Tue Oct 13 201512:17Redmond will elect to become free agent
Redmond will elect to become a free agent, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Redmond bounced between Triple-A and the Blue Jays' 40-man roster multiple times this season, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Redmond will look to catch on with another team this offseason. He will likely file in as bullpen depth for a club in 2016, but the lack of high-leverage opportunities will surely extinguish much of his fantasy value.
Sun Jul 5 201514:49Redmond outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday
Redmond was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports.
Redmond has been dumped from the Blue Jays' 40-man roster three times already this season, but with no team willing to put in a waiver claim on him, he's never exited the organization. He'll work in a mop-up role at Triple-A while he waits for an opening in the Toronto bullpen to come about.

Redmond was designated for assignment Thursday following Toronto's loss to Boston, Sportsnet reports.
Despite throwing a one-hit scoreless inning Thursday, Redmond's 7.31 ERA on the season factored into him being designated for assignment. The Blue Jays optioned Thursday's starter, Matt Boyd, as well following the series finale against Boston. The team has yet to announce corresponding moves for Boyd and Redmond.

Redmond pitched 3.1 innings, scattering two hits and a walk while allowing no earned runs in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox.
After giving up multiple earned runs in each of his first four appearances, Redmond is on something of a roll with two straight scoreless appearances. After Marco Estrada couldn't make it out of the third inning, Redmond gave them the length they needed. Redmond has a higher chance of being demoted back to Triple-A than seeing higher leverage situations, but performances such as Tuesday's will only help his case.

Matt Boyd will likely replace Redmond as the scheduled starter for Saturday's game against the Rangers, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports.
Redmond was recalled Monday and promptly allowed two runs over 1.2 innings out of the bullpen. He's given up multiple runs in each of his four appearances this season, and the Blue Jays may prefer to keep him in a long relief/mop-up role, if they don't demote him to Triple-A Buffalo.
Mon Jun 22 201512:37Redmond recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday
Redmond was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, SportsNet's Ben Nicholson-Smith reports.
Redmond will likely start Saturday's game against the Rangers, replacing Scott Copeland in the rotation. With Aaron Sanchez (back) expected to return within the next few weeks, there's no guarantee Redmond will get another start after Sunday. The 30-year-old has struggled at both the Triple-A and big-league levels this year.
Mon Jun 22 201511:20Redmond will likely be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday
Redmond will likely be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith reports.
Redmond will likely take the rotation spot of Scott Copeland, who was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday. Redmond's start would line up for Saturday against the Rangers in Toronto, but with Aaron Sanchez (back) expected to return in late June or early July, Redmond probably won't stick in the rotation for long. The 30-year-old was a decent reliever for Toronto the past two seasons, but he's struggled in both the majors and minors this year.

Redmond cleared waivers Friday and was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo.
Redmond was decent for the Blue Jays in 2013 and 2014, but he's given up 11 earned runs on nine hits (two home runs) and six walks through just 8.1 innings this season. He'll need a nice stretch at Triple-A Buffalo to become an option for the big-league bullpen again.
Tue May 19 201515:14Redmond designated for assignment Tuesday
Redmond was designated for assignment Tuesday.
With Scott Copeland being recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Redmond will head down in a corresponding roster move. Redmond has struggled mightily with the big league club this season, allowing 11 earned runs with six walks in just 8.1 innings of work.

Redmond had some struggles in a spot-start Monday, allowing three runs in four innings to the Angels.
Redmond's spot-start was actually slightly better than his two turbulent relief appearances earlier this season, in which he allowed eight runs in 4.1 innings. Redmond may be ticketed for a return to Triple-A, where he holds a 4.50 ERA in 14 innings.
Mon May 18 201510:14Redmond will start for Blue Jays on Monday against Angels
Redmond will start for the Blue Jays on Monday against the Angels, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Redmond was recalled by the team late Sunday night, and he'll be manager John Gibbons' choice to take the hill Monday afternoon against the Angels. The right-hander struggled in two relief appearances this season, allowing four earned runs in each, but has been a bit better at Triple-A, giving up seven earned runs on 15 hits over 14 innings. The rest of the Toronto starters will be pushed back a day, starting with Aaron Sanchez on Tuesday.
Mon May 18 201500:08Redmond recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday
Redmond was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reports.
Redmond will work as a long reliever and mop-up man, replacing Jeff Francis, who was designated for assignment. Redmond has given up five walks and eight earned runs over 4.1 innings with the Blue Jays this season, but he posted a 3.24 ERA over 75 innings last year. He may eventually get an opportunity to make a spot start.

