Sun Jun 22 201415:07Stephen Jackson hasn't yet retired from NBA
Veteran SF Stephen Jackson hasn't yet retired from the NBA, but he admitted that he's "not sitting around with [his] fingers crossed."
"If it happens, it happens," Jackson said. "If I get a call I will explore it, but I'm enjoying my life, man. I'm doing music now so it's all good." He appeared in only nine games after being signed by the Clippers last season and was waived due to the team's need for guards, but Doc Rivers offered nothing but praise for the 36-year-old journeyman. It would be a surprise to see him earn a guaranteed NBA contract next season.

Mon Dec 9 201316:49Clippers agree to deal with Stephen Jackson
The Clippers have reached an agreement with Stephen Jackson, according to ESPN.com's Chris Broussard.
It's a non-guaranteed deal and he'll just add depth for the Clippers. The loss of J.J. Redick (wrist) has made them a little thin at the wing, but it still might be a little while before Jackson gets worked into the rotation. He played just 19.5 minutes per game with the Spurs last year, so that serves as a fair cap for his potential value this season. He can be left on the wire in just about every league.

Mon Dec 9 201303:25Report: Clippers looking at Stephen Jackson
ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that the Clippers are looking at signing free agent forward Stephen Jackson.
Jackson last played for the Spurs and could help the ailing Clippers, who are currently dealing with injuries to J.J. Redick Matt Barnes and Reggie Bullock. Shannon Brown's name has also come up, along with Lamar Odom, but it sounds like Jackson could become a Clipper at some point in the next week. If you're in a very deep league with a thin waiver wire, Jackson could be worth a flier.

Mon Sep 16 201315:24Stephen Jackson, Steve Francis in altercation
Free agent Stephen Jackson was recently involved in an altercation at a nightclub, which resulted in former All-Star Steve Francis being handcuffed.
Jackson was rapping in a DJ booth when Francis "bumped [him] two times with his midsection," so after an exchange of words Jackson grabbed Francis around the throat. It's unclear why Francis wound up in handcuffs. S-Jax was linked to the Rockets in mid-August, but incidents like this can't help his bid to land another NBA contract.

Mon Aug 12 201312:36Rockets in the mix for Stephen Jackson
The Rockets are believed to be in the mix to sign Stephen Jackson.
Things didn't end so well with S-Jax in San Antonio, so why not go to an in-state rival? Jackson is 35 years old and over the past two seasons has shot a laughable 37.3 percent from the field. The Rockets don't really need to add someone like Jackson, but he could see a deal at the league minimum.

Wed Jun 19 201308:45Stephen Jackson has plans to return to NBA
Stephen Jackson has plans to return to the NBA after his exile from the Spurs this season.
Jackson revealed that he asked for a trade, but the Spurs released him outright. "I was dominating in practice, I was working my butt off, and it was just frustrating me," he said. We have serious doubts that he was "dominating" practice, but the good news is Jackson still respects Popovich. We don't anticipate a reunion any time soon, but Jackson will likely resurface next season with a new team.

Wed Jun 5 201308:12Stephen Jackson has no regrets about release
Stephen Jackson has no regrets about being released from the Spurs, saying, "I wouldn't want me on the team, either."
When asked if he had any regrets specifically, Jackson said, "Nope. Got my money," with a big smile. There are several interesting tidbits in the story, including Jackson's revealing that Gregg Popovich wasn't playing Jackson because he felt Danny Green and Manu Ginobili were playing better. It's hard to argue with Popovich's logic. It's not known what Jackson's NBA future is, but he'll almost certainly get a handful of looks during the offseason.

Fri Apr 19 201310:19Stephen Jackson opens up about dispute
Stephen Jackson opened up about his dispute with Gregg Popovich which ultimately led to his release.
"We had a disagreement," he said. "He wanted me to agree to players being better than me, and I didn't agree. I've been in the NBA a long time, so it's just something I didn't agree with and something I have no control over." Maybe Jackson hasn't watched himself play recently, but he was stinking it up and those who played over him deservedly did so. Jackson shot 37.3 percent from the field this season, including 27.1 percent from down town.

