Clary underwent a second hip surgery about a week ago and could miss the entire season, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Clary has gone under the knife twice in the last three months to repair his hip and he also had a a procedure on his shoulder in February. Although the Physically Unable to Perform list contains a wide window in which a player can be activated and return to the field, it seems possible that Clary will not be able to play this year. With this being the last year of his current contract, Clary may have played his last game as a Charger. Johnnie Troutman worked at right guard this preseason and is expected to start in the veteran's place.
Mon Jul 28 201417:04Chargers OG Clary agrees to $2.95M pay cut
Injured Chargers RG Jeromey Clary (hip, PUP) has agreed to a $2.95 million pay cut.
Recovering from hip and shoulder operations, Clary has slashed his salary from $4.55 million to $1.6 million, likely saving his roster spot. Clary is shaping up as a candidate to spend the first six games of the season on reserve/PUP, leaving third-rounder Chris Watt in the driver's seat at right guard.

Wed Jul 23 201416:12Chargers place RG Clary (hip) on active/PUP
Chargers placed RG Jeromey Clary (hip) on the active/PUP list.
Clary underwent offseason hip and shoulder surgeries and was still on crutches last month. There have been rumblings he may not be ready for the opener and could open the season on reserve/PUP, which would keep him sidelined the first six weeks. Rookie Chris Watt will handle starter's reps in Clary's place.

Thu Jul 17 201410:53Jeromey Clary's health status uncertain
Chargers RG Jeromey Clary (hip, shoulder surgeries) missed all of spring practices and was still on crutches as of mid to late June.
The U-T San Diego calls Clary a "player to watch" because his health is uncertain. The Chargers did draft Chris Watt in the third round, and he could threaten Clary's job even at 100 percent. With or without Clary, San Diego's offensive line should be plenty functional in 2014 after a rock-solid 2013 showing.

Mon Jun 2 201414:13Jeromey Clary recovering from 2 surgeries
Chargers RG Jeromey Clary is recovering from offseason surgeries on his hip and shoulder.
It's unclear both when the operations took place, and whether Clary will be ready for training camp. Owed a $4.55 million base salary, Clary could be a late-camp release candidate if he doesn't recover on schedule. He continued to struggle as a blocker in 2013, and the Bolts drafted Chris Watt in the third round.

Thu Feb 13 201410:16Chargers RG Clary a candidate for release
ESPN Chargers blogger Eric Williams considers RG Jeromey Clary a candidate for release.
The Bolts are currently projected to be about $2 million over the cap. Releasing 30-year-old Clary would clear $4.55 million. Clary kicked inside to guard after the team drafted RT D.J. Fluker in the first round last year. He started every game and graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 72 guard out of 81 qualifiers. San Diego has a number of veterans who could be cut, including Eddie Royal ($4.5 million), OLB Dwight Freeney ($3.5 million), and FB Le'Ron McClain ($2.5 million).

Fri Sep 27 201313:51Jeromey Clary not expected to play Sunday
Chargers RG Jeromey Clary (clavicle) missed Friday's practice and is not expected to play in Week 4 against Dallas.
San Diego is going to be without three starting offensive linemen against a Dallas defense that ranks second in the NFL in sacks (13). LG Chad Rinehart (toe) and LT King Dunlap (concussion) will also miss the game. This is a scary matchup for Philip Rivers; fire up the Cowboys' fantasy defense.

Mon May 13 201318:36Chargers work Jeromey Clary at right guard
Chargers OL Jeromey Clary worked with the starters at right guard on the first day of OTAs on Monday.
Clary has started 78 career games, all at right tackle. After the selection of RT D.J. Fluker with the No. 11 overall pick last month, Clary is trying to make the switch to the interior. The 29-year-old graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 14 right tackle last season, but his pass blocking was sub-par. The Chargers current offensive line looks like this: LT King Dunlap, LG Chad Rinehart, C Nick Hardwin, LG Clary, RT Fluker.

Thu May 2 201308:51Jeromey Clary open to playing guard
GM Tom Telesco confirmed that Jeromey Clary is open to playing guard.
Clarey started 14 games at right tackle last season, grading out 38th among 80 qualifiers according to Pro Football Focus. Thanks to the selection of Alabama's D.J. Fluker and the loss of Louis Vasquez in free agency, Clary will kick inside. He's a little oversized for the role at 6'6/320, but he accepts that he's not an option at left tackle.

