Hakim Warrick has signed with Liaoning Jiebao in China, but he hopes to return to the NBA when the CBA season ends.

No NBA team was willing to give Warrick a contract this season, so he'll keep himself in shape and give scouts something to consider while playing overseas for the next few months. He won't be a fantasy option even if he does earn a minimum deal when he returns.

He was expected to be waived and may have a tough time catching on with another team. Warrick was barely playing on the league's worst frontcourt in Charlotte, so he can remain on the waiver wire in all leagues. Andrew Nicholson should have no problem holding down the fort at power forward and he's worth a long look in standard leagues.

The Magic traded for Hakim Warrick on Thursday, sending Josh McRoberts to the Bobacts in return.

Warrick has a $4 million team option for 2013-14, and the next few months may determine whether the Magic keep him around. We don't expect him to have fantasy relevance as long as Moe Harkless, Andrew Nicholson and Gustavo Ayon are healthy.

Kemba Walker (11 points, five assists) was the only starter to crack double-digits as Charlotte dropped their 16th consecutive home game, as Michael Jordan looked on helplessly. Byron Mullens (ankle) remains out indefinitely with a severe ankle sprain, but Warrick hasn't even been worth spot-starting.

Warrick hit 5-of-12 shots and is worth a look in some deeper formats, but his inconsistency and the eventual return of Byron Mullens are major issues.

He's worth a look in some leagues, but he'd likely take a big hit once Byron Mullens (ankle) comes back.

Hakim Warrick played a team-high 33 minutes vs. the Pacers, scoring 13 points with seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

Warrick can provide some desperately needed scoring punch while Byron Mullens (ankle) is out of commission, though there are no guarantees Mike Dunlap will continue to play him 30+ minutes. He's averaging 9.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 turnovers as a starter, with no other stats to speak of, and he's too risky to own in standard formats.

Hakim Warrick started at power forward for the Bobcats on Friday and had two points, one rebound and one turnover in 11 minutes against the Raptors.

He almost had a double-double with 10 points and eight boards on Wednesday, but he failed to block a shot in six of his last seven games. Warrick is also shooting just 38 percent from the field this year and doesn't really hold much value in standards with his lack of upside. Tyrus Thomas played just seven minutes and only scored two points. His value is even less than Warrick's.

Hakim Warrick returned from the flu and had 10 points and eight rebounds in 18 minutes off the Bobcats bench on Wednesday.

Tyrus Thomas started, but lasted just 10 minutes, as it appears the Bobcats went small against Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap and company. Warrick might have some value if he were starting and blocking shots, but it's not happening. And once Byron Mullens is back, Warrick and Thomas will fall off the map.

Warrick didn't practice Tuesday as he continues to get over his sickness. There's not a ton of upside here with limited minutes a possibility and Byron Mullens (ankle) on his way back.

He was heating up about a week ago, but just 6.0 points and 3.5 boards with no blocks in his last two games have put his fantasy value to bed in most formats. Tyrus Thomas and Jeff Adrien should pick up some extra playing time with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist also possibly seeing time at power forward.

To make matters worse, he hit 3-of-10 FGs and 2-of-5 FTs without any steals or blocks. He's capable of returning low-end value until Byron Mullens and/or Tyrus Thomas return, but he's not off to a great start as Charlotte's starting PF.

We've been quietly touting Warrick as a fantasy option while Byron Mullens (ankle) recuperates, and this is precisely why. Tyrus Thomas is nursing a calf injury and admiring his bank account, and as long as Bismack Biyombo is playing center there's not a lot of competition at PF.

Hakim Warrick played 26 minutes in another start at power forward and scored 13 points to go with four rebounds in Friday's loss to the Nets.

He didn't block a shot and has never really been much of a shot blocker with just 0.3 per game over his career. On the other hand, Warrick has very little competition for minutes with Byron Mullens (ankle) on the shelf and should be able to provide solid points and boards. He's worth an add in most formats.

He's filling in for Byron Mullens, who could miss a month with a severely sprained ankle, and while we doubt he plays this well on most nights, if you need a big man and have someone to cut, Warrick is going to be a hot pickup in most leagues tonight. Go get him, as he is really the only PF option for the Cats right now.

After barely playing for most of December, Warrick had 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in 41 combined minutes over the last two games. With Byron Mullens (ankle sprain) out up to a month, Warrick could see some significant minutes. Keep an eye on him from the waiver wire to see what the former Syracuse Orange does with the opportunity.

Hakim Warrick got his first meaningful minutes in a while Friday, scoring nine points on 3-of-8 shooting and grabbing six rebounds in 23 minutes.

Before Friday night, Warrick had played just 2 minutes since Dec. 8. It's good to see him get some run, but Warrick will remain fantasy irrelevant unless he gets consistent minutes.

Tyrus Thomas' strained calf immediately gives Warrick more playing time, but he's not likely to surface with reliable value. No word on whether Charlotte also acquired "Bones Warrick," Hakim's skeletal counterpart, as part of the trade for Matt Carroll.

The Hornets have traded Hakim Warrick to the Bobcats in exchange for Matt Carroll.

The Bobcats finally rid themselves of Carroll's contract, which pays him $3.5 million this season, while taking on Warrick's expiring $4 million salary. Tyrus Thomas is struggling, as usual, and Warrick may pick up some reserve minutes at PF in Charlotte, but he's not a fantasy consideration.