Sat Apr 13 201310:03Jackson/Popovich split reportedly a buildup
Sources tell the San Antonio Express-News there was no defining showdown between Stephen Jackson and Gregg Popovich prior to the Spurs releasing Jackson.
Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowki reported Friday that player and coach had been "sparring" throughout the season over Captain Jack's role with the Spurs. The Express-News seconded the report, saying Jackson simply wanted more minutes. Jackson is free to sign with any team but is not eligible to play in the postseason.

Sun Apr 7 201300:08Stephen Jackson (ankle) returns to action
Stephen Jackson (sprained right ankle) returned on Saturday, as expected, scoring nine points with one 3-pointer, two rebounds and one assist.
He looked fine in 19 minutes off the bench, but he won't have fantasy value while Danny Green (four points) and Kawhi Leonard (23 points, six rebounds) are both healthy.

Sat Apr 6 201311:47Stephen Jackson probable for Saturday night
Stephen Jackson (ankle) is considered probable to play Saturday night.
Jackson's injury is considered minor by the Spurs, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he ends up playing tonight. He will be a boost to the Spurs' depth but likely won't play enough minutes to make an impact on your fantasy lineup.

Fri Apr 5 201308:54Stephen Jackson without timetable to return
Stephen Jackson (ankle) is without a timetable to return.
The good news is that Jackson's sprain is being deemed as "minor," so we can't imagine he'll be forced to miss too much time. Without Captain Jack available, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green should pick up the slack.

Thu Apr 4 201314:24Spurs say Jackson's ankle injury is 'mild'
Stephen Jackson won't play Thursday night but the Spurs say his ankle sprain is "mild."
Jackson injured the ankle during Wednesday's game and it's the same ankle he hurt during a February game against the Knicks. Jackson wasn't particularly optimistic about the injury Wednesday night, admitted he shouldn't have tried to play through the pain. The good news is that it's not a high or severe sprain, so hopefully Jackson won't miss more than a game or two. We should know more about his status Friday afternoon. Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green will pick up the slack in Jackson's absence.

Thu Apr 4 201309:46Stephen Jackson pessimistic on ankle injury
Stephen Jackson was pessimistic about his ankle following his injury in Wednesday's win.
Jackson will not play on Thursday, and it's the same ankle he injured previously. "It's the same ankle as the New York game, and it happened the same way," he said. "I tried to play through it, and I shouldn't have done that." Without Jackson, the Spurs will rely on guys like Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to step up.

Thu Apr 4 201300:19Stephen Jackson (ankle) will require MRI
Stephen Jackson needs an MRI after his ankle was stepped on during Wednesday's game, and he will not travel for Thursday's game in Oklahoma City.
Jackson had a brace on his ankle after the game and he could be looking at a few missed games, which would shift more minutes to Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard (knee) and maybe Gary Neal. We should have his MRI results on Thursday.

Wed Apr 3 201323:00Stephen Jackson faceplants in start
Stephen Jackson faceplanted with two points in 19 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Magic.
Jackson was a popular spot-start with Kawhi Leonard (knee) resting, but he started off ice cold and couldn't shoot his way out of it. Captain Jack ended up 1-of-9 from the field, giving way to a red-hot Gary Neal for much of the second half. With Leonard expected back Thursday, streamers can move on.

Tue Apr 2 201300:00Stephen Jackson starts on Monday
Stephen Jackson got his fifth start of the season on Monday, scoring 12 points with seven boards, three assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers.
It was a nice game for Jackson and he did an admirable job filling in for Kawhi Leonard (knee). If Leonard gets more rest for his bum knee, Captain Jack will be worth a look in some deeper formats.

Mon Mar 4 201308:18Stephen Jackson's ankle feeling better now
Gregg Popovich confirmed that Stephen Jackson's ankle "felt better" on Sunday.
"He's improving," he said. "He needs that. It's hard to play when your ankle's not right." Jackson played 26 minutes on Sunday, so he should be good to go moving forward.
