Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com says "several teams have checked in and want to track (Martinez's) progress." Martinez was non-tendered by the Braves this winter after undergoing shoulder surgery in July, but it sounds like he should be ready at some point in the first half.

Cristhian Martinez underwent shoulder surgery on Tuesday.
Martinez revealed the news himself on Twitter before Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez even knew about it. "I knew it was a possibility," Gonzalez said. It's not clear what kind of surgery Martinez had or how long he'll be sidelined, but it seems likely that his season is over.

Cristhian Martinez (shoulder) will have his rehab assignment moved to Double-A Mississippi.
Martinez, out since April 12 with a right shoulder sprain, struck out four in two scoreless innings Friday during an appearance with the Braves' rookie league team. No word on how many more appearances he'll need, but a return before the All-Star break appears realistic.

Cristhian Martinez (shoulder) still doesn't have a timetable for his return.
The Braves reliever has been sidelined since April 12 with a right shoulder sprain, and apparently it was serious enough that the Braves still don't have any idea when he might be back. The right-hander had a 3.91 ERA with 65 strikeouts in 73 2/3 innings last year.

Cristhian Martinez was arrested for DUI early Monday morning in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
Martinez was jailed at 4:24 a.m. and was also charged with improper lane change and impeding the flow of traffic. The 30-year-old righty secured a spot in the Braves' Opening Day bullpen this spring by registering a 1.38 ERA and 13/3 K/BB ratio in 13 Grapefruit League innings.

Cristhian Martinen pitched two perfect innings out of the pen Saturday against the Blue Jays.
He's allowed one run in eight innings this spring. With Arodys Vizcaino likely to start off on the DL and Peter Moylan absent, Martinez will be asked to pitch key innings for the Braves. He rates as a pretty good $1 reliever in NL-only leagues.

Martinez posted a 5.06 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 10/1 K/BB ratio over 10 1/3 innings for the Braves earlier this season. He's had nice numbers at Triple-A (3.28 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 45/8 K/BB ratio over 49 1/3 innings) and will give Atlanta another arm out of the bullpen. It's expected that he's replacing Kris Medlen on the roster, though Medlen hasn't been officially placed on the DL yet.

He'll take the roster spot left by Craig Kimbrel. Martinez, 28, was claimed off waivers from the Marlins in early April. He posted a 5.04 ERA in 12 relief appearances with Triple-A Gwinnett. He was 1-1 with a 5.13 ERA over 15 relief appearances with the Marlins last season.
