Tigers released LHP David Robertson.
The 36-year-old had been pitching at Triple-A Toledo where he compiled a 3.43 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 12/13 K/BB ratio over 21 innings of work. He'll look for another organization willing to take a chance on him, but it could be the end of the line for Robertson.

Robertson signed the deal with the Tigers last week and reported to the minor league side of camp. The 36-year-old left-hander posted a promising 3.04 ERA in 50 1/3 innings last season for the Rangers' Triple-A team and could help the Tigers as a left-handed relief specialist at some point in 2014.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports that Nate Robertson is looking for a chance to compete for a relief job in spring training and "has spoken with several clubs."
Robertson hasn't appeared in the majors since 2010 but pitched well at Triple-A for the Rangers last season, posting a 3.04 ERA while holding left-handed batters to a .213 average. The 36-year-old should be able to get a minor league deal from someone.

Wed Jan 9 201320:10Nate Robertson looking for relief role
FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi reports that Nate Robertson is looking for a chance in a major league camp as a lefty specialist.
Robertson hasn't appeared in the majors since 2010 and put up an 8.07 ERA over 23 games at Triple-A in 2012. He did hold left-handed batters to a .220/.245/.400 line, though, so perhaps someone will give him a shot on a minor league deal.

Sun Mar 6 201117:09Robertson hit hard by Giants
Nate Robertson turned in a clunker against the Giants on Sunday, giving up four hits, two walks and four runs in three innings of work.
He struck out just one. Robertson figures to prolong his career in the pitcher-friendly environs of Safeco Park this season, but he has to make the team first. Days like today won't help him beat out David Pauley and Luke French for one of the Mariners' final rotation spots.

Nate Robertson turned in two scoreless innings in a start Tuesday against the Rangers.

Tue Jul 20 201021:44Robertson beat up by Rockies in loss
Nate Robertson was torched for eight runs -- seven earned -- in five innings Tuesday as the Marlins were drilled by the Rockies 10-0.
Robertson allowed six hits and two walks while striking out five. The ugly outing spiked his ERA to an unsightly 5.47, which just might give the Marlins the opportunity to ponder booting the veteran left-hander from the rotation and giving his spot to a youngster. Until that point, continue to ignore Robertson in all formats.
