph could return to the league late next season at the earliest. He played 21 games last season split between the Suns and Celtics. A relative nonentity, Randolph has averaged 2.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in 8.2 minutes per game for his career. Unlikely to land similar dollars in the NBA, Randolph could be a mainstay in the Chinese Basketball Association.
Thu Apr 9 201518:02Randolph expected to be released by Nuggets
Randolph is expected to be released by the Nuggets, the Denver Post reports.
Randolph was claimed off waivers Wednesday in a move made purely for salary reasons. The Nuggets are trying to get as close to the salary floor as possible to avoid having to pay a penalty for failing to meet the minimum team payroll of $56.759 million. By releasing Randolph, the Nuggets can maintain his cap hit - assuming he clears waivers - bringing them closer to the salary floor. The move would also free up a roster spot to bring in a player who could remain on the roster through the summer and training camp.
Wed Apr 8 201517:38Randolph awarded to Nuggets off waivers on Wednesday
Randolph was awarded to the Nuggets off waivers on Wednesday, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.
Randolph was waived by the Celtics on Monday after he declined to sign a non-guaranteed deal for next season. He'll spend the final week-and-a-half of the season with the Nuggets, where he'll likely serve an end-of-the-bench role. Randolph played only 24 minutes for Boston after coming over from Phoenix in mid-January.
Mon Apr 6 201517:56Randolph waived by Celtics on Monday
Randolph was waived by the Celtics on Monday, the team's official site reports.
Since he was dealt from Phoenix to Boston on Jan. 15, Randolph has made merely five appearances, averaging 1.4 points (on 30 percent shooting) and 1.6 rebounds in five minutes. Such production is disposable for a developmental player like Chris Babb, who was signed by the Celtics on Monday.

Randolph has yet to play in any of the 14 games in which he has been on the Celtics roster.
The 31-year old veteran doesn't really need to rest this All-Star break. Should Boston pull off a big trade before the deadline, Randolph could be included as a chip that helps balance out salaries.

Randolph is yet to appear in a game since coming to Boston in a trade from Phoenix earlier in the month. The former Duke standout will likely serve as a fringe-rotational big man once healthy.

Randolph was traded to Boston on Thursday in a three-team deal that sent Austin Rivers to the Clippers and Reggie Bullock to the Suns, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.
Randolph, who's appeared in only 16 games for the Suns, is essentially a throw-in in the deal and could be waived by the Celtics in short order. The former Duke standout has played for five NBA teams since entering the league in 2005 and spent a brief, 16-game stint in Boston during the 2012-13 campaign.

Randolph is averaging just 6.3 minutes on the court this season over the eight games that he's seen time on the court.
Randolph is one of the last options off the bench in Phoenix this season and there's not much reason to believe that will change in the near future. Unless injuries sweep over the Suns, Randolph will be a limited option off the bench as the season continues.

Randolph played 26 minutes and scored 10 points against the Lakers Tuesday.
Randolph was dealing with a minor knee injury last week, but he was able to play in the Suns last few games and should be ready to go for the regular season opener. Either way, he'll probably only get minimal time as a reserve.
Thu Oct 16 201414:54Randolph (knee) won't play Thursday against Spurs
Randolph (knee) won't play Thursday against the Spurs.
Randolph is dealing with a minor knee injury and will sit out, leaving the Suns with 13 active players Thursday. The forward will hold down a minor bench role this season, if he sticks on the roster.
Sun Mar 2 201423:12Suns PF Shavlik Randolph plays 10 minutes
Newly-acquired Suns PF Shavlik Randolph logged 10 minutes off the bench on Sunday, scoring two points with two rebounds and one steal.
Head coach Jeff Hornacek praised Randolph's "knack" for rebounding before the game, but the 30-year-old PF is not a fantasy option even if he does emerge as a regular rotation player.

Sat Mar 1 201414:10Suns sign PF Shavlik Randolph
Suns sign PF Shavlik Randolph.
He last played for Boston in 2012-13, when he shot 58.3 percent from the field and grabbed 4.4 rebounds in just 12 minutes per game. He's a career 54.8 percent FT shooter with a penchant for foul trouble, however, and a limited role off the Suns' bench isn't likely to yield fantasy value outside of the deepest leagues. He will be available to play vs. the Hawks on Sunday.

Thu Aug 1 201318:04Celtics decline to pick up Randolph's option
The Celtics declined to pick up Shavlik Randolph's $1.1 million team option for the 2013-14 season.
This sounds like a pure financial decision for a team trying to save on the luxury tax. Randolph's contract would've become guaranteed if he were still on the roster Thursday. The 6-foot-10 big man should still be able to find some work as a backup forward.

Thu Jul 18 201309:32Report: Celts prefer to keep Shavlik Randolph
The Celtics would "clearly prefer" to pick up their $1.1 million team option for Shavlik Randolph, but they might let him leave to save on the luxury tax.
There's a slight chance that Boston can slash their payroll down below the luxury-tax threshold before Aug. 1, when Randolph's deal becomes fully guaranteed. If letting Shavlik leave doesn't help with the tax, however, the 6'10" big man should earn reliable minutes off the bench. The Boston Globe says that he "may be one of the best rebounders on the [Celtics] roster."

Fri Jun 7 201310:15Ainge: Randolph has good chance of returning
Celtics GM Danny Ainge hinted Shavlik Randolph has a strong chance of returning to the Celtics next season.
The team holds an option on Randolph's deal, and Ainge understands his value. "Shav helped us a lot," he said. "He's a guy that will probably have the best chance of being with us in the future, just because he rebounds, and that was one of our weaknesses." It wouldn't surprise us to see Randolph stick as a backup behind Kevin Garnett.

Wed Apr 17 201321:29Shavlik Randolph leaves with sore lower back
Shavlik Randolph left Wednesday's finale with a sore lower back.
He had five points and four boards in 13 minutes, but don't look for him to see much action in the playoffs. As for his back, we're guessing it's nothing serious.

Fri Apr 5 201323:36Shavlik Randolph goes off in 13 minutes
Shavlik Randolph was efficient in his 13 minutes of action in Friday's 97-91 loss to the Cavs, scoring 16 points with seven boards and one steal.
His 16 points were a season high and he got some extra burn with the Celtics missing Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett on Friday. As nice as this line was, it'll be tough for him to have any value in just 13 minutes.

Thu Mar 21 201315:30Celtics sign Randolph to multi-year contract
The Celtics officially signed Shavlik Randolph to a multi-year contract Thursday.
This was an expected move that will keep Randolph with the Celtics at least through the end of this season. He'll provide the team decent depth up front as they finish out the regular season and enter the playoffs.

Wed Mar 20 201312:11Celtics expected to keep Shavlik Randolph
The Celtics are expected to sign Shavlik Randolph for the rest of the season.
No surprise here as Randolph's second 10-day contract is set to expire and the team wants to keep him for the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs.

Sun Mar 17 201309:16Shavlik Randolph unusually active Saturday
Shavlik Randolph scored six points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds vs. the Bobcats on Saturday, playing more than 16 minutes off the bench.
Kevin Garnett's absence cleared extra playing time for Shavlik, who doesn't have fantasy appeal outside of the deepest leagues. The Celtics, by the way, have quietly won 11 straight home games dating back to late January.
