Sammons served as organizational depth at catcher for the Braves last year. He hit just .162/.253/.244 over 310 plate appearances at the Triple-A level and is highly unlikely to reach the majors this season with Florida. | ||||||

Sammons managed to pass through waivers successfully. The 27-year-old backstop hasn't made an appearance in the majors this year. He is batting .178/.263/.267 with two home runs and 13 RBI over 135 at-bats with Gwinnett this season. | ||||||