Fri Apr 26 201302:09Jeromey Clary will be evaluated at guard
The Chargers will evaluate RT Jeromey Clary at guard.
San Diego used the No. 10 overall pick on Alabama RT D.J. Fluker Thursday night. They could save $2.3M in cap space by dumping Clary, but are not expected to do that anytime soon. They have a hole at guard after losing Louis Vasquez in free agency.

Fri Mar 8 201315:11Chargers could save by releasing RT Clary
The Chargers could save $2.3 million in salary cap space by releasing RT Jeromey Clary.
It's surprising they haven't done it yet. Long a turnstile in pass protection, 29-year-old Clary should no longer be on scholarship in San Diego with old GM A.J. Smith run out of town. Clary's 2013 base salary is $4 million.

Mon Dec 3 201201:13Chargers lose RT Clary to knee injury
Chargers RT Jeromey Clary injured his left knee on the offense's second play in Week 13 versus the Bengals.
Clary tried to strap it up with a brace but was unable to return. Kevin Haslam filled in while Rex Hadnot took over for LG Tyronne Green (hamstring). The result was little room for Ryan Mathews on the ground and four sacks of Philip Rivers.

Wed Jul 18 201215:54Chargers: RT Clary is better than people say
Chargers OC Hal Hunter insists RT Jeromey Clary is a better player than he's given credit for by "the outside."
"The outside" consists of game-watchers not affiliated with the team. We noticed in the Chargers' 2011 games that Clary was the offensive line's weak link, particularly in pass protection. "They remember pressure that he gave up, or maybe he missed a block - that's all that comes to mind," said Hunter. "They give him no credit." Clary is locked in as the Chargers' right tackle for 2012. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 74 tackle among 76 in 2011.

Tue Feb 14 201217:36Bolts expected to stick with RT Clary
The San Diego Union-Tribune expects RT Jeromey Clary to remain with the Colts.
One of the worst offensive linemen in the league last season, Clary is currently set to make $2.85 million in 2012, but the Bolts apparently aren't ready to give up on their long-time right tackle. Signed for roughly $11.5 million through 2014, he could still be asked to take a pay-cut.

Tue Jul 26 201119:13Report: Chargers keep Clary w/ $20M deal
Chargers reportedly agreed to terms with RT Jeromey Clary on a four-year, $20 million contract.
That's quite a deal for a player who was nearly pulled for Brandyn Dombrowski early last season. Clary graded out below average in pass protection and run blocking, according to Pro Football Focus. The Chargers can now turn their attention to the defensive side of the ball.

Mon Mar 21 201110:28Jeromey Clary a priority for the Chargers
Keeping free agent right tackle Jeromey Clary is a priority for the Chargers, according to beat writer Kevin Acee.
Clary is a four-year veteran and therefore tentatively expected to be an unrestricted free agent. If the Chargers are confident in retaining Clary, they are freed up to address their hole at defensive end/outside linebacker with the No. 18 overall pick.

Mon Oct 11 201022:58Clary expected to stay starter at RT
The Chargers are expected to keep Jeromey Clary as their starting right tackle, rather than replace him with Brandyn Dombrowski.
The Bolts are suddenly rich at tackle, with Dombrowski slated for "swing" duties behind Clary and returning holdout LT Marcus McNeill. Clary has been a liability in the early going, so Dombrowski could overtake him shortly. For now, though, San Diego will try to keep some continuity on the right side.

Tue Aug 17 201015:17Clary now splitting reps with Dombrowski
Jeromey Clary is now splitting reps at right tackle with Brandyn Dombrowski.
The Chargers are experimenting up front, and they seem to be hoping that 2009 fourth-rounder Tyronne Green shows enough potential to stick at left tackle. Pass protection remains on issue for the Bolts. It's not likely to be fixed without Marcus McNeill.

Thu Apr 15 201019:02Jeromey Clary signs Bolts' tender offer
Chargers re-signed restricted free agent RT Jeromey Clary to a one-year contract.
With Brandyn Dombrowski earmarked for interior of the line, Clary is expected to enter the season as the starter once again. He shouldn't get too comfortable, however, as Dombrowski proved capable outside and the Bolts could use a mid-round pick on a tackle.