Redmond cleared waivers Sunday and was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo, MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports.
Redmond was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays a little over a week ago after he was touched up for eight runs over 4.1 innings. He'll look to get back on track in the minors, but his removal from the Jays' 40-man roster will make his ascent back to the big leagues a tough one.
Thu Apr 16 201515:04Redmond designated for assignment on Thursday
Redmond was designated for assignment on Thursday.
The Blue Jays wanted to clear a spot on the 40-man roster, and Redmond has been brutal out of the bullpen so far, giving up eight earned runs in 4.1 innings. He should clear waivers and end up in Triple-A.

Redmond has pitched well in the spring thus far, surrendering one earned run and four hits across five innings.
With Aaron Sanchez likely pressed into duty as a starter thanks to the injury to Marcus Stroman, Redmond's role in the bullpen becomes more important. Last season he pitched 75 innings across 42 appearances, carrying an ERA of 3.24 with a WHIP of 1.33 to go along with 60 strikeouts. While Redmond isn't going to blow anyone away with his power, but is also fairly consistent. He cut the number of home runs he allowed drastically from 13 in 2013 to just five in 2014. If he can keep that number down while coming close to a strikeout per inning, he could be a nice option in deeper leagues to boost your innings total out of the bullpen.

Redmond gave up two runs on three hits while covering two innings out of the bullpen in Tuesday's loss to the Brewers.
Redmond has been a steadying presence in the Toronto bullpen for much of the season, but he's hit a rough patch recently. He's now given up seven runs over his last 2.2 innings.
Sat May 31 201416:22Todd Redmond records three-inning save
Todd Redmond picked up a three-inning save in a 12-2 game against the Royals on Saturday.
Redmond allowed one run in the three innings, but it was unearned. He's primarily been a mopup man this year after doing a nice job as a starter last season, and he won't be a candidate for fantasy value unless he sneaks back into the rotation at some point.

Sat Mar 22 201417:13Todd Redmond strikes out eight Tigers
Todd Redmond allowed four runs -- three earned -- in six innings and struck out eight Saturday in the Blue Jays' 9-4 win over the Tigers.
Assuming there are no setbacks in the final week, it looks like Drew Huchinson, Brandon Morrow and J.A. Happ will round out Toronto's rotation, leaving Redmond as a middle-relief possibility. The Jays are crowded there, with Redmond, Esmil Rogers and Jeremy Jeffress all out of options. One could be traded to ease the logjam. Rogers seems the most likely to go in that scenario.

Sun Mar 16 201416:40Todd Redmond goes five in Jays' win
Todd Redmond yielded two runs in five innings Sunday as the Blue Jays edged the Orioles 4-3 in 10 innings.
Redmond struck out four in his best outing so far this spring. He's probably fallen out of the rotation picture with Drew Hutchinson looking like a lock and J.A. Happ still favored for the other opening. However, he remains a candidate for middle relief, and if he pitches well there, he'll get another look as a starter later on.

Sun Mar 2 201416:54Todd Redmond gives up two homers to Yanks
Todd Redmond gave up three runs and two homers in his two innings of work Sunday against the Yankees.
Eduardo Nunez and Carlos Beltran hit back-to-back homers off him in the third. Redmond was a pleasant surprise for the Blue Jays last year, amassing a 4.32 ERA and a 76/23 K/BB ratio in 77 innings over his 14 starts and three relief appearances. However, he still appears to be something of a long shot to open this year back in the rotation. That he is prone to the homer hurts his candidacy, but last year's strikeout rate was pretty promising.
