He walked twice in four plate appearances Sunday.

It was originally reported Wednesday that Navarro had been designated for assignment by the Angels on the heels of their acquisitions of David Murphy and David DeJesus, but it appears Navarro had a remaining minor-league option. As a result, Navarro will stick on the Angels' 40-man roster, but the team's increased depth in the outfield will make it unlikely that he rejoins the big club until September.

Navarrao was designated for assignment Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of the OC Register reports.

With David Murphy and David DeJesus joining the Angels' roster, the team needed to clear space, and Navarro is one of the casualties. The first baseman will be subject to waivers and will likely land at Triple-A, where he's hitting .354 with 17 RBI in 161 at-bats this season.

Navarro was recalled by the Angels on Tuesday.

The Angels made a flurry of moves Tuesday as they optioned Kyle Kubitza, recalled Navarro, activated Shane Victorino, and placed Matt Joyce on the 7-day concussion DL. Navarro has posted excellent numbers at Triple-A Salt Lake this season, sporting a .354/.402/.516 slash line over 161 at-bats. He has had more trouble at the big league level this season, with a .260 batting average over 77 at-bats as a member of the Angels.

Navarro is out of the lineup Saturday against Seattle.

Navarro has gone 0-for-9 over his last two games and just 4 for his last 18 overall. He'll get the day off Saturday with Dan Robertson taking over in left field and leading off.

Navarro is in the lineup Saturday and will bat leadoff against Oakland.

Navarro is leading off for the second straight game after being slotted towards the bottom third of the order for much of the season. He's batting .348 this month with a pair of doubles and three RBI.

Navarro is not in the lineup Monday against Arizona.

Navarro has started in left field in each of the last four games, but he'll give way to Dan Robertson on Monday against left-hander Robbie Ray.

Navarro started in left field for the second straight day Friday and went 1-for-4 in the win over Oakland.

The left-handed hitting Navarro may receive a short run of playing time for the Halos while Matt Joyce serves as the team's DH against right-handed pitching. To date, Navarro has built the resume of a solid Quad-A player, but most of his chances with the Angels have been as a part-time player.

Navarro was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Vinnie Pestano was sent down to make room on the roster for Navarro, who will return for his third stint with the major league club this season. Navarro will start at first base and bat eighth Saturday against Tigers right-hander Shane Green as Albert Pujols gets another day off from field duties.

Navarro was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

Navarro spent one week with the Angels but gave up his roster spot to make room for relief pitcher Ryan Mattheus on Friday. During his short stint in the majors, Navarro made a total of four appearances at the plate and registered just one hit.
