Branch signed a two-year deal with the Patriots on Saturday worth $6.6 million, Ben Volin of The Boston Globe reports.
Branch joined the Patriots midseason last year and took the field for eight games where he registered 13 total tackles. The 30-year-old played a reserve role last season and he'll likely do the same for the 2015 campaign despite the potential departure of Vince Wilfork.

Branch signed with the Patriots on Wednesday, ESPN.com reports.
The move was expected, but not finalized until Wednesday, with linebacker Deontae Skinner released in a corresponding move. The addition of Branch bolsters the interior of the Patriots' defensive line, which also features the likes of Vince Wilfork, Casey Walker and Chris Jones.

Branch will sign with the Patriots, the Boston Globe reports.
With Chandler Jones expected to miss about a month with a hip injury, the Patriots will welcome Branch aboard to provide depth along the defensive line. Released by the Bill in August following a DUI arrest, Branch has totaled 170 tackles (112 solo) and eight sacks in 94 career games, but he's recorded just one sack since 2011.
Sun Aug 24 201415:05Branch released by Bills on Sunday
Branch was released by the Bills on Sunday.
This comes as no surprise after Branch was charged for drunken driving in the wee hours of the morning the night before a game, one where he was supposed to be using to fight for a roster spot. After Branch skipped voluntary work this offseason and then showed up to camp out of shape, this reaction by the team was pretty much a no-brainer.

Branch was benched for Saturday's preseason loss to Tampa Bay after getting arrested for drunken driving early Saturday morning, the Associated Press reports. Police say Branch failed a field sobriety test and had a blood-alcohol content of .14 percent.
Branch has had a lackluster summer and was running the risk of getting cut before this incident. With several other younger interior linemen stepping up for the Bills lately and coach Doug Marrone's patience starting to wear thin in a week featuring fights in practice and an ugly loss to the Buccaneers, there's a chance Branch may not last past the coming week.

Bills signed DT Alan Branch to a multi-year contract extension.
Instead of letting Branch hit free agency, the Bills lock up their veteran run-stuffer. The 28-year-old's first season in Buffalo was a rousing success as he is on his way to a career-high in tackles while grading out as a top-10 3-4 end against the run.

Bills agreed to terms with DT Alan Branch, formerly of the Seahawks, on a one-year, $3 million contract.
The veteran run stopper will slide in as a role player behind Marcell Dareus and Kyle Williams. Branch played 575 snaps for the Seahawks last season, grading out in the middle of the pack in Pro Football Focus' defensive tackle ratings. He'll help shore up a run defense that allowed 145.8 yards per game and 5.0 yards per carry in 2012.

Thu Mar 28 201308:38Alan Branch could be offered to Packers
ESPN's John Clayton says the Packers could have interest in free agent DT Alan Branch.

PFT's Mike Florio says to not be surprised if Branch now ends up in Jacksonville with his former defensive boss in Seattle, Gus Bradley. Branch, 28, turned his career around with the Seahawks, and even after signing Roy Miller, the Jaguars still need talent. Branch is a behemoth at 6-foot-6 and 330 pounds.

Thu Mar 7 201317:59Patriots could be interested in a trio of DLs
ESPN Boston projects free agent DLs Alan Branch, Sammie Lee Hill, and Matt Shaughnessy to be the Patriots' top targets at the position.
Branch, a behemoth at 6-foot-6 and 331 pounds, would be a nice fit next to the short and stout, pile-moving Vince Wilfork on the Patriots' interior line. Branch excels as a run-stuffer, and he could draw plenty of interest on the open market after turning his career around in Seattle. Shaughnessy has the versatility up front that coach Bill Belichick likes. Hill is a pass-rushing wide body.

Tue Jan 15 201318:41DT Branch hopes to re-sign with Seahawks
Impending free agent DT Alan Branch expressed a strong desire to re-sign with the Seahawks.
"Hopefully they want me here and the whole money situation gets settled," Branch said. "If not, there won't be a better group of guys than this, for sure. But we'll see." A disappointment in Arizona, the 28-year-old has rejuvenated his career with the Seahawks the past two years.

Branch will be replaced by Clinton McDonald, downgrading the Seahawks' run defense a tiny peg. Both Sidney Rice (knee) and Ben Obomanu (knee) are active, as expected. The other Seahawks' inactives: QB Josh Portis, WR Deon Butler, T Jarriel King, G/T Allen Barbre, CB Byron Maxwell and CB Ron Parker.

Fri Jul 29 201101:05Seahawks finish deal with DL Alan Branch
Seahawks agreed to terms with DL Alan Branch on a two-year, $8 million contract with $4 million guaranteed.
The Cardinals wanted to re-sign Branch, but they were never going to pay him this kind of money. He may be a better fit in Seattle's scheme anyway. The Seahawks, under Pete Carroll, have placed an emphasis on size in the front four. Branch has that in spades at 6-foot-6, 340 with the ability to play both five-technique tackle and nose. He'll push Red Bryant to start at left end.

Sat Oct 9 201015:43DE Branch to see more snaps?
Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said DE Alan Branch played well enough in Week 4 to earn more snaps in Week 5 against the Saints.
The Cards have been tinkering with a defense that features four down linemen, a deviation from their typical 3-4 scheme. Darnell Dockett's role as starter has not been affected with the occasional switch to a 4-3, but Branch should see an uptick in production.

Mon Apr 19 201009:32Branch moved to DE
Cardinals DL Alan Branch has been moved from nose tackle to defensive end.
Although the Cardinals are thin at nose tackle, Branch was giving them nothing at that spot. Branch, a second-round pick in 2007, has battled weight problems and busted badly. He'll need to play lighter to fit as a 3-4 end.
