Clevlen, 28, hit .290/.366/.520 with 13 homers between Double- and Triple-A this year, but he hasn't made it up to the big leagues since 2010. He might get a spring training invite but would be a longshot to make the Diamondbacks' Opening Day roster next spring. | ||||||

Clevlen re-signed with the Phillies on a minor league pact in January but apparently was given his release sometime between now and then. He's been assigned to Double-A Mobile and has already picked up five at-bats for them. Clevlen has 59 games of major league experience but split the 2011 season between two minor league teams and the independent leagues. | ||||||

There's no word on whether he'll receive an invitation to spring training. Clevlen split his time between the Phillies and Reds organizations last season and put together a healthy .297/.383/.510 batting line with nine homers over 230 plate appearances. The 28-year-old won't crack the Opening Day roster but isn't a bad minor league depth guy. | ||||||
